Originally by: CCP Nimbus For those encountering crashes after patching the client, please try running the repair.exe tool located in your Eve install folder.
No such luck with Mac users, eh?
On my Macbook Pro, Eve is as buggy as ever, but after the patch it cannot recover from crashes but requires a reboot. I can't remember when was the last time I had to reboot my computer. Now I do it several times a day.

Originally by: billybutcher updated today from 1.0.3 to 1.0.4 and now cant play!
when opening client im told by client "unable to connect to 87.237.38.200 on port 26000"
i have tried reinstalling eve but yet still no joy, windows firewall is turned off completely and my internet connection is stable and connected. server status is active according to your own server status page. running on windows vista
Im gettin this as well. Windows 7, 32 bit. Currently has the "unable to connect to 87.237.38.200 on port 26000". I have turned off firewall, turned on firewall with an exception, I have accessed my router and added an exception for 26000. No go on anything. Restarted several times, and I was leaning towards reinstalling, but if it doesnt work for him im not going to bother.
I loaded up ping plotter, 110 ping. The only thing I can find is that it appears the second hop shows 100% packet loss. I dont know what this means. There isnt a dns attached to the loss.
My router is set up... my firewall is fine... so why is it refusing to connect?

I think the problem might be in my Thomson TG784 router but im not sure.

For those encountering a crash with the Tyrannis 1.0.4 client before the login screen appears:
We've narrowed down the likely cause of a crash to a program called Netlimiter. It appears that only the earliest version of this software is affected (1.xx). If you have this version installed, please uninstall it and restart your computer. The client should startup successfully afterward.
More recent versions of Netlimiter do not appear to be affected (Netlimiter 2 or Netlimiter 3 Beta).
If you are still encountering crashes and do not have Netlimiter installed, please file a bug report with a crashdump so we can investigate the crash further.

Edited by: Fenris Rake on 18/08/2010 21:43:00 according to http://eve-offline.net/?server=tranquility theres 37k ppl on right now. so apparently only a few of us got boned by this recent patch.
Update to my little problem, I made my computer DMZ through my router, did absolutely nothing. Also updated SISI to latest client to check if I still couldnt login, and yep still count. "unable to connect to ip(SISI IP) on port 26000"
Any ideas on what to check? Just give me something to work on.

Uninstalling Netlimiter allows me to get to login screen now, so seems like a resolved issue. Thanks! What an odd thing to cause a crash. I would never have considered it. Thanks for the rapid investigation and solution!

Could you update your bug report and attach a new logserver and crashdump file now that Netlimiter is uninstalled? I'd like to find out if the cause of the crash has changed.

I've never had netlimiter installed ... did a search for it on local drives and found nothing.
I crash on the splash screen ... (and will fill out a crash report)
netlimiter is clearly not my problem
running dual nvidia 7600 w/ sli and 3 monitors... maybe thats the cause?

Holy jesus, they use python for connecting clients to servers? No wonder there is a TON of lag...
There are a million better frameworks for connecting via C / C++.
Off topic... You can use optimized C code in python...

xp 64bit here
trying to install the latest patch, from version 167296 ->174282
hangs on install :/
cant play to till tomorrow now arg
so...a bit of help please
1. Someone maybe want to EXPLAIN how to make a crash dump? I really like enjoy about this without a link or something :)
(wtf is netlimiter no i don't have that installed...so there is either more than one cause of this issue or the patch itself is causing problems that's my guess)
2. I looked up the info on this repair tool for anyone interested as CCP really doesnt have great support S.O.P.s here: http://support.eveonline.com/Pages/KB/Article.aspx?id=750
To clarify, CCP isn't great at support because they are geeks that know how to make a good game...doesn't mean they can relate to people...:)
I've never had a prob with eve in the last year Ive been playing
P.S. hey this isn't related to the latest .NET microsoft crap is it? I updated that just before eve cause windows auto updates said to install it...

I have new information on my problem of "unable to connect to 87.237.38.200 on port 1600" with the new patch. Apparently it is LINKED to the fact I am Running Windows 7.
I have updated and connected successfully with my second computer running Windows XP. It is no longer an issue with my router or ISP. It is just this computer running windows 7 and possibly something to do with the firewall (even though its off).
Any ideas CCP? I no longer know what to try, now that I know its win 7 thats doing it.

Server status UNKNOWN.
Unable to connect to server says I don't have internet on this computer.
I beg to differ.
Tried removing my router and plugging into the modem directly no effect, turned off windows fire wall nothing. Does not work on any of my 3 computers. XP Vista 64 and windows 7
I'm not the only one either.

I enjoyed how the auto patch kept getting me a corrupted patch file then wouldn't patch because it was corrupt but wouldn't delete it or download it again but instead tried to repair it and failed over and over.
Also was fun how out of 12 downloads of the client 11 were corrupted and of course the repair tool couldn't repair anything, ever I wonder if it being a 2.5 python version had anything to do with it? I guess I'll never know as I'm not ever using it again and won't ever use your auto patch again, that is what I get for trusting it.

patched today, cannot connect. i run game client, splash screen comes up, sits there a little longer than usual (I'm assuming because its trying to connect and cannot) the splash screen drops and as I am watching task manager processes the exeFile.exe never runs over 15k, the next stage of the process never starts, so officially the game client is not booting to the character login screen. i can leave the client running in the task manager processes and it will not crash, no blue screen, nothing. just sits there at 15k forever unless i end the process. so that means no dumps because it never crashes and never connects.
i'm sick of having to spend HOURS OF MY TIME trying to figure out what the problem is when YOU BREAK IT! all we did is install your patch! we changed nothing! this should be a HINT! lol get it together CCP there is a corrupt file somewhere with the wrong info in it regarding server/login server IP/Port. just a guess....
*repair tool doesnt fix the issue* I do not have NetLimiter installed*
UPDATE: FIXED if you are having my problem what i did was delete the EVE shortcut on your desktop, go to your eve install folder, then open your BIN folder, right click the ExeFile.exe launcher and create shortcut to your desktop and run. this fixed for me.
