This roll back resulted in the restoration of 72 enemy battleships while the BOB alliance only lost 9.
CCP just handed our enemys over 5.7 billion of extra isk value since they 1.) got there insurance claim from the original ship explosion and now you get your original ship back.

For the complete items and summary recap of what they got back.

Yeah, I think NSA get 24BS's back that they lost to us, plus multiple battlecruisers/ industrials/ mining barges/ cruisers etc.. ______________________________________________
Never argue with idiots. They will just drag it down to their level, and then beat you through experience. |

I hope to goodness that the insurance money is clawed back otherwise this is a farce. Some of us managed to overcome the same trials and tribulations the whiners did and still succeed so quite why they should get all their ships back and the rest of us get nothing I do not know.
Well I'd like any and all ammo and drones used in killing those ships returned to our hangars and double loot or something to make up for the time we've wasted killing all those guys.

Okay, I admit to being completely out of the know here.
Why were these ships given back? Some sort of server lag? Exploits? What's the deal?
I'm surprised CCP has not issued an official statement on this. Or have they? -

Seems alot of lost ship were reimbursed cause of some unknown stuff happening during a period of 12 hours or so ?
In that time there was a battle in bkg in which pa lost lots and lots of ship quite failry and thats what they got back.
Not only did they get heir ships back, insurance payments stand afaik.
That means they gained the number of lost ships * the average insurance payout minus the reinsurance value or something. Which when talking about a ****load of BS is pretty damn ******* much.
Whoever thought that up must be retarded. _______________________________________________

I think im gonna petition all 6 bs I took part in destroying during that time frame and IF my enemy was given double what he lost (Insurance payout + new ship) I will request: A) Any ammo used killing him B) exactly what was given to him for free....an insurance payout.
My enemies have now lost 0 ships and are 600M richer. A rollback on a game like eve should not be done unless a database has a severe failure of somesort. You warned people of the risks of exodus and new interfaces, not to mention that they had the test server to get used to it. ALSO everyone knew there was going to be lag issues. This is bull****, unfair in every sense, I didn't loose a damn thing during that week and niether did alot of my allies. Unbelievable ccp wouldn't even consider doing something like this.

I have to agree, I am not sure how many ships I killed or lost that week, I am having way to much fun to try and count and keep track of things like this, but I can say this really does suck. Even if i get a few ships back (I think I may have lost 1 prophecy during this time frame, which I deserved to lose, I tried to tank an Apoc which I did very well, and then i tried to tank a GankAgeddon which didn't go so well, but this had nothing to do with game error it was my error.

Some people got a ship back that theyr lost after the Exodus release or something. I really hope they DID or will take away the insurance money.
I cant say i enjoy watching people get rewarded for dieing on patch day. Everbody knows theres a risk, some of us managed to get trough it without losing anything and didnt get a free bs ---------------------------

There are three reasons for us doing this.
1. The first days of EXODUS were very buggy (23-28 are the first days) and we wanted to make up for that. 2. It's getting close to Christmas and we wanted to be nice. 3. We wanted to close thousands of petitions to be able answer the petitions that were submitted after the 28th.
So merry christmas and hope you enjoy

Better Solution to the petitions: How about refunding there insurance premium and not the whole damn ship?
Also I dont think ccp could take away the insurance payout because that was what 2 weeks ago? How much has happened in an EVOLVING REAL-TIME universe in that timeframe. I bet alot of people have lost there ships 3x over since then, some probably dont have any money to give back to ccp...so they would get a negative balance (is that possible)? now they have no isk and owe isk...hindering some peoples ability to make money...more petitions? This was the most illogical and rash descision ccp has ever made. They have no integrity whatsoever watch for this game to go down to tubes if this **** keeps up.

The funny part is, this is likely to only add more petitions from people who didn't get back their ships lost during that period... ^^;;;

That'd assume killing the same guys over and over was the point. It's not.

Hey CCP or PA Could you guys maybe re-stock the safespots? My cruiser stocks are down into like single digits now.

"They should at LEAST take the ******* insurance money."
There's probably quite a number of people who spent that insurance money they got on their new ship and modules. So you'd have situation where some people with enough money to take the "******* insurance" from them lose their money, and some who don't have enough because they already spent it don't lose anything... just one more reason for people to whine how unfair CCP is.

Easily solved.. give them the option to purchase their ship for the cost of their insurance payout.. Or.. wait for it.. they can sell their ship for even more !

CCP have ****** over the overall alliance strategic situation. Worse, they did it because they were LAZY. What happens next time something goes wrong?

It's just pruning anyway.
The closed-space alliance issue is a conceptual virus. It infects the weak and forces them into paranoid dilusions.
Blowing up their ship only really forces them down 'under ground' (aka, back to empire) for a bit. The roots are still there waiting to regrow when the lawn-mower leaves, as their mindset hasn't changed any.
So, realistically, while the destruction of ships is important to progress, it isn't until it's tempered with education that any improvement can happen.
Unfortunatly, it would appear that most of the residents of the World of Eve prefer to learn things the "hard" way, and so CCP just held them back a grade.
Welcome to 2nd grade again.

The really ironic thing would be if they now got loads of petitions from people about ammo usage on miraculously replaced ships. I dunno, it was clearly a bad petition load and all that, but I can't help but think sticking by the disclaimer:
"new patch be careful out there, don't drive expensive ships unless you are prepared to lose them"
Would have been much healthier for the game in the long run.
Now every time someone loses a ship in dubious circumstances they can actually go "whhhaaaa whhaaaa (you replaced billions of ships to alliance warriors etc)... (and those weren't even lost to bugs!) whaaaahahahaha!" etc.

Speaking sensibly for a moment, nobody should leave because of this fiasco. Its not going to make the losers of ships in alliance wars any better at fighting so the re-run of the contest is just going to be the same in the long run. Its certainly annoying and smacks of the game designers upping the handicap for the successful players, but hey, whatever, I suppose it means everyone can collect two sets of loot from the "risen from the dead" battleships of those guys.

"So why have they made it MORE of a cluster**** but not taking the ship insurance?"
Because you have no guarantee that the ship insurance can be reliably, automatically pulled from every single player involved, due to some people no longer having the insurance money on them. So if you try to pull it server wide, you wind up with taking it from some but not from all, thus causing even more uproar how some got it better than others not once but twice...

Edited by: Maya Rkell on 09/12/2004 20:47:35 So you're sayuing that with NORMAL ship replacements they should check to see if the player has the ISK?
THEY DON'T.
Why should this be any different?
If you are left with negative ISK, TOUGH. Sell the ships, shrug. THAT is the usual CCP response. THERE SHOULD NEVER, EVER, BE AN EXCEPTION TO THIS.
This is a MAJOR slap in the face to a lot of people. And yes, people WILL be quitting over it. It's not "sensible" to make pvp corps fight enemies who now have the very ships they killed back, inflating their wealth. So they're BETTER off that before.
What you said makes sense if killing was the idea. It's not. It's *destroying* the enemy alliance. And this has basically put us back a LONG way.

Eeh no, they can pull it quite easily actually. It's been done before, players just end up with a negative wallet if they don't ahve the cash anymore.
The simple fact that having a negative wallet is irritating just does not justify giving out free billions to groups of players that lost their ships under quite playable circumstances. After all, one the very same day alot of players fought and kileld those ships and did not die. Where is the justification for giving the ships back plz ? _______________________________________________

Can you actually have negative balance in the game or is it just guess? If it's possible then indeed no problem with it, just didn't think they allow it in game because having such 'feature' is another can of worms begging to be open... o.O

Maybe blowing up FA and CA is for fun, but blowing up FU/NSA/PA is for a reason. They are in our space and funding them with billions of isk sets us back. Meanwhile giving them a second chance. An entire WEEK of my time was lost and I want to be reimbursed.

Ok, so I guess the right way of handling our dissapointment about this would be to spam ccp with petitions right ?
I mean, shouldn't we get our time spent on achieving longterm ingame goals back here since ccp decided to just randomly return every single lost ship with full insurance ?
I mean, here we are, spending our playtime on working towards a goal in the most disciplined organisation this game has to show and what do we get ? we get the shaft.. _______________________________________________

So basicly CCP just shafted everyone who had the smarts to not lose a ship between the 23rd and 28th not by only giving EVERYONE free ships regardless of the reason they lost it, but also by giving them FULLY INSURED SHIPS so they can have double their insurance money aswell.
