When I warp to other gates, the distance of the gate I left is not changed and the distance of the targetd gate is also XXau away when I achieve there. It makes me taking mistake to warp back. Do anyone has same problem?

Hi,
Yes, I've had this happen a could of times, since the patch.
I've jumped through a Worm Hole when I was 350km away from the hole, according to the overview, even though I warped to zero.

Only thing I have notices is that they set the updating interval of the overview for distances to 3 seconds. The updating interval for selected items in the item info section is still at a fraction of a second. Haven't encountered your issue yet. --------

Yes, I get it all the time. Seems to be okay in PvP, I haven't seen any ships 100km away all of a sudden be on top of me and web me :) - It's not "Play through a pre-set story, become stronger, do endgame". Gameplay is open ended, and you make your own story. Unless you're too afraid of 'pvp grief' to do anything relevant |

Quick work around. Hit tab twice to shrink and reopen the windows.
Hopefully CCP will fix it soon(tm)

That's a pretty crap change, if its not a bug, if they have done that.

Yes, posted about it in the workarounds area..
I don't understand why there are three different calculations being done for distance.
1. Distance calculated for mouseover hover. 2. Distance calculated for the targeted.... target? 3. Distance calculated for the overview.
Why aren't these all being pulled from the same "equasion" and hooked into the part of your interface the same way?
I'm no programmer, but doesn't this seem a little... bloated? ________________________________________________ <--- My in-game me. |

This is awesome, some frigs that go 6km/s on overload can still be on your overview 50km away, but in reality in 3 seconds that your overview updates they are already in overloaded disruptor range. Good going CCP. How is it my fault that you made a game when its easier to spot a black cat in a dark room, than a ship in a blob without overview. --- First pvp expirience in eve is alot like having first sex, you have absolutely no idea what you are doing, but it is exciting and one way or another its over way too fast.

This only happens when you guys are in a fleet, right?
This is a bug and it will be fixed soon. If you guys notice that the overview is not updating properly, click the overview tab and it should start working again. Also, I believe it helps to change the overview filters so your fleet members are filtered out.

I am always in a fleet. I can't say if it only happens in a fleet, but yes, I was fleeted.
Also, fleet members/players with good standings/low sec... etc all filtered out.
Mind forwarding on that list of questions to the right people and possibly giving the community an answer?
Why are there three calculations being made for distance to your ship? Why aren't they all being hooked into the same equation? This could also be another "lag" reducer in fleet encounters and something the devs may want to consider looking at.

Also whilst I was in a fleet the whole time it occurred even when they weren't in system, in addition I don't have fleet members showing on my overview. I did try minimizing / clicking the overview tab with little success, I only found it solved itself when I left system / docked.
To emphasize what I experienced: I had a couple of scenarios when my overview distances would not change at all (both items on grid and off grid), I also experienced the aforementioned delayed update, which is not at all friendly towards my highly range sensitive ship, manual piloting between multiple opponents has become increasingly tricky thanks to this great patch! \o/?

I can certainly see one kind of logic to it:
Flag a ships as "low/med/high priority" ù a flag that takes roughly no effort to check. All range calculations go through the same mechanism, but that mechanism is called up with different intervals depending on the flag. The only extra code is the flag check, and the savings in work load come from not constantly calling it for every last item on the grid, and instead reserving that level of attention for only a select few objects.

Dont change it back, its fun. You can catch vagabonds hovering above gate with dictors now :D They cant see you closing in till you are landing right on top of them :D

No, also happens when not in fleet. Less, as the update interval is quicker, but it still happens.
Also, there is such a thing as situational awareness in PVP, it requires the pilot to see both friendly, allied, hostile and neutral entities in space. Seriously, please do not base any fixes on without taking that into account.

You might have the weighting a little off on reducing the reloads. Last night I was in a roughly 20 man fleet escorting a freighter. We warped (at 0.7AU/s) across a 120AU system, and Iáwas still showing as 70AU away from the gate when we landed from warp, meaning it hadn't updated for about 90 seconds! This is a bit of a problem, as it leaves the jump button in the active object box still greyed out.
Same thing happens when trying to loot a wreck/can in a hurry while in a fleet. If travelling at more than 2-3km/s the open button is never unlocked. I used to be able to loot a can while flying an inty without slowing down. Hold mouse over open button, click as soon as it lit up, ctrl-A to select all in the wreck while moving the mouse down to drag to my cargo button at the bottom. I can't do this anymore.
Any chance you can run the range calculation more frequently for the currently selected object?

Then in that case you have another bug because there is a 3 second delay on the overview when you ARE NOT in fleet which was not present before Tyrannis.

I'm wondering if all this new found smoothness in the game where at least a bit of lag used to be common is due to the ui not updating as much? Pity if the 'fix' for this bug kills that off as it is pretty nice to have near instant undocks and session changes etc etc..

YES - The two times it had happen to me - I have been in a fleet. The targets having the distance issue, however - were not :) =========================

This is best when you are trying to align a bomber to a fleet that is on grid, but warps to a spot say behind you.
