Several of his most recent scams started with his victims saying "You scammed before, right?" He can point to this thread and say "I used to, but I paid the money back". Hopefully some of the pointed questions on page1 will cause future victims to take a close look at it. But each day that passes makes it less likely in my opinion that anything good will come out of it.

If someone is going to lie in order to rip people off, there should be a cost (IMO). The only real cost we can apply is to socially ostracize. Under your view, its enough that the scammer will never be able to scam again. Big deal, I say. I think the cost should be total shuning, so if someone is going to scam, they can count on losing any social standing at all. Its all we've got to discourage lies and scams, and lies and scams quite frankly ruin the market.
