Yep, some new ship will be good, until some ganker decide that its beter to see the kill mail. Thats why i think that taking the BPO to the market will be even better.

Thanks for the ship, CCP, but I must say this:
As an industrialist who also has the skills to properly fit a Typhoon to deliver a maximum assbeating, I'm sick to death of defenseless industrial ships. No worthy tank, no ability to mount a reasonable defense, yet you still can't figure out why lowesec is still left largely to the pirates.
As a minmatar industrialist with rockin' gunnery skills, I'd damn sure be welding some guns on my hulk or tweaking the strip miners to violently remove an aggressor's armor.
I'd really like to know where it says that industrial ships have to be defenseless - like your new PI ship with (purportedly) no high slots?

Well, If this is just going to be a gift ship.
Its got to have its own class. So at christmass maybe you could seed a sub version of this ship hull in blueprint orginial so that we don't have to loose this beautiful ship in some rediculous gank at a planet.
That way it makes this gift unique and all the hours spent on making this ship from the Art department, get to see their ship used over and over again.
I'm gonna use these but I don't wanna loose it and never be able to fly it again. Would suck real bad.

Irreplaceable or not, I'll be using mine for mucking around with PI (dirty pirate who's no good at industry) and keeping the one for my alt account as a trophy/collector's item/etc.
I do have to agree that if you want to see them flown more, they need to somehow be replaceable. A BPO is silly, giving one to everyone would make this ship worth about 1,000 ISK unless it had extravagant manufacturing requirements, and even then it would probably be sold at 0 profit because of the prevelance. The idea of making a BPC from the ORE LP store or something seemed a decent enough idea.

I like the idea of keeping this particular version of the ship as a "free" perk and reusing the art for something else down the line -- perhaps another PI ship with different specs and skill requirements, or a salvaging ship as has been suggested.
I just hate the idea of the art going to waste on something that, for 99% of players, is simply going to be an in-station novelty icon, or a novelty killmail. Also I don't like the introduction of ships which make no sense from an in-game/in-character perspective.

Since it's a one time relase, this could be considered a Tech 0 or protoype??
Once ORE releases it, how long till a Tech 1 or a Tech 2 version?? Even better would be a modular version.
Then we should be getting BPO's.
OR
Will other companies will start Reverse Engineering it for modifications?

Atleast I think most people aren't asking for more free stuff but the other way around, more stuff but let us pay and make it part of the game. :)
Like those asking for BPOs probably aren't thinking that everyone should get a free BPO but that there should be BPOs so we could all buy the ship and thus making it a part of eve instead of just a novelty item. :)

We do complain because we care about eve and would love to make it an even better game.
The model of the Primae is pretty awesome and fits nicely into the line of ORE ship and many of us would like to fly it on occasion.
This is why we complain. We do not want the awesome work that the art department put into this gone to waste.
It's of course nice that you get free stuff, but many of us see the potential in this. If nobody would have complained about eve in the past, the servers would have closed 7 years ago.

They spend a lot of effort to create something that looks really good, that can't be used because people will suicide gank just because they're irreplaceable.
Most of us would rather have ships that are mundanely replaceable so we can use them.

If there that bothered about it why would they even redeam this 'useless free ship' oh thats right its FREE. and stop assuming it wont be replacable. after all can you see any other PI ships out there? its something there promoting for dust. ORE will probly HAVE BPC LP rewards. stop jumping ahead of the game and whining about stuff that you have no way of knowing. have a little trust in the people who are giveing you a FREE gift. or if your THAT offended by this awesome FREE gift give it to me. On the contrary. I've skimmed over the thread and haven't seen this suggestion (so apologies to anyone who previously posted it), but why not make the BPO the gift?
Give everyone the BPO, but don't put it up on the market. Then the ship can be reproduced, and the BPO's will (eventually) become more and more rare.

Had hoped to get some info from the devblog, instead it is just some RP talk.
What can the ship do? How is it doing what it should do? What are the stats? Are there plans for more PI ships? Why is it unique and not buildable/purchasable from npcs?

For one I like the idea of the ship, but the problem is, it will just sit in the safety of my hangar, getting occasionally hauled around when I move. I doubt I will even bother to fit her out for anything. Maybe I will sell her off when I am broke or something.
From all the gift ships, this definately needs to come out with the BPO, was it an LP reward or not.
Although I like the idea of PI, I am not impressed with it. It is a good idea, but it is just too much of a chore to keep my production going, losing my interest in it fast I am sorry to say.
There is stuff that people would much rather see, and this ship will be quite the waste of CCP resources. While I am happy to get a free ship, I would prefer to hear your people are getting back to work on something cool like walking in stations and such. Or you could fix the EVE voice...
