That's where I stopped reading. No way a GM would tell anyone to post on C&P.
Fail troll is fail.
I usually don't defend trolls, but it IS theoretically possible the GM told him to seek help on the forums, in general terms. C&P is what he thought his post belongs to.
OP: Post it in S&I maybe some hulk-making industrialist will give you a hulk to mine in :) (amazing profits and ****) And to conclude my rant... isn't it annoying when you're reading someone's signature and don't even realize it?
Now get the server running or the Damsel('in distress') gets it (up her a**)! |

Let me look at that from a few perspectives:
Hulkageddon is the cause of thousands of gank ship's and modules going *poof* >> revenue for the industrialists
Hulkageddon is the cause of thousands of industrial ships and modules going *poof* >> revenue for the industrialists
Hulkageddon is one of the few events that attracts just about half if not more of the playerbase into one single event >> unites people in having some fun
Hulkageddon is causing shortage on a LOT of stuff >> even more revenue for the industrialists
Hulkageddon causes a ****ton of crap to be replaced fast >> more revenue for CCP, more reinvested into the game
The list is endless to be honest ...

Did I say anywhere that I participate in the ganking itself ? Just to clarify, I dont. But saying it is bad for business is just plain wrong, unless you are a moron, live in your own bubble, and should be playing X3 instead. ========================== Nothing is true, everything is permitted. ========================== |

Son ?? Name your year of birth and make me laugh more
Your arguments (actualy, your lack thereof) are very convincing ...
Your assumptions are just plain dumb. I didn't say I support it, I just mentioned it is good for business. ========================== Nothing is true, everything is permitted. ========================== |

Pretty much, yeah :P
However, even though I'm a miner, I can't sympathize with the OP. Hulks are targets of opportunity (I think CCP even said so once), they have no way to defend themselves and will always be a target for people looking to pad their killboard stats, or just for lulz.
That being said there are a couple things you can do to not mine like an idiot:
1. Don't cargo-tank your Hulk. Those cargo expanders cut down on your armour HP. Put shield extenders or something like that on instead. Get a friend or an alt to haul. Or jetcan and come back for it later. 2. Don't AFK mine. If you're not even going to play the game, why are you playing the game? 3. If you have to go AFK for even a second, make damn sure the system is EMPTY (Pirates know...they have a sixth sense for afk nooblets). |

1. Go to the Market Discussions forum and read up on how people station traded their way from 5,000 isk to millions in a month.
-or-
2. Join a mining corp that will loan you a retriever/hulk, *after* Hulkageddon in case that's not obvious, and make your bones that way. ----- this signature line intentionally left blank. |

Well, first of all, every competent miner will know that they can wait out Hulkageddon then make good profits afterwards since the minerals and ship prices will go up after hulkageddon. This is also a reason why a lot of miners and industrialist actually support hulkageddon. If you dont believe me, go read the Industry section of the forum. Plus, its not ***** impossible to mine during hulkageddon, mining battleships hello anybody?
Secondly, if you are looking for sympathy, then C&P is not the place. No, not really.
Thirdly, Hulkageddon always earn more EvE subscription than it loses for CCP, so dont come and make a carebear threat about not playing EvE anymore. Seriously, noone here cares if a carebears decides to ragequit EvE. And, can I haz your 1.2million?
Number four: Did you still not realise that EvE is a video game where everyone else will try their best to blow up your ship and you ought to try your best not to let that happen?
Last of all, Helicity Boson, your forum carebear troll alt still needs work.

Edited by: Skex Relbore on 12/07/2010 13:45:06 Edited by: Skex Relbore on 12/07/2010 13:44:41 My one and only objection to the suicide mechanic is that kill rights should go to the corporation of the victim rather than simply the victim himself.
The current system is flawed since thanks to the real time training system it isn't feasible to train a character with both Industrial and PVP skills at the same time. So you end up getting kill rights on a character that doesn't have the proper skills to exercise them.
If kill rights were granted to the victims corporation then that corporations combat characters could attempt to act on them and exact some measure of vengeance against the perpetrator. It would also allow proactive defense against repeat offenders since you could patrol the area you are mining and take the initiative against the gankers.
As it stands today it's pretty much just PVP for losers. I mean seriously where is the challenge in hulkageddon beyond finding targets who aren't aware enough to take precautions.

This statement makes it obvious that you have never left highsec or fired a single turret at anything that wasn't an asteroid.
Finding targets that aren't aware or prepared enough to fight back IS 90% of PvP in Eve, regardless of where you encounter it. ----- My Blog |

Ninja salvage in low sec and run Radar exploration sites.
Train Salvage to level 3 and start roaming around low sec in a cheap frig or destroyer with a rack full of salvagers. You can often make 20 million ISK off the salvage from a single T2 wreck in many cases.
Most fights take place on gates so it's typically easy to find wrecks by just roaming around low sec. As you warp through a system just scan and see if you see any Elite Frig/Cruiser/BS wrecks.
Just find the active areas and start roaming around gate to gate. If you are in a frig most gate camps will have a hard time catching you. If you lose a T1 frigs with salvers on it from time to time.. who cares it's less than 300k ISK..
I made over 300 mil in salvage/loot one day by getting lucky and finding a high sec POS battle. Granted if you loot the wrecks they can shoot you for 15 mins.
With Radar sites just train up Hacking/ Probing skills and it typically takes minimal combat skills to run them. However you will need some basic probing skills the (higher the easier your job gets). I've made over a 100 mil from a single site before by getting 5 intact armor plates and some other stuff.
Most times it's not that much and Radar sites tend to be few and far between but they are out there.
In short mining is a waste of time.. I used to run a Orca + 2 Hulks and made less ISK in high sec than a single LVL4 mission runner. Look at your Hulk loss as a favor because that what they did for you.
You shouldn't have to do grunt grinds most of the month just to pay for a plex.
