Edited by: John JacobSr on 19/08/2010 16:37:11 Well i've gotten a bit further. I was having the hang at splash screen before getting to the log in screen issue. I disabled my network card on my computer and now I can get to the log in screen... Of course there is no internet connection and even when I re-enable my nic it does no good.... "checking Status"
Edit: Updating NIC drivers did not change the results.

OK CCP. I've been paying ya'll for over 4 years. I've dealt w/your incompetence before. This could well be the last time if I don't see some response on the forums to let us know you are just about to have your patch, that doesn't run smoother or help w/my loading, fixed.
You need to figure out how you are going to compensate us and post here in forums.
This might be the last month you get money from me

I'm having trouble with EVE client connecting via my http tunnel/proxifier. I normally run EVE on a laptop, and use HTTP-Tunnel and SocksCap v2 when behind corp firewall. The setup has been working near flawlessly for many months, but since the 1.0.4 patch, the EVE client cannot even hit HTTP-Tunnel. The tunnel still works fine for other apps and for web.
EVE client connects normally on the laptop from my home location. However, since the patch, it is NOT able to connect when run on my home desktop machine (which also has a history of fine EVE performance).
I'm not using Netlimiter, and the client does not crash. It simply reports Server: Tranquility, Status: 'Unknown'.
Also, I AM able to open a telnet session via the HTTP-Tunnel connection to the EVE game server IP (of course it returns garbage, but the connection definitely shows up on the tunnel.
Let me know if i can provide any further detail that might help. I collected LogServer data through one complete client startup sequence. Where can I submit that?
Thank you very much. Nolanaste

I have the exact same issue. On what looks like a bigger version of the same iMac.
Also, when I hit quit game on the Escape menu, I get some C runtime error as it shuts down. I can then no longer start a game of EVE until I restart my computer. It's beyond annoying.

I would also look at this being an ATI issue..since I've seen a few of ati users..which I am one...really having problems..... just a splash screen..then nothing...just a crash....

With the "Unable to connect to 87.237.38.200 on port 26000" problem, I have no proxy software installed, no xfire, no netlimiter, and no problem pinging the server. Only my windows 7 computer is effected (my xp laptop, which can login and fix skills but not much else, has no problems.) Not sure what next to try.
But why would xfire be doing anything to eve? I used to use xfire alot, and alot of players use it. I dont want to have to sacrifice good programs just to play eve...

Since the lat patch I also have been unable to play using Alienware laptop. Tried all the usual stuff - patching/re downloading/re-installing, get the same error - abnormal termination.
Then I downloaded all the latest drivers for Alienware and logged into Eve for the first time since the patch.
Hope this helps. |

Installation files corrupt.
Downloaded data package corrupt.
Repair does not help.
I have wiped Eve clean off my PC and started fresh. Now it won't even let me install it because it says the file is corrupt. I've tried everything I can possibly think of and I'm aggravated beyond belief.
No, I'm not using Alienware.
The following are pics of the errors I've received:

Well, I am hoping someone can help me here.
I am using a 2008 macbook pro, before the patch on 08/18/10, EVE was working fine, since the patch, I can start eve and it runs fine, when I log out of eve, without turning off my computer, if I try and start EVE again, it tells me that it cannot open.
To get EVE to work, I have to restart my computer and then start EVE and it will run fine, log off and try to restart, tells me it cannot open.
I removed EVE from my computer and downloaded the client again but still the same problem.
Can someone help me please...

Might I ask what drivers you are talking about and where you located them?

Confirming this. I did this exact same thing today and it's really starting to get annoying. Sometimes it doesn't even show an error, i click the icon and nothing happens. Oddly enough, I check the activity monitor and eve online is there, but it's not using any CPU or anything.

Has received the answer on email. It hasn't helped me, can will help someone to another
Hi,
See if clearing your cache and settings folders helps, corrupt cache and settings files can cause ingame items and information being shown incorrectly or not at all. It can also cause players, ships and items to function improperly.
For this, you need to locate the following folder, assuming that you have installed EVE in the default location C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE : ( is C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE on 64bit versions of Windows )
Press Windows Key + R and paste the following line into the Run window.
Windows XP: %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE Windows Vista/Windows 7: %LOCALAPPDATA%\CCP\EVE\
There you will find a folder that is named 'c_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility' (asuming you've installed EVE in the default location), rename/move all of the folders (for example rename it to 'c_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility.backup'), in order to save them. Then relog and try again.
Do note that copying the settings folder or any of it's files back may cause your problems to resurface, this includes the prefs.ini file.
Best regards, Senior GM Xamother EVE Online Customer Support

Starfire or Talos, if you've figured it out, which driver could be causing the problem? Kind of eager to fix it as soon as possible, especially if I can.
