Yesterday afternoon, even while the area was under severe -A- pressure, Sev3rance (backed by a CVA logistics ships) completely destroyed a Star Fraction staging Tower in Dital. Star Fraction response times were too slow too scramble sufficient reinforcements to drive off the force of 50+ Battleships even with assistance of the tower. SF lost four battleships and the tower but destroyed one Battleship and a pair of logistics ships.
Defeated, Star Fraction retreated from Dital and downshipped to mostly fully insured t1 cruisers to roam the systems north of 9UY, taking advantage of the pressure of -A- and UK, while not risking much themselves.
After the Sev3rance force completed the destruction of the first SF Tower the Fraction called upon others to shore up their weaknesses in firepower and numbers and raise a second tower. The Star Fraction managed to get enough support to risk an attack before the second tower collapsed.
With superior firepower the Star Fraction destroyed 30 enemy battleships and saved the large tower only to have it put into reinforcemed mode again later that day when the Star Fraction fleet failed to respond to defend their tower for the second time that day.
Still the enduring symbols of today:
The lonely and somewhat tragic image of Jade Constantine losing one SF Tower and relying on outside support to defend the second while posting a heroic tale on IGS about it to enhance her own image. ____

Are you actually aware of what happened yesterday? Losing a medium tower and 30m isk worth of modules while destroying the best part of 40 Providence battleships while the CVA was hiding from their enemies is not really anything you can spin-positively for your slaver-allies.
Where was PIE in the battle of 9UY?

Seriously? That's what stuck in your mind after this battle?
Tell you what image stands out for me, the site of 30+ Battleship wrecks strewn around the bubble of the now fully armed Verdant Inquiries Starbase. Drones scattered all around, with no ships surviving to recall them, loot canisters full to the brim of modules and ammunition, salvage piles building up left right and center.

If I recall correctly, pilots are now able to insure their battleships! Is there such a plan for towers?

You can't insure the 2.6+Bn worth of loot (not including salvage) that they dropped. I think that tops the few 100mill the tower cost...

Truly, the one image that has firmly fixed itself in my mind is the sight of the two score victorious Ship of the Line battleships of the Star Fraction and our friends, basking gloriously in the light cast off by the glowing plasma strewn from the broken hulls of our enemy, as the warp-trails of the lucky few who managed to escape our wrath fades into the distance.

You got us there! In fact, losing a ship whilst it being under insurance shouldn't even count as a loss. You've made quite the discovery.
Hell, you shouldn't even count the loss as a comparable. If you lose something that doesn't put a dagger in your finances, it doesn't count.
You know what... I like that idea.
Thanks mate!
Guess we can disregard every loss we've ever had.

Well, I think we may have seen the best(worst) that Sev3rance can do in the projection of power as a single holder alliance. Perhaps they cold call upon their allies in Cold Steel or CVA to declare an empire war to improve their strength? Who knows.
But while this explosive sideshow has been continuing Sev3rance mining assets in the pocket have not been terribly well protected either. I think its worth returning the main discussion in this thread to Black Lustrum's core first stage objectives on the index suppression of Sev3rance industry and the 0.0 campaign.
We have the Space and Freedom II thread to discuss their misadventures against our towers.

XV7L-S Developmental Indices Update
Figure: Sev3rance XV7L-S Constellation Development Indices (112.02.12)
We have seen a further Industry Index change with E-YCML system dropping from level 1 to level 0 since 112.01.29. All other XV7L-S constellation industry indices remaining at zero. A lasting drop in the hitherto stable Military Index of KBP7-G from level 5 to level 4 has also been noted over the previous two weeks. In any event, Phase One of Operation Black Lustrum as it pertains to the XV7L-S constellation is complete and the Star Fraction is satisfied with the results and the consequent loss in industrial capability suffered by the Sev3rance alliance. To forestall the inevitable protestations, it is simply a fact that any industrial upgrades installed by Sev3rance are now denied them by their failure to maintain their industry indices. They have lost capability.
Operation Black Lustrum will shortly move into its next phase.

I do really enjoy the sort of creatures that come banging on our doors, and when we open the doors no one is there...
The sort of creatures that talk too much, in love with their own voices, to fill the emptiness and the inevitable void from taking over their senses.
The sort of creatures that run around carrying massive magnifying lenses and making everything either too big or too small, they watch their obliteration of the truth with glee.
The sort of creatures that when you encounter them, they look at you for a long time, then they begin to spit out anything they deem fit as fact about you and anything you do, like they've known you for a very long time, more than you've known yourself.
I so love to watch many organisms and how each life form thirsts for one thing or another to sustain itself, and then evolution plays a role, time and place, there is no end.
The menu is endless, eat whatever you wish, but if you don't like the taste, remember it for the next time.

Asking our enemies to destroy themselves is rarely enough. We need to pull the triggers ourselves.

Operation Black Lustrum has been covered in a balanced fashion by the Interstellar Correspondents in their latest article.
Of note is their correct indentification of this as a distinct effort to those of the AAA and Ushra'Khan alliances, even though it is certainly true that circumstances have resulted in an inevitable link between our efforts and those of the forces thrusting up from Catch into the soft underbelly of the CVA's Providence hegemony.
The struggle continues.

Edited by: Kuan Yida on 02/03/2010 01:04:45 I wonder if my comrades in Star Fraction will acknowledge publicly the fact that Tribal Liberation Force fleets have been raiding Providence and controlling the Dital gate in KBP for a very long time now, in an ongoing and nearly daily campaign over the last year and some months.
The first raid Huang Yinglong joined appears here: http://www.minmatar-militia.org/kb/?a=kill_related&kll_id=34026
The latest was last night: http://www.minmatar-militia.org/kb/?a=kill_related&kll_id=112099
Huang Yinglong as a corp during these raids has logged 1168 kills for 38152.39M ISK of damage inflicted on the enemy and their supporters. Since just the beginning of the year, TLF has gained 3352 kills for 174.44B ISK.
As we of the Victorious Dragons honor SF, we expect SF to honor our deeds in return.

By all means, we shall honour the actions of the Tribal Liberation Force, as we have done on many occasions. Indeed, the valiant efforts of the TLF are rightly acknowledged in the news piece I referenced above and we have thanked them several times for their aid in particular key battles.
I would note that the focus of your raids is, to my mind, somewhat different to the focus of our own actions but of course highly complementary and desirable in itself. Also, of course, our own metrics are somewhat different, as the news piece makes clear.
I welcome your congratulations as to the success of our deeds in this latest campaign by the Star Fraction in Providence, and in particular against Sev3rance, and I happily congratulate you and the fighters of the Tribal Liberation Force on the achievements made against our common foe.
