Howmuch do you make an hour mining Ark and such? Howmuch does a player make mining Ice and such?
If I look at it I think you could mine in a few days enough to buy the isotopes you need to run your POS and even have someone deliver the crap to you. The people mining the Ice however have to spend a lot more work and efford to mine it all for you compared to the Mega and Zyd your bringing in. So if I compare the both you would still make loads of ISK mining the Morphite, Mega and Zyd, buying the isotopes and even have them delivered at your doorstep. Yes, you will see a derease in your regular income for some time. But prices in Isotopes will go down because there will be many contracts on mining and delivery of Isotopes. Mining for 100 mill in Morphite, mega and Zyd is way faster then for 100 mill in Isotopes. Plus the fact that some rare Isotopes are only available in risky space so you have yet another trade commodity at hand to squeeze ISK out of the Empire miners. If you work it out well and plan, use good logistics and such in the long run you will be out even better because you can start cornering the T2 production aswell since you can make amounts of T2 comps at whim and thus set prices. Yes this will take time and initial effort. But didn't conquering your alliance space take time and effort aswell to begin with?
Better to try and fail, then to fail due to not trying |

Wow, a hostage situation. I'm sure the basques won't be any part of this ridiculous claim though.

I think both the thread starter and me thought Exodus will bring something fun to the Game with POS and stuff. But as long as I can't take part in every aspect of running a POS (in reasonable time) it aint fun to run. It just becomes a tool. And I am not going to bother with something that requires so much work if it aint fun. If I could mine it locally it would make stuff a little better.
I guess someone have said this already , but since there is no voting on this forum I have to make a full post somewhere to say what I think about it.

Well its much better if u have corp mates that can help you. Not supposed to be easy/cheap to run stations/starbase. Its for ppl that work as a TEAM.

For the Risk I Should have access to High Iso bearing Ice .. Simple as that.. anyone can setup a pos in a .3 with good ice 1-2 jumps away with 0 and i mean 0 risk of getting shot down on the way..
I however have to Haul 60 jumps to my area?.. through 0.0 with pirates alliances and many other nasties.. NOT including Highend NPC's in the belts..
Granted I cant have everything and I dont have easy access to Empire's NPC markets or other player's goods.. I give that up by living out in deep space..
Give me the ice i need... Simple as that..
Sorry but you are a typical reflection of todays society, you want it all and you want it now. - Consume/greed
You didnĘt really put any planning or preparation into this did you? No...
Otherwise you'd have realised before you plonked your base down 60 jump in-the-middle-of-nowhere, that there wasn't the materials needed locally to sustain a POS. Now instead of admitting that, you come here and complain that you want all the required materials to be placed on your doorstep.
Now, as has been stated elsewhere, unless you are some mega corp running a POS isn't going to be easy. The game is moving towards smaller corps having to specialise in certain areas of the game and this would be where your ice miners/traders come in. Make contracts, interact with other corps, adapt, overcome or fail, the choice is yours. You're too narrow minded to see the bigger picture intended, just like every other person moaning about ice in 0.0
Don't come here and whine because of your own poor decision.

AND All you whiners saying Oh you cant have everything... Come live out in 0.0 space 60+ jumps from the first empire zone... and then you tell me how much fun it is when you need to mine the "Lowgrade" ice to run your Pos..
Then you can and have my permission to come back here and say Oh its not that bad if you really think that..

i would love to, man. too bad everyone is 0.0 space is way too stingy to let others come and play. 0.0 dwellers turn away good pilots every single day. i've been out there, and have been asked, told, and threatened to leave. it's not cool at all. but, hey, that's the way it is.
my 60+ jumps is riddled with pirates, chokepoints, npc rats, undockable player stations, and paranoid alliances. your 60+ jumps has CONCORD and gate rats equivilent to the bunny in everquest... big whip!
t3h r4bb1t 0wns j00, n0ob!
there is a fine, but dissasterous line between a fart and a shart. i suggest you make sure which side you want to be on... |
