NAY NAY
no way do you do rollback... its not that bad, and the issues that happened are at best can be summed up to the ignorance or negligence of the player... when all the info and changes are in front of your face
and ppl already get compensated
i dont see what the problem was, it was far better then most have thought it would have been
Plus they are doing there best to compensate player loses due to bugs or even misinforming or what notą but in general still all the info was thereą maybe not enough warnings but seems like all the warnings came in 1 or 2 days later so I donĘt see the major issue at all.
on my side things were great with exodus... lag was expected based on how things were handled but that isnt that major of an issue as some things could have gone far worse
I could see others being quite frustrated but that depends who are you mad at more? at your self or the dev's for the changes hehe support Idea: QuickInfo an alternative to ShowInfo

Edited by: Iratus Caelestis on 26/11/2004 08:14:32 I'm going to start a new poll.
I think we should introduce a feature whereby every time I lose a ship then we have a rollback.
It'll be like quicksave.
I'm a big fan of this idea obviously so please lend your support.

lol funny topic. Anyway, Exodus is alot more stable than some of the Castor patches in the past... lol now THERE was some fun!
Welldone CCP, it was a big job, and you managed to pull it off quite successfully!!
So I again join with the one voice and say NAY!
Feel silly now don't you :D

Originally by: Solant While I am against the idea of a rollback... obviously in this case it would be a rollback for players, and not the entire server itself. Clearly rolling back the server would eliminate the entire point of a rollback in the first place... durr...
Edit: i get what hes talking bout now. still a bad idea.
And hell no to removing Exodus. Leave it be. Let it get worked out. Don't be such a bunch of whining idiots about losing ships

In fact no, I prefer the topic of your other thread.
Lets have CCP refund half a million dollars because you lost a ship and we lagged for 3 days.
Then we can murder the devs first born and sacrifice the blood of 1,000 goats(e.cx) to appease the god of Shiva and vote you supreme emperor of Eve.

So I'm the only person that still remembers when CCP DID A ROLLBACK?
Yes folks, they did rollback about 36 hours or so of gametime sometime in 2003.
As for Exodus, CCP have got to learn to treat customers like customers and not like idiots standing around waiting to be hit on the head with a sledgehammer.
Contraband should have been introduced with a week of warning to all players from the NPCs, saying that in a weeks time they would be fined and their ships probably destroyed.
Instead people undock (with patch notes not available) and are instantly killed for flying around with Ectoplasm or Small Weapons or Khumaaks, all of which seemed pretty harmless items.
There's a countless ways to get your customers up to date without resorting to blowing their head off and then say "you should have stayed in station until they released patch notes so you could read what will kill you and what won't". Suffice to say someone needs to get their head sorted at CCP.

Patch notes were available before Exodus went live weren't they? Even if they weren't there are a couple other sources of information, like the forums. It really is in the players own best interest to be keeping track of the changes coming in Exodus before they decide to undock. So if someone doesn't try hard to keep themselves informed, we blame CCP? Seems backwards to me.

Absolute definate NAY from me. You have to be fair to the scope of what has been done.. It's not a minor undertaking. Also, give credit where it is due, if you loose something to a bug, in most cases petitioning it will get you your stuff back. Don't forget there are patch notes and a lot of this stuff has been on the old shiva pages for quite some time.

NAY!
Jeez...
Oh, and could all who vote 'Yay' please write their age as well - or just announce whether they are Older or Younger than 8 years. That will make it easier to decide whether it is worth the bother to try and reason with their viewpoints. As it is now, it is impossible to tell... --------------------------------------------- When you have to kill a man, it takes nothing to be polite |
