ah well from my reply on page 1:
"and after 20mins they are free to go again, concord aggression only lasts 15mins. good to wait 20 because you get another agro timer for showing up at the station."
Are you suggesting it took Concord over 20 minutes to show up?! Thick or troll?
If one of them really managed to evade Concord, no matter how they did, they ought to be banned. Evading Concord is, under every circumstance, considered an exploit. -- Gorgeous, delicious, deculture! |

The only thing I dislike about suicide ganks is that when the gankers lose their ships they don't have any monetary losses. This is not balanced.
I could just rat and do anoms in 0.0, make a ton of ISK........safely without the risk of losing my ship. Then goto highsec, collect tears and maybe once in a while a really golden drop, well not lose any isk and go back to safe 0.0 to work up my sec-status in a nice and safe place.
I hope the next patch fixes with the change insurance issues put a bit more ISK-risk on suicide gankers.

okay here is a timeline
t0: he warps in and gets shot t ~20ish sec: concord probably powndizzled the inf1del's ships t 1min: inf1dels dock up t16 mins: concord + station aggro end t20 mins: with no aggro undock in a new geddon
why the op didn't see the concord response I don't know, but I really don't think the Inf1dels are the exploiting kind, especially not when a 5mil isk gank bs is on the line... also I seriously doubt there is a way to evade concord especially when they are trying to go all out dps to drop a mission running bs.
so no I'm suggesting when the op saw Tyko 20mis later Tyko's GCC was over and he was a free man again.
(oh and feel free to say you trolled me good, there are just enough people out there that seem to have no idea how concord works that a more detailed explanation is always worth it.)

This timeline sounds plausible.
And I was thinking the same thing: there's no evidence at all that it was the same Geddon the OP saw. Inf1del guy probably just took his loss, docked up, and got into a spare ship. After all, it's not like the loss of his ship was unanticipated. :P
Evading Concord, far as I know, *really* is impossible. I've heard of guys cyno-ing out in time; but that's considered a bannable exploit too, so that practise stopped soon enough too. :) -- Gorgeous, delicious, deculture! |

most people know this could have and is most likley to be what happened but when i quoted what tippa said i did it for a reason. the gm's are busy and they'd rather not be looking into stuff like this but not too long ago there was shall we call them characters activley exploiting bugs that have since been reported as squished. the gm's need to know so they can report if them bugs have "accidentally" crept back in

The problem is that nothing in his story even hints at there being an exploit. He outright states that he didn't stay around for that long after he went *pop* – quite possibly quickly enough not to see the outcome; he outright states that he observed the same guy(s) in the same (type of) ship(s) 20 minutes later – far too late say anything about whether CONCORD got involved or not, since the the timers involved ran out ages ago. He has nothing that would even come close to implying that there's something fishy going on. He had no reason to go to the GM:s to begin with, and no reason to come out guns blazing with the "omgzpossibleh4x" attitude.
Hence my response: had he asked, he would have been told that no, there's nothing about his scenario that points to any kind of exploit or CONCORD avoidance taking place.
While there is certainly a possibility that some old bug might have crept back in, that's completely irrelevant to this situation – the only thing that would suggest that this might be the case is the OP:s "I got pwnd, must be 'sploit!!1" attitude, and that is a complete waste of GM time and resources. ——— “If you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡… you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.” — Karath Piki |

I must apologize for doing this, but i have seen soooo much butthurt in this thread, that i simply had to give it a bump, hoping that some of those butthurt ppl will continue to flame eachother or even flame me for posting this ;)
I just love reading whining threads, as i myself have been easily frustrated and annoyed by pirates when i was starting out EVE (i learned to get over it the hard way)...
As for the whole high-sec vs low-sec debate, i fully support the "no safe zone" idea some have already mentioned, however i also hope that insurance payouts will get nerfed, not because of suicide gankers, just simply because i am not using it, hence i do not want others using it :P (i am very self-centered i know)
One more thing needs to be addressed here, someone mentioned something about fair fights... That is simply wrong, imagine if EVE would work like this: - You go and grind (safely) for you desired pvp ships/gears - You switch to those ships/gear - You go to pvp (come out alive or lose your ship) - You go back to grinding (safely) - Repeat the cycle - BORING!!! It is the unpredictability that spices up EVE, and makes it the game it is...
And finally a message to the infidels: Keep fighting the good fight, without the likes of you EVE would slowly die, whether 'carebears' want to admit it or not...
Best regards, J. |

I'd like to know how hardcore you guys are prior finding your preys, inf1dels. The whole "stalking" behind the scene. Before the hunt is on.
Anyway, /tiphat for finding a fun, lucrative way to make isk while still doing PvP (albeit, non concensual in this case ).

I second, that this was one of the most useless posts, and I second, that this also has some of the most useless replies. Like a bad penny, keeps showing up, even though the OP bid his fare-thee-well, and toasted the Infideles.

Why did they do it? Are they bad people? Is it haxx? Or is it because YOU FLEW A SHIP WORTH BILLIONS, TOOK NO EFFECTIVE ACTION TO PROTECT YOURSELF AND THEY MADE LOTS OF ISK FROM KILLING YOU?
who knows, could be anything.

Looks like they are even posting their losses to Concord now. And why is there still nothing that sets content apart from signature? Is that intentional or technically imposible? |

I don't think suicide ganking is overpowered - even with insurance the way it is. The op is right, these guys had to do a decent amount of work and logistics to get 10-20 million isk. Moreover you lose sec status so can't do it very much.
IMO Suicide ganking makes trading more fun.
Nevertheless I still haven't heard any confirmation that all the suicide Gank BSs were lost. Were all 7 lost?

Ofcourse all ships were lost. We do not cheat just to keep a battleship that we get paid to lose.
If a ship fires a shot on another in high sec without being in the same corp or at war concord ends them.

No insurance payout if you suicide gank. CCP tries to make a "realistic" game with realistic markets and such. Well .. IRL, an insurance company doesn't pay out when you use your MPV for breaking into a shop to rob it and the police shoots at your car. If you use your insurence too often, the insurance fee goes up and after 6 accidents in a year they throw you out and no-one is going to insure you anymore. Think about it if insurance in EVE was ran by players and not an NPC thing.
That's only realistic, EVE is a sim after all. Perhaps time to simulate insurance companies in a bit more realistical way too.

Originally by: Ion Kirst Suicide ganking---you guys sure went thru a lot of time and effort for what? Must be for the few seconds of pleasure you all had. (Does that relate back to your RL too.)
Just so you know it isn't a lot of time and effort to buy, insure and fit T1 battleships expressely for the purpose of ganking you. In fact, it is certainly a lot less time & effort that you put in getting your Gist XL booster which - if it had dropped - would've paid for all their ships & turned a tidy profit for them all. That's why they ganked you, pure and simple.
