Also, DONT ENGAGE ON GATES WITHOUT INTEL... even if this is a troll (which I think it is), let this be a lesson for everyone else. Don't shoot a pirate suspiciously engaging not one, but TWO battleships neither of which have a warp disruptor. You can't jump the gate if you are agressed, so the smart move would have been to slowboat back to the gate with whatever speed mods you had set to overload.

The ships we fly are little digital models. A few lines of code. A collection of pixels on a screen. You haven't lost any real friends in real life, hon. I'd not get too worked up over a little in-game corp drama. It happens, and it's part of the game. 2. On that point: Welcome to EVE. 3. Don't fly what you can't afford to lose (both fiscally, and in this case emotionally). 4. Epic pirates!

No, I totally understand that - people invest a lot of time into EVE and losing a prized ship stings. But if you're ever at the point where you find yourself saying that an action you took in EVE was "the biggest mistake of my life" (as the OP did), it's time to sit down and reconsider.
