Also in 0.0 a mining op stands out like a sore thumb and some other alliances meanies with come and disrupt the op within 30 mins of starting of it and probably kill your cans and haulers with no penalties to sec standing etc. In your deadspace bolt hole you are pretty much safe from other players.
In 0.0 it is often 5-10 jumps between Crokite systems and refineries meaning you have to haul this through ultra hostile space. In empire I doubt you even need to leave the system to refine
and you ask why we don't go there? there's your answer, i want fun, not mindles ganking everytime i venture forth.
crokite in those amounts is too much though, and it should defenitely not respawn. but a occasional small find in empire i can live with as long as it's a rare find and stays rare.

now tell me if i am rong but. with zydrine at 4k a unit the cost of what you need of zydrine for a b.s is around 16 mill right?? so with a drop of oo lets say down to 500 a unit that should drop the price range for the zydrine needed to o 5 or 6 mill. so battle ships whould go down to 90-92 mill with insurence at 108mill pay out that would give the cover of all modules (not named).. it would not be a huge hit to the market i think.. so you would stell get hit with a loss of 29 mill for insurence if i am right
god i love math

imo, i think it should be crok spawning at random (very rarely) in 0.1 - 0.4 belts. these random crok rocks should contain about 2k max of crok and shouldn't respawn there again.. until the god of randomness chooses the belt to be the winner again ;) ----- ----- -----

Exactly!
Quote:
You say it was such a risk getting to this roid through some npcs. Well NPC's are in 0.0 too you know, and they are harder than 0.4 complex npcs too so these 'alliance meanies' have to deal with them too.
Actually, from what I've seen and heard, complexes are much more of a challenge, especially the very hard ones. Plus, I've often read how the brilliant players in 0.0 can control the NPCs. Just one of these examples is to be in a very large belt, and move between the two sides. Dont even need to kill the NPCs then.

There should not be endless respawning Crokite in empire space. I can only guess the respawn is a bug.
I agree - I only think it would be good to have the occasional small random crokite roid, for example as a reward for getting through a complex, as something nice to take home in return for the effort - to help empire industrialistis build things they need. Even to help empire corp manfucaturing.

There're some things that should stay in 0.0, there's plenty to do already in Empire.
Agreed.

Probably only because someone mined it out Shifur. If you know how to farm a roid I bet you could farm the crokite for quite a long time.

I like how ship destruction in 0.0 is constantly described as "mindless ganking".
If you are niave enough to go somewhere without knowledge of the area, act like you own the place, and encounter a large amount of opposition unprepared and with no back-up --- you deserve death. EVE-I.com~THE Info source |

I've only briefly read this thread and it seems that all of you people are assuming that the crokite is the reward at the end of the complex. I have a friend who has found 2 rogue drone complexes (difficulty 3/10) where there has been a crokite asteroid in the 1st bit. he happily mined it in a medium mining barge and used his 2nd account to haul it. He got attacked by the odd drone every now and again.

I can only speak for XF space really.
We maintained a protectorate (immensea) where normal peeps could go mine while we shot pirates up untill CA declared war over it.
We dont have Crokite.
any good roid regens extremely slowly - its doubtfull a whole 0.0 system respawns 400 mill of ore every day
Not all alliances are intent just on killing people . ----- Apologys for any rambling that may have just occurred.

right, you tell me how i am supposed to "learn" the area when i get blown up without so much as a word, except things as "looser" or something related? i don't mind pirates, but some of you aren't acting like pirates but more like a bunch of mindless drones, not meaning you here, but you get my meaning.
my ventures into 0.0 haven't been good and they don't particularly make me want to go there again.

The problem is that enemies like to use new accounts in NPC corps as spies and recon units. Which then means all NPC corps become kill on sight. So, don't ever go into 0.0 space in an NPC corp .
Just be careful where you go. Pirates will kill you if they see you, and alliances will kill you if you go into their space. I won't even start on pirate alliances ====================================
