LAG... CCP's fault? Dearest Grasshoppers, Lag is not something CCP is responsible for. Are they responsible for your location? How about your internet connection and ISP's throttling of your bandwidth? Or maybe you think CCP can control your neighbor who is tapped into your unprotected WiFi as they download from Lime [trojan, worm, malware] Wire? hmmmm, maybe CCP can stop your neighbors, for those of you with cable, from downloading movies or watching Huluu which if you didn't know slows you down? Ever play EVE on a T1 line? ho ho ho. no lag there. No my dear Grasshoppers, Lag is not CCP.. your Lag is you. But, please feel free to complain, moan, whine and stomp your feet or scream at your monitor [we know many of you do] [and what an odd thing to do] your lag is yours, wear it well. |

Does this mean something like my skill queue not taking 5 mins to load anymore?
That's your own computer then, mine loads in a matter of seconds. Under 30 that is.

I hope you do realize there is serverside lag, alot of it when it comes to bigger fleet battles. And you just got trolled, terribly.

Bubblles...take care, if a game mechanisms generate lag it's called an Exploit !
Men enjoy, soon being in a ship in space will be an Exploit !
You should start to learn FPS on console games and only looks planet...well no just stay on console or it will lag.

If it related to my toon, what types of things have been optimized to run faster? Wednesday is SOOOOOOOOO far away and I'm one of those people that hate waiting for Christmas presents. Satisfy my curiosity NOW! :)
There will be a DevBlog about that topic to enlighten you all what we have been up to this summer. CCP Atlas was a busy man making your EVE experience smoother. In short: character services are services that don't need to be handled by the sol/location-nodes. So i.e when you browse the certificates the client will get this info from a character node without adding load to the node running the solar system. There are various other kinds of nodes that fir this patterns (market, PI, corp services ...). More details will come with the dev blog.

It's not realistic to expect this can be done in less than 12 hours, and estimating 2.5 hours is indicative of incompetence at best, and outright lying at worst.
2.7 has probably been running on SiSi for a few weeks, so the only real concerns would be related to subtle bugs caused by load and usage patterns of TQ. These aren't generally 48 hour downtime kind of issues though, and if TQ won't start up or something they can simply revert until they figure out what to do.
That's why you see the update to Python in a deployment that includes few real changes.
That sort of is on the spot. The changes have been lingering on Sisi for a while now. If the server doesn't start-up we can simply use the old version and have it up again on this.

Sounds like you set-up specialized business node rather than all in one nodes, is it ?

Mail finally fixed...that only took what...a month, nearly two?! Now if the claims to Eve crashing less on Macs after this patch is true, I might just keep my sub going. =)
This patch is a good thing.

Quote: Python 3.0, a major, backwards-incompatible release, was released on 3 December 2008 after a long period of testing. Many of its major features have been backported to the backwards-compatible Python 2.7
do I see relationship between this patch and maybe future newly rewritten stuff that maybe uses really old code like POS-es in the near future for Incarna ??
Would be kewl too have player owned stations given an place in Incarna

What about the R.A.M. manufacturing bug, is that going to be fixed? Seems like a pretty easy bug to spot, considering it's repeatable, affects everyone and every job that uses RAM.
