Don't fly what you can't afford to lose. It's cliche to say, but it is the golden rule of EVE.

What's with all the "oooh, you're going to get a ban" people? I think you may be the same kids that would tell the teacher "you forgot to give us homework".

These are the kids that get happy in their pants for other people's misfortunes. Who knows why, but there are lots that congregate in this game.

The options are as follows.
A: Give up and quit EVE. 'Lose' at EVE.
B: Dust yourself off and carry on. 'Win' at EVE.
If your friends ditch you over the loss of a few pixels, you are probably better off without them.

Oh the joys of lowsec. If your side has less stuff, you lose. If your side has more stuff, the other side is just bait.

How on earth can you be tanked for angels extravaganza AND a geddon. Plus more the fool you for taking a mach and a CNR to lowsec. Thats just asking for trouble. As said earlier. Don't fly what you'll miss losing.

You don't deserve the dread anyway you suck.

The alliance sucks anyway if they can't accept losses, nobody held a gun to their heads to jump in.
-> you being kicked from corp.

It'd be a pretty epic conclusion if he took me down with him though.
Considering the opening line in your post? Yes. Nice recovery try; but its not going to be enough.
Oh and don't try to edit it, we have you quoted and Eve-Search has it archived.

Ya dude, maybe tanking a geddon with kinetic/explosive might be part of the reason why you failed so hard there. Also, DONT ENGAGE ON GATES WITHOUT INTEL... even if this is a troll (which I think it is), let this be a lesson for everyone else. Don't shoot a pirate suspiciously engaging not one, but TWO battleships neither of which have a warp disruptor. You can't jump the gate if you are agressed, so the smart move would have been to slowboat back to the gate with whatever speed mods you had set to overload.

Okay, my friend is Giribaldi. He changed some things around so it wouldn't be obvious to the people involved, and he'll probably deny any association. He's cool and I love him like a bro, but he's no Jodie Foster so I wouldn't give him my password. Anyway, I think he'd appreciate your support. He'll probably keep playing, but right now he's just sulking over it all. |

A couple of thoughts.
1. If you ever find yourself your a friend crying over the loss of a little digital internet spaceship, then I think it's time to take a step back for a little perspective. EVE is a game. The ships we fly are little digital models. A few lines of code. A collection of pixels on a screen. You haven't lost any real friends in real life, hon. I'd not get too worked up over a little in-game corp drama. It happens, and it's part of the game.
2. On that point: Welcome to EVE.
3. Don't fly what you can't afford to lose (both fiscally, and in this case emotionally).
4. Epic pirates!

Don't fly what you don't wish to lose and don't try to beat pirates at their own game when you're clearly not cut out for it.
OP's corp strikes me as a band of pussies however.

I always hate this kind of weak rationalizing, yes EVE is just a game with internet spaceships but that doesn't mean that people don't put in alot of soul and effort into the game.
It's really no different than an old man dropping his model ship that he's been working hundreds of hours on, it's just some wood, paint and glue. Heck, it's really not any different than losing a key game in a low-profile sport like curling.
Many of us may dismiss model ship building or curling as silly and unimportant, that doesn't mean that they are to everyone.

No, I totally understand that - people invest a lot of time into EVE and losing a prized ship stings.
But if you're ever at the point where you find yourself saying that an action you took in EVE was "the biggest mistake of my life" (as the OP did), it's time to sit down and reconsider.

Edited by: Violet Serena on 27/01/2010 17:42:38 Pirates had capital ships sitting around they could fire up in response to your response? Never hoida sucha ting!
I feel your pain (once lost dual 2-boxed Maels), but well-established pirates probably ain't noobs, which in this case, means they have tons of deeply powerful stuff gathering dust looking for an excuse to be used.
