I've scanned through the various threads and I apologize if this has been covered, but I've very curious about something...
Since the PA is a "recognized" alliance by the Jovians and CONCORD, and so many prominent PA corps leaving and declaring the PA a done deal, is CCP going to make some sort of official news announcement on this? Seems to me that the apparent fall of one of the 0.0 alliances would be worthy of attention at the 'official' news level, would it not? Or are the remaining PA corps going to remain in place to keep the name alive even though the heart and soul of the alliance has left?
This isn't intended as a flame toward what's left of the PA; I'm just curious as to if there is going to be official coverage of this event from CCP (who completely ignored the events of the first Venal war, the fall of the NVA, the Curse Civil war and fall of the Curse Coalition, the death of UNICOR, etc...). I ask this because there's this small part of me who is more curious as to how such events are viewed by the 'established' empires and is not really as concerned about the missing cases of Quafe that vanished into another dimension... *cue Twilight Zone music*

Yeah I tend to side with you on this. There needs to be more distribution of 0.0 news. Especially since not all 0.0 pilots read these forums. And now that the empires are forced to acknowledge our existence and their failure to colonise the regions of space in which we have propored these past few years. Many of the alliances have governments that are equally organised as the Empires and our less then savory 0.0 pilots were the ones that pressured the expansion of CONCORD and even were the first to challenge its supremecy in massive battles by tanking sentry guns and even RAIDING YULAI.
Please stop being a third rate flamer,I am tired of reactivating my account just to kick your ass. |

Edited by: Rod Blaine on 11/12/2004 11:03:22 Well, I could see the Caldari state slightly worried over the turmoils north of it's borders.
Seems logically sound to me that the fall of one of the recognised alliances by the hands of an notoriously warlike group of corporations would at least interest concord as well.
At the very least the will be interest in to what is going to happen to the current vacuum up north. There is enough power to keep the area stable, but little people to use the resources. I might see an angle in there for some IC news thinghy as well.
And whomever writes these up knows whom to contact on information, right ?
btw, it wouldn't be right however to announce the fall of an alliance in ingame news as long as the alliance hasn't actually stopped existing. So let's work on that bit more and see what happens. _______________________________________________

Exactly, Rod. I would think that the constant turmoil in Venal would merit some kind of concern. -

"Exactly, Rod. I would think that the constant turmoil in Venal would merit some kind of concern."
Well, like you say it's constant turmoil. That'd require constant concern... constant concern is bad for health. -.^
besides... you know how it'd pan out:
ISD reporter: So... there's some rumours, about the PA demise... any truth to that? o.O PA head honcho: They're greatly exaggerated, obviously. We are still here, and we are not going anywhere--
* string of indies from various PA corps take advantage of HH's distraction and make mad dash in direction of Empire
PA head honcho: ... pay no attention to these, they're just uh... moving my china collection for safety reasons. It's rough times. ¼¼;
* Evol gang swoops in and ganks couple of indies before they manage to make the jump
PA head honcho: Like i've been saying, rough times. But really, the PA is definitely not going anywhere. I mean, we just got official logo from CCP. You don't think alliance with official logo could just fold like that, do you?
...meanwhile on the forums...
random collection of alts: OMG, dirty Evolution scum is using their ISD accounts for their propaganda wars now! OMG, /PETITIONOKEN!!!

The problem is, where would CCP/the events team/etc get their information from? And they'd base it on what? What makes an alliance?
For example, just a few days ago I had a look into Venal. I saw only PA corps there. So, before they come out and admit defeat (not really likely is it), proclaiming them officially dead is difficult.
I guess we can say "dead for all intents and purposes".

Of course it is newsworthy.
However, I haven't seen the PA officially withdraw yet. They might be a shadow of their former selves with most of the corporations they consisted of leaving, but still.
A one-sided declaration that the war is over does not necessarily mean it really IS over.
You will see something appear in the news regardless. Just need to confer a bit with certain people.

Unfortunately, whatever CCP would write about this event would not sit well with some overly sensitive individuals. These individuals would cry and whine about the unfairness of the content of the "news" article, CCP would regret writing it, and never do it again.
CCP, grow some nads, write some some content and ignor what the whiners say. This is your game.

not that i get along with halseth or anything, but agree with him here.
he's been more of a leader to the PA throughout it's life and this war than anyone else, and he has said his peace on the death of the PA(as in, he knows it's dead this time).
f the whiners who are sitting in empire claiming to be PA. it's time for ccp to acknowledge the players who have fought this war with a story on the war's end.
