My expereince as a new player was: OMG Dominix is so ugly I'll never fly such a ship. Ever.
Guess what am I flying now ?
I actually begin to like it. Dominix has ... bulk. It reminds me the thick torso of a bull, or that of a motocycle. Anyway, it appears manly.
Megathron hull, I liked it from day one, but came to like the Dominix better. While it is not a sleek design, it has a strong character.
So I have arrived to an understanding, what states: strong individuality > immediate likability.
PS. Tastes ar relative. De gustibus, non est disputandum.

I strongly disagree. Gallente ships are by far the best looking. Followed by amarr, then caldari, and lastly the slaves... Er minmatar.
I actually switched to hybrids (as much as they suck) just to fly a mega. So sexy.
A few ships need a good run over though. Dominix for one, should look like a mini carrier. Myrm looks stupid too. And I hate the ishkur hull but other than that gallente are golden.

This. Although if they're going to re-texture the Domi like they did with the Scorp, I can see how they could make it look like a mini-carrier without losing the character the Domi has.
The Imicus just needs to die a horrible death. They also need to give me back my green Maulus skin for the Helios.

Amarr ships all look like birds and that gets really repetitive in their ship designs. I like Gallente, it seems like the developers told the artist to take some acid or something and just draw a spaceship and they look very unique. Of course some of them are very ugly, but I think all the races have at least a couple ugly ships. Minmatar ships are my favorite, since they look like a piles of scrap put together it reminds me of old pirates that used to put all kinds of patches on their sails because they were all tore up from past conflict.
Also Gallente women are going to be so hot when we get to walk in the stations

Actually, I think the Imicus should be made more of a drone boat and the entire drone boat lineup redone to have some sort of cohesive theme. Hopefully in line with the Myrm. But at least something that doesn't look like a hairdryer or an inverted shoe. It makes me sad that the Arbi line, the Worm, the Ishkur, and the new Scorpion are the only decent looking drone boats.
But seriously, I can overlook all of that if you just give me my Helios back.

Whaaat? I can't believe you all would focus on the Domi. Yeah, the Domi is a good cheap work-horse ship, and it is ugly, but I LOVE the megathron, hyperion, Myrm, and our cap ship hulls. They're incredibly sexy. I haven't flown anything smaller than a bc in a while besides an ishy, but considering what we're up against (caldari and minmatar ships are hideous and amarr ships don't have much style), i'd say we win the overall looks hands-down. If you hate our best mission ship being ugly, take a look at the drake, it's 100x as popular and just at stupid looking once you've started at it for more than 10 mins.

On the topic of butt-ugly ships, has anyone else had problems with the Catalyst? Whenever I see my corpie fly it, half of its model is detatched from the other ship and glitching around all over the place.
But yeah, I pity the Gallente for having such crappy ships. Although I want my old Scorp model back and I want to keep the Osprey the way it is, so my opinion may not count for much.

I believe what the gallente are really missing are trees in space.
That way, you can have your navy mega completely under camouflage, ready to burst out of a copse of space trees at a moments notice.

I think many gallente models are great, megathron and thorax are great looking and I even quite like the happy vexor model - but the domi is just fugly, even though I find it a great ship to fly.
Would be nice if it was less bulbous i quite like the ideas of it being styled as more of a large vexor or myrm, or even a mini carrier. At the moment it does just look like a big booger. Also not keen on the Excuror or Brutix models myself.

Dominix, Megathron, "The Fat man", Incursus, Navitas, Atron, Maulus, Catalyst, Thorax, Vexor, Nyx, Thanatos, Obelisk... These are all beautiful ships, incredibly pleasing to the eyes and especially for a SciFi buff like my self. I honestly think OP is trolling.
Plus if there ever was a hull that CCP needed to use for a new tech 2 class (Don't care what kind of class just the next one to use frigate hulls) the Navitas is the one. It's seriously underused. Its such a beautiful ship

I just don't like the verticle ships much. Like the myrm. It's like a rocket ship that flys sideways. (and yeah it doesn't help that someone posted here saying it looks like it wants to give you a hug)
Even though there is no air in space I want some aerodynamics in the ship design. Just pretend they need to take off from planets with an atmosphere.
The ishkur reminds me of a japanese beetle.

I dont think gallente ships are bad overall, some need fixing like all races ships.
I dont like the Domi and the Hyperion is too big and kinda stupid
