Edited by: Zathriz on 26/01/2010 05:00:15 Is there a mod that decreases the time it takes between clicking warp and actually entering warp? From a complete stop.
Thanks

As in align time? How about every single inertia mod ever
Inertia Stablizers, Nanofibers, etc
Or acceleration in warp, in which case nothing. and further more why do i even need a sig? |

Edited by: Zathriz on 26/01/2010 05:07:27 Align time is not an issue. Assume the ship is at a stand still and aligned. The time it takes to enter warp after clicking the warp.

Your ship needs to be moving at 75% of its max speed to enter warp.
Things that increase your acceleration help you get to that number faster.

I complcompletely agree. What are those "things" though?

- Inertia Stabilizer
- Nanofiber Internal Structure
- Low Friction Nozzle Joints
- Polycarbon Engine Housing
Those would be the ones that in some way affect agility, thus making you align and accelerate faster. Contrary to popular belief; velocity increasing modules do not affect align time (such as overdrives). ---- The Demigodess with a Conscience - An EVE IC Blog

Inertia stabs, nanofiber mods, low friction nozzle rigs, evasive manuvering skill, orcas and plated BS can use a single cycle of an AB or MWD to get into warp faster, freighters/caps can be webbed after they reach 25% speed to sling shot them into warp.

No such thing. The direction your ship looks like it's facing is purely visual and makes no difference as far as the physics simulation is concerned. All that matters is your velocity, which is a vector.
The way to improve align time is by increasing agility. There are rigs, modules, skills, and implants that do this. Take your pick.

Thnx for all your respones. Guess I had better figure out what mod(s) will give the best bang for the buck.

I'm in love with my nomad implants. Very nice boost to agility.

i can tell you right now the single most effective mod/implant/skill is the inertia stabaliser module, upto 20%.

I prefer nanofibres. Although they're fractionally slower than iStabs for getting you in to warp, they have advantages:
(1) They also increase your overall speed, so if you have to burn back to the gate, you'll do much better.
(2) They dont increase your sig radius, so you're harder to lock and take less damage when you're trying to GTFO. A T2 istab improves your agility by 20% but increases your sig by 11%.

What about increasing the time it takes to enter maximum warp speed? I fitted an AF recently with those warp speed rigs, but this only increases the actual warp speed. My Inertia Stabilizers makes me enter the "warp mode" faster. But what about the time spent going from the warp start to the maximum warp speed? Is this affected by anything?

No. Acceleration is linear - it'll take you the same time to get from 0-max in every case. (Although note, that MWD it won't, because MWDs increase your mass when you switch them on)
Anyway, mods have already been listed. You've a few rigs, such as low friction nozzle joints, and polycarbon engine housing.
And some rigs.
But a handy trick is - if your align time is >10s, you can use a microwarp drive. Start warping, turn it on and off again, and once it stops after 10s, you'll be going >75% max speed, thanks to the MWD acceleration, and warp instantly.

Note that a meta 4 istab has the same agility bonus as a T2 istab BUT a smaller signature bloom penalty.

There's also the good old web trick. You need to have accelerated somewhat in your chosen direction first for it to work, otherwise, yes, it takes the exact same amount of time to go into warp from a stand still.
