Another deletion. Thanks CCP. The truth hurts I guess.
Free? 3 Million Euros a month isn't free.
Bring us more ships CCP.
Thanks for this great model, don't let it go to waste, give us a dedicated salvager.

And these 3 million euro's a month are coming out of your pocket amirite?
You could have made your truth hurts post better and more constructive by not swearing like an idiot.
Now go back and tell mom and dad ccp that you will hate them forever because the ship they bought for you was not in the colour you wanted.

This is a great looking ship, thanks CCP.
A pity that it is non reproducible. So it probably won't be used much, for I don't fly what I cannot afford to lose. |

You can. Just type the name in any chat window/notepad/whatever.
Highlight it and then right click->autolink->item type. :)

A Salvage ship is definitely needed and has been asked for multiple times. Since the fluff for this ship says "salvage vessel" then why not release a version that holds to that ideal. 3. I (and many others for sure) wouldn't mind a multi-purpose ship for handling this kind of stuff. 4. It's an ORE ship, make it fit in a Rorqual please.
Yeah, if it is useful for PI make it manufacturable. Or heck make BPCs for it available from the ORE (and hisec related) LP stores.
Give it 8 high slots with absolutely no turrets so we can use it as a 4 tractor, 4 salvager salvage boat. I'd be even happy with 6 high slots. Give it a bonus to tractor range, and salvage tackle chance too.
But yeah, much <3 CCP for cool new ships. :)

For shame... Next you'll want a Jedi class without holocrons and the entertainer grind.
As for the ORE Ship, it looks pretty funky, LP BPC for the hull would be groovy.

Actually I think it's one per account?
Also you probably won't have it that long if you actually try to use it regularly.
A bit to Gallente-looking for my tastes....not enough rust. Otherwise another nice collectors item worth mothballing for a few years until its value rises. Thanks CCP -----

I know Art would like to see them more frequent because a lot of blood, sweat, tears and chocolate cake goes into making a ship.
You should still take them out and about though even if you risk getting blown up, otherwise it is a very unhappy ship never seeing space but just your hangar.
This really makes me mad. You can't honestly expect anyone to actually use this ship, if there isn't a way to replace it? Just make it a bit more difficult to produce a BPO. How hard is it to make these ships manufacturable? How many people use the Christmas gift you sent us? I flew it for about 5 minutes, then stored it in my hangar. This logic just baffles me.
CCP - please wake up and get a clue. I say that with all love, on one hand it's great, but on the other.... I'll have two nice ships sitting in my hangar. Do the research and see how many times these ships are actually used.

I would like to echo this sentiment. These gifts are nice and all, but how about ships that people could actually use, manufacture and destroy on a regular basis. I would gladly trade all my mantleplace ships to get even one new T1 ship added to the game.

Edited by: Hamayan on 25/06/2010 15:42:32 Looks OK, but yeah, I doubt I'll be flying mine but maybe once or twice in a quiet, high-sec system for the novelty of it. It'll sit in my hangar until they're rare enough on the market to fetch decent price as a toy for the rich, or as a collector's piece.
To those who are chastising other posters for greeting this gift with criticism rather than gratitude, I'd have to say that I don't regard anything CCP gives me as a "gift" if receiving the "gift" is contingent upon my having a paid subscription active. I'd call this a "perk", one that I assume was developed and implemented by CCP employees who were on the clock, and paid from money that came from subscriptions, PLEX and ETC.
Such perks can be good, fruitful use of dev resources, but perks are just a subset of game features, and all game features are, IMO, a legitimate subject of criticism, because the development of one feature almost always will come at the expense of the development of a preferable feature, and because existing features can be improved upon. Civil feedback of all varieties is appropriate.
The features I tend to like best are those which add enduring depth, quality and verisimilitude to the game. This sort of one-off perk doesn't do that. It's a flash in the pan. I guess the game needs those too, but this perk still doesn't make a ton of sense to me.
Speaking of sense, from an RP perspective, it seems somewhat odd that ORE would go temporarily go into "full production" mode to produce a ship, give it away and never sell so much as a single instance of said ship for profit. ORE already has enough profile among industrialists that it wouldn't benefit much from this if it's just a marketing stunt, and if the intention is to spur planetary development, they would at least produce and sell BPCs of the ship to friendly capsuleers to help sustain the growth. Maybe it is designed to generate some good PR outside the capsuleer community, but chronicles like Xenocracy seem to establish that such would be a dubious strategy.

Yeah, it's really disappointing to get a new hull that isn't able to be put into production. Perhaps nerf the stats just a bit and make a produce-able ship that shares the same hull or different colors or something. Enough of these on-offs that don't do crap.
I liked the Christmas gift, it really looks cool, but does anyone actually use it? Make it manufacturable, and people will use it. Simple economics really
EDIT: I should add, that the purpose of ships in EVE are to be blown up. If ships don't get blown up, the economy fails. All ships should be expected to be lost, and I would hope CCP thinks of this the next time they introduce a paperweight one-off.

So if they all get blown up, they are gone.
No BPOs or BPCs? Or LP store rewards? This seems like it could be a useful ship.
Especially if it had a mid-slot.
Even more so if it had some salvager bonuses (as a carryover from the ship's previous role) and high slots to use them. This could become a well used ship.

I really hope this is making it up the ladder past Eris because this is a really easy fix that CCP could do if they decided to.
You can't seriously expect the userbase to use a ship they cannot replace. Not in this game. EVE isn't wow, **** dies in this game, so if we can't build it or invent it or buy it or get free with every death then it's a wasted effort by the art department.

Love the ship design, I'll enjoy visiting my planets with it. But please make a BPO as it would be a shame to be unable to fly it because one has to fear suicide ganks just for the killmail. Having another ship collecting dust (while still great in itself) is not nearly as fun as flying and using a new ship.
If it is for the new players getting a free ship to haul stuff to and from their planets, just give one to everyone but still make a blueprint, seeded in the Outer Ring.

The Apothesis was nice. A unique ship to celebrate a significant milestone. Worthy of a one-off ship.
The Zephyr was a little confusing but people shrugged and took the confusing little ship.
With the Primea we've reached the point where the response is pretty much...

If it can't be replaced, it isn't leaving the hangar. The bottom line is just like the zephyr this ship won't see the light of day. That's a shame because unlike the zephyr which is easily replaced by a covert ops frigate a ship suited specifically to PI would be a nice addition.

Yay, a ship which primary function is not to shoot others in the face. I like that. In fact, I am a great supporter for many more types of ships which are not designed for warfare.
That it cannot be build seems like a pity, but I take it as an experiment. At least, if the ship can fulfill a needed role for me, I will not be afraid to fly it where ever I go.

Are there more unique hulls that haven't been released as BPO's? What are you thinking CCP???
I don't care about a retextured shuttle, or a special edition "State Issue Raven", which gets beefed specs and a special paint job. This is ok for non-bpo rare ships. It's not ok to spend weeks developing new ship designs that won't get a BPO. Seems like such a waste.

Amazing looking design. It would be a shame if it is a one of a kind. We have enough ugly replaceable ships in EVE. Hope you guys do the right thing and get a BPO/BPC in. Thanks for the amazing ship anyway, the design reminds me of a John Berkey work :)

Wow. An industrial ship intended to encourage me to take up PI. How impressive.
As for the fan-boys who think we should all be eternally grateful to CCP for them having tossed us another bone, I'm afraid I see this as no more impressive than the "free gifts" I occasinally receive from other companies that I pay to provide a service. Just as we all pay in one way or another for those "gifts", so we're all paying for this one.
CCP employees have spent time working on this ship. While people disagree on what exactly most deserves the most attention, there is definitely a general consensus that there are loads of things in the existing game that could do with further work.
Bottom line: Thanks, but I'm underwhelmed.
