I wonder if we are going to break our last concurrent player record we had some weeks ago, seeing theres currently 55.803 players online!
Seems like theres a current trend going on: breaking records!

Nope. No way. Impossible. EVE is dying, haven't you heard? ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |

Just shy of 56k as of right now. Looks like we have a good chance to break it.

56054 when I last checked, so I think we got it. I think we've already been having localized crashes, though

56.401 indeed. And if I remember correct, we might have a new record!

I never heard of EVE until mid-2009, never saw an ad on a website for it, on the TV, never saw any mentions in PC Gamer, but now I see them everywhere, I think I even saw one on TV, although I'm fairly sure I dreamed that after playing for 18 straight hours.
So, obviously, more people are going to be joining than ever before, and although only 2/10 (or thereabouts) are ever going to play past the trial and subscribe, it's still going to be a hell of a lot of people joining.
How are they going to fix it so the server can cope with so many people? The space we're given to play in is huge, but obviously the more people that join, the smaller it gets, more crowded, more crashes, etc.
Will they make a new one?

When I joined up on this game in 2005 I had just left SWG in rage of their NGE. To be honest, I could not stomach such game companies anymore so when I was looking for a new game to play I was looking for a game which the players where admiring, and a game company that really cared for their playerbase. And vice versa. I found it in EVE, although I have to admit when I joined I did not know anything at all about this game, except you flew star ships.
Now 4+ years later I am in love with this game and the game company. And I have plenty of friends here who feels the same thing. That is the kind of games that will win the MMORPG wars! And that is why I find it so great seeing CCP and the game doing so well, because I remember a time when the game company had a hard time too!
...and 56.683 players!

56.739 is the current number 15 minutes before the tide usually turns.
I wonder when we will see 60.000 concurrent players online?
