Kharylien Gallente Masked Rider Project	Posted - 2010.05.28 03:42:00 - [1] The Gallente are the faction who favour art and elegance and all that stuff. The Gallente also, hands down, have the prettiest shuttle. It's graceful and sleek and elegant. Why, then, are all the other Gallente ships so ugly? Asymmetrical, lumpy chunks of dark grey bleah. I've had bronchitis for a week, and I'm pretty sure I've coughed up prettier ship designs than the Gallente lineup currently offers. Give us pretty ships, CCP. I'm begging you here.

As much as I'd wish to see that (wow, it would be fantastic ) I think it's very unlikely to happen. Never seen any of the already existing ship designs disappear from the game only because aesthetics purposes.(Yes, the Domi has a weird resemblance to something between eggplant and manure chunk) Instead CCP could do a full revamping of the Dominix design, as they have done with the Scorpion (much nicer now, in my opinion)

Then let's go on about the basic game mechanic imbalances such as the fact that hybrids suck, active armor tanking super-sucks (especially on MWD-dependent ships??) to the point where most of the ships sporting that bonus get SHIELD tanked (WTF?!) - don't even get me started on the pointlessness of tracking links or sensor damps which are so awful nobody even bothers to mention them anymore, even though they eat up bonus slots on Gallente Ewar and logistics hulls that could go towards something marginally useful. Honestly it just seems like CCP want to make Gallente so useless they can dump them out of the game. Next expansion we'll wake up and there'll be three factions. Guess managing four was too much effort, eh guys?

The only thing I can get out of the dominix other than a bag of poo with thrusters attached is a running shoe if you sorta look at it sideways... But it's too darn slow to be a running shoe. ... I actually switched to hybrids (as much as they suck) just to fly a mega. So sexy. A few ships need a good run over though. Dominix for one, should look like a mini carrier. Myrm looks stupid too. And I hate the ishkur hull but other than that gallente are golden.

I like Gallente, it seems like the developers told the artist to take some acid or something and just draw a spaceship and they look very unique. Of course some of them are very ugly, but I think all the races have at least a couple ugly ships. Minmatar ships are my favorite, since they look like a piles of scrap put together it reminds me of old pirates that used to put all kinds of patches on their sails because they were all tore up from past conflict. Yeah, the Domi is a good cheap work-horse ship, and it is ugly, but I LOVE the megathron, hyperion, Myrm, and our cap ship hulls. They're incredibly sexy. I haven't flown anything smaller than a bc in a while besides an ishy, but considering what we're up against (caldari and minmatar ships are hideous and amarr ships don't have much style), i'd say we win the overall looks hands-down. If you hate our best mission ship being ugly, take a look at the drake, it's 100x as popular and just at stupid looking once you've started at it for more than 10 mins.

Would be nice if it was less bulbous i quite like the ideas of it being styled as more of a large vexor or myrm, or even a mini carrier. At the moment it does just look like a big booger. Also not keen on the Excuror or Brutix models myself.

Now i am trying to convince them fly other faction ships. On the other hand, i do believe the gall ships do need to be revamped. Better looks for domi/mega ishtar and others. What would be nice as well is to have a closer look at the specific details of the ships. Closer looks at the guns; thrusters or anything visual and see their various details. have a magnifying option included. though i am using high end graphic card, it would be nice to make the ships look closer to RL material designs (if i may put it this way, did not know how else to express it) then giving them the impression that they are made of plastic or taken a big chunk of a certain type of materials and carved the ships out of them, just like children's toys. But, overall, i believe we have very good designs here. We should not look at this as a complaint room but more, giving ideas what we would like to see CCP do for us. The point is not to just sit and criticize as i have seen some do, but, after a criticism, to give your constructive point of view on how would you see the improvements undertaken. once we get enough information and compile them all, Kharylien, could present this to CCP. So, why not invite all gall followers to give their insights on what they would like to see improved and we submit this to CCP before they finalize their own design on our ships? we can always ask or demand CCP to give us smth better. try putting yourselves in their shoes, how could they please unspecific requests of 1000 people who say : give us better designed ships?
