Just as Immi implies I think that in the Adorno quote above he is discussing a contradiction. Similar to the contraction of alchemy, which, for instance, appears to offer one thing but delivers another. I think he is saying that the hope of a challenge to reality, a reality that in the name of efficiency would make slaves of us if we allowed ourselves to become dominated by its logic, is inseparable (even if it's not sufficient), from our deliverance from that reality. Which is like saying that the myth of the Star Fraction inspires a hope that challenges reality and which is the necessary prerequisite for deliverance. Which is neatly encapsulated by the fraction's tag line dare to dream.
however when Arnaud says the Star Fraction is unreal - I think he means that SF is so amazingly cool that it tests belief.

A fair point Miss Morrel and ever so fitting whatever the meaning behind his words. I just want to clarify here that I didn't mean to deny his words. What I said above is because many capsuleers seem to think that the Star Fraction's ideals are never to be reached, and the goals set before the Fraction will never be met.
For all who 'Dare to Dream', as the Star Fraction tag-line goes. For those who believe the ideals will be reached, and the goals are met. For those people that will aid our fight for that cause.
For those capsuleers it is that we are looking for.

What we do? Actually, we will always try to have one or multiple wardecs running in a campaign-shape. And then we hunt, waylay, ambush and whatever other terms in guerilla warfare are applicable here.
In short, we shoot people, larger people then ourselves and we try to be as clever and succesfull as possible in that.
That's the description without the shell of Roleplay reasoning that gives structure to the campaigns. (Lite RP is used to determine who/where/what to campaign, which is not to be confused with the integrated and fully In-Character ways a group like Electus Matari runs things)

What she said, we hunt down the pigdogs in fast skirmish ships - we run black ops insertions into 0.0 - we fleet up in our golden Abaddons and unleash the pure coherent enlightenment of our lasers upon their bared heads - have an escalation protocol that can move from fast attack frigate warps to capital deployment - we roam around swinging our ****s and ECMing the bejesus out of the MAN with drones - and oh so much more we run incursions and explore WH space - we build T3 and run raffles build capitals and take on empire militias and tip the in FW. We are democratic innovative, principled, hated and we have a lot of fun.

Well, freedom is often compared with having wings. Unchained from the earth yet bound by laws of physics. Freedom to do what you wish, yet withing certain borders such as how welthy or how gutsy you are.
Freedom doesn't come natural to many people, as not every creature has wings either. But if you dare to dream, then surely you too can grow a pair of wings on which you soar through the heavens.
Released at last we will reach for the skies in an attempt to turn the tables on our enemies. More and more people will receive their gift, to soar along on wings of freedom.
