Unless people return vast stockpiles of components to market it now costs far more to manufacture a robotics unit that it does to buy one. Wish I had the isk to stockpile crap. Anyone want to loan me? will return 40% of any profits and only hold you responsible for 20% of any losses. :)
10 consumer electrics (sell = ~4k isk) = 40k isk 10 mechanical parts (sell = ~4k isk) = 40k isk fees = 600isk/unit = ~2k isk
82k isk + time = total for 3 units 27k isk / robotics unit.
And since precious metals/reactive metals are still far too expensive to manufacture consumer electrics / mech parts from ... robotics are essentially screwed if any of the demand is actually demand and not speculation (pre-patch = 1m/day)

I was talking about this earlier in Signatures. It's not just robotics, too. :P
I'm not sure whether or not this is attributable to inflation of P1s as people figure out how to optimize their PI networks, or whether we can genuinely anticipate ridiculous P2 and P3 prices in a month or three.

We can definitely expect ridiculous prices. And subsequent ridiculous prices of, for instance, missiles. I expect T2 furies to exceed 500ISK throughout the galaxy in 2 months' time.

Mechanical parts still has room to go up, about 80-100%.
So expect Robotics even higher. |

Well consumer electronics isn't traded at 4k yet. Jita sell orders is there, but most of the volume beeing moved is at the buy orders at 2k. That said I'm keping my consumer electronics for now, and I expanded my robotics stockpile this morning since even counting consumer electronics at 2k/unit robotics is underpriced. |

Following the guidance system jump today, i would hardly be surprised if robotics were to jump close to 30k this coming week. Robotics were not stockpiled nearly as much as GS and the amount of pos' currently eating their way thru them will have a significant hit on what stockpiles there are.
Mechanical parts would have been stocked a little better but i wouldn;t be surprised to see them hit 9k p/u very soon.

pos consumption is pretty solid, but the main utilization of robotics is T2 production. The T2 producers I know use anywhere between 50k and 200k robotics a month each.

Consumer Electronics is way, way underpriced due to massive stockpiles. It's undervalued compared to its ingredients.
As for 'where it's traded at', the daily average yesterday was over 3k/u so those sell orders up right now are seeing action. Daily average so far today is 3.2k/u. It is rising fast and that trend will continue because nobody with half a brain is producing it to sell at market as a P2.
This will eventually impact robotics prices.

I make T2 drones, I use between 400-600 robotics/day.
My initial plan was to use PI in empire to supply what I need for my drone production, I started with Robotics and after getting 10 characters on PI I still can't make them fast enough so I put down this spreadsheet to figure out why:
To produce 500 robotics a day I need:
- 7 advanced processors feed by 4 advanced processors each, this means 35 pins or 2 planets.
- With access to 0.0 or wh planets I need 2 chars on 23 hr extraction cycles to feed the factories.
- If I wanna do this in a 96 hr cycle and save myself from carpal tunnel, I would need 4 chars, 2 eve accounts
- If I try this in empire, I need 340 extractors on 23 hr cycles, that's 6 characters and carpal tunnel (2 double clicks per extractor per day)
- Finally you can pull this off on 96 hr cycles in empire with 6 eve accounts
Robotics are going to spike unless CCP fixes the production capacity problem.

Exactly. Unless part of the new character tutorial is to fire up a few planets worth of robotics production.

Yeah, Robotics has problems but if drones get too pricey people will not buy the T2 versions. Maybe that's CCP's goal, make the loss "hurt" more then they where before. I've even melted down some T2 drones because of Robotics being priced enough to make that profitable so its going to be a fine line between what customers are willing to pay and what manufactures are willing to sell for.
That's a hell of a consumption you've got there too.. Just how many productions lines are you running?

I'm trying to gauge how just full of BS you are in your various economic posts, but it's just off the charts. There are no, repeat, no, T2 drones which result in any amount of robotics when reprocessed. Or any other PI product.
Investors: beware of anything sencnes says, he's just making it up as he goes along. Consumer Electronics and Robotics are fine, safe buys right now.

Crashes are relative even if it crashes at around 20k isk *assuming it reaches 30-40k it will still be a tidy profit.

HAH I waited for that one too.
To verify this I can confirm that no matter how much T2 stuff you melt down you will not get any PI stuff apart from T2 ships and Construction Blocks. Nothing else melts down, I wonder if CCP will fix that..
Since you so blindly looked over everything else I posted you'll actually see I supported the guy saying Robotics has supply issues. This will undoubtedly be a pressure point for PI. How high Robotics will go is a little tricky, they are most certainly going to be higher then Guidance Systems, but it's hard to judge just how much.
By the way, the melting for T2 drones I've done as I mistakenly melted about 20mil worth of T2 drones along with other stuff. So the statement is still true. I have melted T2 drones thinking they would be more then what I got. Thought technically it was still profitable because of the sheer amount I melted at the time, It wasn't as much as I expected because I included the Robotics... Too bad I couldn't suck anyone else into doing it. That would have just made me feel better.

Wrong again, sencnes, you can also get Rocket Fuel from reprocessing T2 missiles. I actually have a program which does the math on all these things to discover when it's profitable (on thousands of jita items tracked). Nice try on the damage control from your robotics gaffe, but I think we can safely say I was providing new information to you there.

I think a lot of people will sell out once it gets to 50K. Because for the same reason at 50K it's a 1B ISK a month industry for PI players. This is the ONLY Item I've held and even produced from massive supply of Mechanical Parts and Consumer Electronics.
The key is defiantly cash out before everyone else.

What are your assumptions when you throw around a quote of 50k = 1 bil isk a month? Because near as I can figure, 50k = ~250 mil/month in highsec and 500/month in 0.0. Not completely terrible, but still much worse than invention which (right now) requires a lot less clicking/hauling/annoyance.

Pre-nerfed. Not such a bad thing, as it leaves room for future PI expansions to introduce efficiency-increasing mechanics. Amarr Victor. |

Personally i am holding out for a figure around 40-60k, not because this is as high as i think it will go. But because this is the number that will give me a significant return on my limited investment, i can then put that isk into things that will give me a rate of return much higher

Why not just get into PI and drop a whole lot of risk? Entry barriers are so low I would figure this is by far the best way to invest.

PI is already more than 1B a month passive income, even in highsec. No robotics spike necessary. |

Mechanical Parts are heading for 5k/u now.
So looks like we're definitely going above the 30k mark for Robotics.
As of right now, Robotics is between 28k-29.5k
