Never had before Incarna, never will after the most recent expansion.
WiS is just a free-as-in-beer beta test for WoD technology. If your throat is not as sore as most others after having it shoved down, I'm happy for you. Now, could you WiSsers please return to your Farmville avatar building, please, and leave us internet spaceship and politics/subterfuge/capitalism/etc. junks alone? {{ Inject code here }} |

EVE Online is set in space, in a far away future, in a world of unprecedented depth and magnitude. Your aim is to establish yourself as a major mover and shaker, trusted by your friends and respected by your enemies. Your means of accomplishing this will lie in your business acumen, social skills, Machiavellian thinking and cunning combat strategies. To back that up, you have access to an array of sophisticated equipment, deadly weapons, state of the art spaceships and connections to mega-corporations and crime syndicates.

I slightly was sarcastic, but when you conquer a region with your space babe without a ship we got problems..
EVE is having growing pains fitting into this new environment and some people will like it, some just don't care about aesthetics and want some actual content to play with in the game.
If I was asked "what is eve" without explaining something as boring as your character aesthetics, I rather say it's a space(ship) game. |

tbh i like the idea of WiS - it certainly adds some atmosphere to the somehow onesided eve universe - sometimes it's nice to see that there is something behind all the fighting and roaming trough the space in a beautiful spaceship....
BUT: i don't like how ccp is handling the game; the core of eve allways was and allways should be the space ships and all it belongs to it. ccp dev's, and especially the marketing wannabes, should care about the core, they should canstantly ballance where ballancing is needed and fix bugs where bugs were found instead loosing themselves "in the feature vision of eve"; having many nice-to-hear-about-it ideas, but not finishing/fixing the old ones... |

You're still in a clone so there is no risk of perma death. WIS without some kind of pvp combat will be seriously lame. A bar without the occcasionally bar brawl will be boring as hell.
Also if you dock up dozens of combat pilots in a station to gamble and drink (nevermind about drugs and strippers) you're going to get fights. Even if carrying weapons is banned people would still use plastic cutlery or their teeth. |

CCP's plans for Incarna in relation to EVE appear to be as well thought out as a seven year old boy's first adventure with a box of strike anywhere matches and a can of gasoline.

This made me almost laugh, at least giggle. xD
I'm looking forward to what CCP has to offer us with Ambulation. (i just call it that now) I'd love to see bars, people in bars, people playing games in bars.
Yeah, the games. The one they showed in a video at ... fanfest ? Can't recall where i saw it, but it looked interesting.
Also, actually RUNNING a bar would probably be fun, too ! PRICES FOR EXOTIC DANCERS WILL GO WAY UP !! BUY NOW !!!!!!
And now, for clarification ... if it sucks... well ... then i don't give a ****, i'm a capsuleer anyway and i left the planet because i actually DID NOT WANT TO SEE ANOTHER PERSON EVER AGAIN ! (oh i love RP ^^)

Quoted from another thread.
iyammarrok wrote:seriously... you'd think from the amount of whining i have seen from the CSM that the last 10 expansions have done nothing to FiS...
there has been ONE whole expansion where 'ambulation' has been, after so many months (years) of waiting, released and showcased. just one. and even then some of the little things that irritated people in space have been fixed.
not to mention our shiny new turrets...
it seems a little harsh of the CSM to whine this much about one expansion, especially one that was specifically geared towards the release of ambulation ( WiS).
Ambulation has been planned for how long now? CCP has been saying it intended to do such an expansion for a long time, and a lot of people were complaining that it had not yet happened. now that it has finally happened, all i see is complaints that CCP have spent the necessary time and resources to make it happen.
you can't have it both ways, and personally, i think it is about time that WiS was released.
one last point... to those who are complaining, and in some cases performing acts that could well be seen as IG-sabotage (Jita riots etc)
CCP have given us a great game, and so far, twice a year, have given us FREE expansions to allow us to use more of the universe they have created for us, mos other games charge as much as the original game costs for each expansion, and release them on a much slower basis.
I would personally like to thank the Dev team for their hard work, and reiterate my belief that WiS is a good thing for the game. Immersion is a good thing, and it is something that EvE has been lagging behind on for some time.
