It doesn't matter if it's biased.
As long as it's true.

Nice piece Zak, some of the facts are slightly incorrect though.
Originally by: Zak Kingsman
Venal has always seemed to be an area of great conflict, but with the coming of the Phoenix Alliance (PA) the area seemed to finally be stabilized. PA was on good terms with the Coalition of Deklein (CoD) the Fade Union (FU) and NORAD. Together they enacted a non aggression pact, and mutually patrolled the Pure Blind area to keep it free of pirates, thus ensuring that their supply routes, so closely shared, were secure. This organization of alliances was collectively called NAST.
I don't believe NORAD were in the original NAST until after PA were dismissed from it.
Originally by: Zak Kingsman
A new membership grew out of the conflict consisting of the former NAST alliances plus singular corporations who wished to see the downfall of the Phoenix alliance. These corporations were Evolution [Evol], Reikoku [RKK] and Jericho Fraction. The membership was named NCA, a loosely organized group that was basically a non-aggression pact.
Evolution were never part of NCA. NCA was c0d/FU/JF/NORAD/Puking Dogs/RKK/UNICOR.

You forgot BNC and more recently Rough Necks.
Everything else looks cool though.

Ok, edited to reflect dbps info. As I said I came into the conflice a little late so I wasn't completely sure on my facts in that regard. Yes, I have been fighting along side BoB and was in CoD/NCA before that, all in all I tried to keep it to facts, the one area that I'm totally biased in, is of course the northern war itself. I don't know the CFS/FA, and SE/CA conflict like I do the north, and you can tell by the difference in detail level between the sections.

As long as the PA itself doesnt declare itself as dissolved, i do not think that others should. Not even those who are leaving the PA for other goals.
If a corporation leaves on bad terms or has other visions than the PA has, and it makes statements that the PA is done is incorrect. The alliance as a whole still runs, with or without them. An alliance will always evolve and adjust its goals over time, but declaring its over and done is up to the alliance and its representatives itself. __________________________

which is exactly why I didn't claim that they were dead. I said that the remaining corps will be hard pressed, and asked the question as to if they will end soon. I leave that answer up to PA. Please read what is there and don't try to read anything into it. The last thing I wanted that piece to be is propoganda.

Edited by: FreakBoy on 13/12/2004 03:07:47 I would put forward this idea.
War in EVE isnt like war in RL. In you go in, shoot everything that moves, and since they are all dead you can say you won.
This isnt the case in EVE.
Clones mean no one 'dies' and materiel is easily replaced by mining when the other side is logged off.
People only really 'win' it seems when the other side gives up less and less people show up for ops and eventually you only have your hard core players
The losing side could keep fighting indefinetly, but who wants to fight a conflict that is lost every day?
PA will die if and when they decide that they dont want to fight anymore, not before. -----------------

Edited by: Rod Blaine on 13/12/2004 10:25:36 Aaaw please can we get over the crap part and get to the interesting stuff ?
PA is dead, end of story. It has heamorraged members and corporations in the last months ending in a split that toook the best half of it's memberbase last week. What is left now is alot of empire dwellers and a handfull of crap pvp'ers in venal (5 of them maybe). Of course there are the usual noob members in empire with some deranged idea about building up their forces again and claiming back their lands (not going to happen if you can't even boast having more people then us anymore, let alone being able to send up anything remotely scary).
Face it, at this stage it is better to officially dissolve the alliance and start anew with the corps that actually have a place in it then to continue dragging a 99% dead body through a life of torment.
PA is not going to rise again, forget it.
And yes, alliances can be killed. It has just been demonstrated in the GNW. Of course the death of PA is a direct result from that war. Without the war no bears would be a'whining and no corporations leaving. _______________________________________________
