To all you carebears out there who hate this hulkaggedon thing why dont you guys raise the price of the ore and mats if the ore goes up enough it will cost to much to to build there ships dont you get it think about if it cost 10 mill to buy a distoryer and it only pays out 1.5 mill do you think there would be all this ganking RAISE THE PRICE GUYS IF YOU WANT THEM TO STOP KILLING YOU RAISE THE PRICE

Good idea. Raise the price of your minerals, be undercut by the much higher volume producers that reprocess mission loot, and price yourselves right out of the market. Before long you'll realize that you aren't making any money mining and find other pursuits in EVE.

dont you guys get it its not jsut teh gankers its everyone but the miner that will suffer the miner can make there own tech one ships and so they will amke a ton of isk doing this if you miners are sick of being picked one fight back this is how you do it

This is why I enjoy killing AFK miners. They're probably sitting on the forums, whining about how they get killed while AFK.

Even if everyone did this it wouldn't work you wanna know why? Well all you need to do is some simple math. Now you want to make destroyers go from 1mill-10mill and that will make every ship 10 times its price (I believe this is true correct me if I'm wrong im not really sure how invention works) that would make hulks 10 times their price too. And with their current price being set at 250mill I really doubt that you want to spend 2.5bill on an uninsurable ship because it just makes it a better target for suicide gankers. But if you want to so that people need to buy a 10mill destroyer to kill it then go for it.

Even if missions runners didnt exist, what would keep me from repocessing loot from low sec piracy and build destroyers out of it? Its not like a destroyers need that many resources and I got an alt who is prob better at building than you will ever be!

Getting a couple people to sit at exit points from low near amamake rancer old man star etc with sebo'ed tacklers would probably hamper hulkageddon. But then it would require targeting something else than asteroid which might prove impossible for carebears.

Why would you mine in a ship that you can't afford to lose? If you want to be on the safer side, mine in a low sec / 0.0 sec area with an escort from your corp. That way you won't have to worry about
a) concord
and
b) you can count everything that isn't marked blue as hostile and be prepared.

Someone should teach bears that getting clever with mineral buy orders is a more efficient way of procuring ship materials than sitting in a belt AFK in an uninsured, untanked ship

As for stopping something like Hulkageddon--not gonna happen without a systemic change from CCP's end. Market fluctuations will be impacted to some extent, but trying to manipulate them, even en masse, will not stop something that is so far removed in any form of causality. I honestly believe HG has very little to do with the market and more to do with player creativity, determination, and cooperation on a very large scale.
Also, I'm anti-pirate as a player and I despise suicide ganking for various reasons, but I can't help but stare in awe at the killboard as the numbers go up.

Here's an idea. Since it's advertised in the forums for roughly a month, change it up for the week it lasts. Do something else, try missions, play another game, watch movies... just don't mine. If you have to mine, then get one of the t1 cruisers with mining bonus (not sure what they are) and use them. The point is, adapt. I'm not exactly an old timer in eve, but it has changed a lot since I started. I've adapted, others have adapted. Good bad or indifferent, the fact remains, Hulkageddon exists. Adapt, and keep in mind adapting may not mean tanking your mining barge. It may mean don't mine in a barge for the week of hulkageddon. Is that fair?? Sure, I disrupt the gameplay of many folks one week at a time (length of a war dec) over and over again. Just saying get rid of the idea that everything around you has to change to suit your style of play. Hulkageddon is here and probably here to stay, so for one week a year, YOU have to deal with it. I can assure you any changes brought on by CCP will be adapted to and overcome by the suicide gankers. All the politics, reasons, motivations are not relevent. Worry about yourself and what you have to change for one week. The strong will survive and the weak will perish. You just have to take your gameplay into your own hands. Good luck.

It is interesting how gankers can band together for such a huge event as HG but industry pilots can't band together to attempt to crash the market or inflate the rates. If EVE is as open ended as it's bragged about then both are possible. All it would take is for enough industry and market players to put their heads together and create "fake" expensive orders and place outrageous Buy Orders and some other things. It would take awhile though and those players would have to keep at it slowly but surely. It wouldn't have such an initial impact as HG does but over time it would pollute the market and possibly crash it temporarily. I don't want the market to collapse but if one can happen then so can the other.

Then do it. BE the MAN, not the idea man. Crashing the markets will take a lot more work and dedication than it does to organize and execute hulkageddon. The point still remains, adapt and do something in the game, not on the forums. Stop asking for others to do something for you. Do it yourself. Organize a market thingy to make hulkageddon a mess. Buy all the smartbombs, give out free hulks, hide the ice/asteroid belts. STOP trying to get others to take care of you. Take care of yourslef. Don't ask/demand CCP fix (put stuff here). Take matters into your own hands. "But Serendipity, I don't have shooty shooty skills, I'm just a miner" You have a year till the next HG to fix that, you have a year to plan and crash the market, you have a year to .... DO IT. Don't come here and allow folks to poke fun at you. Hatch an evil secret plan and execute it. You won't win eve on the forums.
