Yesterday night a Minmatar plot to outfit slaves for a rebellion deep within the imperial heartlands was uncovered and foiled.
A convoy with a load of 'frozen food' and 'antibiotics' was stopped by a Praetorian taskforce in Tash-Murkon.
As sensor readings of the cargo were grabled and incoherent the imperial cruiser Pilum demanded to send a boarding crew aboard for further investigation. This was denied by the leader of the Minmatar convoy, who pointed out that he was on a humanitarian mission to a mining colony recently destroyed by the impact of a meteorite that allowed for no delay.

Further attempts to solve the situation in a peacefull manner proved fruitless, as the commander of named convoy refused to jettison part of his cargo. Fire was opened and a smaller Hawker was destroyed. As indicated by imperial intell the cargo of the destroyed vessel consisted of Railguns destined to outfit an extremist Minmatar splinter cell believed to be operating in the Tash-Murkon region.
All of the ships of the convoy were destroyed and the crew executed on the spot. A total of 102k rounds of small and medium ammunition and over 150 Railguns were seized or destoyed.

This was only the first strike in a series of sorties to hit Minmatar terrorists within the Empire - weapons smuggle will not be tolerated. We hope that free pilots thinking about earning 'easy cash' by dealing with shady Minmatar individuals will see this as a warning.

To all who hear this, The Amarians are lying about this incident.
It was releife goods, which was transported to a mining colony of our people. The haulers would then ferry women and children back to Minmatar space in the empty haulers, but sadly the Amarian NAVY intercepted our attempt to bring relief, and now we also have lost contact to our mining colony, fearing that all men are dead and all the women and children sold into slavery, alas this grim notion is stirring my battlelust. we will revenge this attack on defenseless spacevessels and hunt down thoose who where responsibil for this vile and foul attack, Be fair warned Amarr, The dogs of war are barking at your door.

I am not sure if Phased Plasma rounds and Railguns can be called relief goods exactly. Your attempt to cover this blatant attempt to harm the Empire will apparently not succeed.

The seized goods alone are evidence enough - what kind of facts can you provide? Nothing. You come empty-handed and want to make people believe a ridicolous story without any kind of proof for it. Try harder next time if you want to put the Guard into discredit.

This from a trecharous Amarrian? How many millions of our people do you ship in hiding throughout the Universe? You make me sick. Where is your proof that the convoys carried weapons? Of course, you don't have any because you destroyed the ships and executed their crews. The guns could of easily been planted at the scene- such disgusting acts of butchery we have come to expect from your race, and the Minmatar people will no longer tolerate it. Be warned Amarrian scum, your rein over this galaxy is coming to an end. Soon you will find enemies every way you turn; your servants shall rise up against you and will be chased from your homes with your trousers round your ankles, begging to be spared. Mercy thee shall not find, justthe justice you deserve from years of maltreatment and opression.
Times are changing. Change with them or be swept away in a tide of vengful fury.

Leave it to the Amarr! Who else, on First Contact Day, would be so bold as to commit such an attrocity. These crimes were committed against innocent Minmata traders in clear violation of the Yoiul Conference.

Lists of the victims are currently being posted in all stations within the Republic. Those who have lost kin, as I have, should join me in assuring the guilty Amarr that shipments needed to relieve the suffering and oppression of our peoples will continue.

Only the crewmembers of the offending convoy vessels were put to a fiery death in space. Your propaganda is hillarious.

The 'arguments' raised here were expected as indicated in the post scriptum. The ammunition and the railguns speak their own language. Please note that the ammount of goods confiscated and destroyed was far to big to be carried by the Praetorian ships involved in this operation. Feel free to request the sensor logs of nearby stations from Concorde or the local authorities. These Minmatars were caught with their pants down and there is nothing you could do to cover it up - the truth is on our side.

Sidenote:As a defense force of the Empire and the Emperor we will not watch rebellious scum deliver weapons to terrorists under our noses on *any* day. If those smugglers thought so they must have been even dumber than I imagined.

I grieve for all those that have suffered the loss of a loved one in this tragedy. To you Ogmund I can only assure you that soon the 1st Preatorian Guard will have more than unarmed transports to worry about. How vain the Amarr are to be proud of a victory against merchant ships. Well, soon Legatus Tharrn we free Minmatar will test your mettle with a ferocity beyond your imagination. Without commenting it I want to quote one of my Decurios:

'...I would only add the reminder of one of the Spartan 300 holding the pass at Thermopylae in 480 BC against the vast Persian army. When he was told that the number of arrows alone the Persian army fired would darken the sun he simply replied.......

Not a single Spartan survived the battle at Thermopylae. Keep that in mind. King Leonidas were sent to his death by the Ephors and elders, refused reinforcements and betrayed to his death by one of his "equals".

Even if the Amarrian Empire could trace it's origins back to these men of ancient times, it is nothing to brag about, it is only proof of how deep corruption and treachery runs in your blood.

Wyrm I've been following this war of words between our races here and found your remarks on my quote Tharrn posted particularly interesting. Since I've felt the impact of Minmatar missles on my shields in the past and attest to your races's eloquence in the language of war I was equally impressed to see a Minmatar speak so eloquently on ancient Earth history.

But first, on the matter of these convoy raids. If our races were honest we would both admit we often send brave men in poorly equiped Industrials to do dangerous work because it's "convenient". The fact is these same freighter captains are often far braver than those of us from either race who command from the bridge of a heavy cruiser.

The unfortunate truth of the matter is the convoy we intercepted was carrying weapons for the resistence and while I understand your races belief in the justice of your cause we are equally duty bound to oppose that resistence. I can however state that no true warrior, Amarr or Minmatar, in the quiet of his own thoughts takes honor in destroying an unescorted Industrial left by it's government to die. War however often drops unpleasant tasks in our laps and brave Minmatar captains have done no less.

Now to my quote...the facts you raised about Thermopylae are precisely why I picked it. The 1st Praetorian Guard finds itself in the same postion Leonidas and his band found themselves.

We have been told Oracle, a corp many times our size, is considering declaring war on us. We are a small unit it seems often forgotten by Amarr with few allies who seem willing to defend the Empire. If that is our lot we are prepared to accept...all races and Empires throughout history have spent good men's lives for the sake of "Politics". If we are to be spent in that manner so be it.

The truth of Thermopylae however is the Leonidas's betrayal is forgotten....the victory of the great Persian army is forgotten....the honor of Leonidas and the fallen Spartans has never been forgotten.

If the day arrives that Oracle and Minmatar in all their strength come against us, myself and the men I serve with, will on that day be prepared to "fight in the shade" as well.
And while we may share the fate of the Spartans we will certainly share their glory.

I respect your words Wyrm and hope war never brings us the choice of firing on each other.

Oh....one last thing to ponder about Themopylae you neglected to mention. While Persia was victorious, the spark that Spartan courage lit in Greece at those "Gates of Fire" ultimately consumed the Persians.

May fortune follow you Captain.
