Interactive storylines...
Because Eve would die quickly if you didn't spoonfeed additional "content", this is an admission that your content of late is short on nourishment.

In the "The Burning Life" novel Drem actually talks to an incarnation of Sansha.

Originally by: Kazuo Ishiguro When these events were previously abolished, CCP cited the extremely inefficient assignment of resources that was required to run them effectively - a large number of staff need to devote a large chunk of their time to something that can only be experienced by a tiny fraction of the player base, and cannot be repeated for the benefit of anyone else.
This was before CCP-Atlanta, who they mentioned in the Dev Blog. A lot of the content job openings I have seen have been in Atlanta as well, so it seems like essentially they have a whole office now to work on this, without having to take much away from the group in Iceland.
CCP feel free to clarify this.
Originally by: Kazuo Ishiguro This is quite apart from any timezone-related unfairness that might result from most of CCP being based in Iceland.
Are these concerns still relevant?
A lot of EU prime time is afternoon for Atlanta. Some of the Atlanta staff might have to work into the evening for US prime time, but that's not an issue if they don't come in at 9AM. (I wouldn't if I knew I was going to be working until 10PM!)
AU/Asia TZ might get the short end of the stick, but I am sure both of those RPers can take one for the greater good.

First off, AWESOME!!!! Great to see this happening, well done CCP and ty.
Now to be picky, I really hope this works, the potential for horrible ****-up is huge here, not just in terms of the near-certain accusations of unfairness that will arise, but also whether the content/events themselves will be any good. It seems that those who write the fiction can do a decent enough job (I've certainly read far worse sci-fi many times) but recently alot of the pve content has been a bit ill-advised (the gallente fw storyline arc for all gallente corps anyone?) or at best just near copy/pastes of existing content, and since I assume these events will be designed as pve experiences I really hope we get something somewhat diferent from recent additions. (Not saying there shouldn't be potential for pvp, ofc I expect most if not all of these events will take place in lo/nullsec, with all the risks inherent to those areas :))
/me crosses flippers, hopes for potentially awesome addition to be truly awesome...

That is AWESOME!
Where can we read up the events which happened in the (close and distant) past? Where can we get more information besides the chronicals, especially about those events?

Will the players involved in the events be served on a first come, first serve basis?
Or will choice loyalists be informed before hand? The invasion incidents for example, would Sansha loyalists be informed before hand "Come serve your Nation" or is it only if they show up at all? ______

Edited by: Aynen on 11/05/2010 21:20:58 I just came from the Sansha incursion in Caldari space. I arrived fashionably late, but it's fun to see things moving, even if I only catch glimpses. For me, seeing an unusual messege in local is sometimes enough to make me feel like I was 'part of it'. It doesn't require a huge event available at my doorstep. Spreading the events in such simple ways should be relatively easy right? As long as what's happening in each system in which it happens is unique, a text messege would even suffice. Noone but the people in that particular local channel would have that piece of the puzzle. But many people across many locals would have a piece at all.

I sincerely hope is here to stay, and past mistakes will serve as guideline to improve things in the future.

How nice... once again return the little events for the few 'in the know', but without the opportunity to get some spiff little toys.
So, will hostiles be able to willy-nilly engage event actors without CONCORD repercussion as they used to do in the past, completely ruining them just for the LOLs?

The primary mission of Operation Ishaeka is to repurpose StainÆs combined intra-empire taskforce for investigation into increased Nation communications throughout the Gallente Quarter; to intercept and decrypt new communications for priority threat assessment; to provide planetary surveillance for ground forces investigating key planets; and to be prepared to reinforce combined DED/empire fleets within Stain as directed. This taskforce is enacting Phase I of Operation Ishaeka.

This.
For Eve, this is something I've experienced quite often myself, out in nullsec, since Eve appears to have a primarily European base. Much love to my European friends but I'm curious if the timing of these events will give us U.S. players, with a 9 to 5 job, a chance to participate as well. I wasn't around for the originals, but like others, I heard about them and felt sorry I missed out.
I'd imagine the events being primarily done over the weekend or summat. We'll see.

Whats the problem? People can make more isk loot whoring on jita undock. Just a pity that these guys don't have the tools to create events where some actors are unable to do anything other than sit there slowly dying whilst spamming local.

And here come the naysayer's, trolls, and cynics.
No matter what's in the expansion, how good the change, how cool the mechanic. Someone, somwhere, will ***** about it.
-(Though, I must say im surprised at the content of the thread. I expected the overall reaction to be significantly more negative and trollish, instead their's only a few of them around, 1 or 2 "Reasonable" and the rest are pretty excited for the change)-

Here's to hoping the next dev blog is "The Return of the old cyno effect" - It's not "Play through a pre-set story, become stronger, do endgame". Gameplay is open ended, and you make your own story. Unless you're too afraid of 'pvp grief' to do anything relevant |

Does this mean that events only happen during US Office hours, or are they available 24 hours?
