Hi,
See if clearing your cache and settings folders helps, corrupt cache and settings files can cause ingame items and information being shown incorrectly or not at all. It can also cause players, ships and items to function improperly.
For this, you need to locate the following folder, assuming that you have installed EVE in the default location C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE : ( is C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE on 64bit versions of Windows )
Press Windows Key + R and paste the following line into the Run window.
Windows XP: %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE Windows Vista/Windows 7: %LOCALAPPDATA%\CCP\EVE\
There you will find a folder that is named 'c_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility' (asuming you've installed EVE in the default location), rename/move all of the folders (for example rename it to 'c_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility.backup'), in order to save them. Then relog and try again.
Do note that copying the settings folder or any of it's files back may cause your problems to resurface, this includes the prefs.ini file.
Best regards, Senior GM Xamother EVE Online Customer Support
dont help :< i dont have folder "c_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility" only f_eve_tranquility f_ccp_eve_tranquility f_ccp_tranquility and i try remove, rename, and nothing, still crush

Day the third. Till now doesn't work EVE. The emptiness strange feeling fills my consciousness more and more. Tried to walk along the street, hasn't helped. Has played days in another MMORPG, but effect not that. Emptiness and silence. In the street the dog barks, floods. Probably she a bot.

NO WARRANTIES ... CCP does not warrant that the operation of the System or your access to the System, or that your use of the Software, will be uninterrupted or error-free, nor that the System or Software will be compatible with your hardware and software....

It is for this reason, the CCP in no hurry to solve the problem

I don't think CCP isn't in a hurry to solve the problem, I think there's a lot of problems, and I think most of the people trying to fix the problems would rather try to fix the problems than send out a large amount of emails saying we haven't fixed it yet. I mean don't get me wrong I'm bored out of my mind and pretty upset but moping and yelling and screaming doesn't seem to productive. Everyone who is locked out should do something fun together, like, well I don't know, but someone should think of something, and we should do it, like an art contest, or we should build real space ships and fight with them.

Hi All, day 3.
Just to inform you, my game still does not work.
Here is what it does do: I activate the game to start, the Tyrannis Splash-Screen shows, then the game crashes. The a windows error massage pops-up.
Here is what I tried so far: 1.Set game back to previous state and patched it again and again. *** NO EFFECT ***
2.I downloaded the full new version, I reinstalled the entire game. *** NO EFFECT ***
3.I removed all character game data. *** NO EFFECT ***
4.I installed Netlimiter latest version, not that I ever used it before. *** NO EFFECT ***
What does work: When I start the version of the game from before the patch the game starts normally, but the version is incompatible so no good for playing.
What I can do now is wait for CCP to fix the issue or reinstall my entire system. But I donĘt want reinstall everything.
Has anyone that had the same issue any tips for me / us. |

Hope this helps.
Might I ask what drivers you are talking about and where you located them?
I found the drivers here http://support.alienware.com/Support_Pages/Support_Area.aspx
Click the link dependant upon which date you bought the system, and from there you can select your model or service tag and get a list of all drivers that need updating.

I found the latest drivers here,

I had 17 drivers/apps to update but I didn't choose them all. I left out the bios updates and some disck updates which left 13 or so to download. I figure it must be something to do with network access although I really don't know.
After the updates and restart I managed to log back in

Hey Guys,
Reading this thread I have an idea of something you guys should try:
1. Get the latest drivers for all hardware.
2. Create a new Windows User and log into it, once you are in get to a Run box and type "msconfig". Under the Startup tab disable all items and under the Services tab check the "Hide All Microsoft Services" and disable the rest of the items. Restart the computer after doing this.
3. Try to log into EVE using this new user account.

It canĘt be a driver issue if you ask me. The main problem is the old version of EVE still works perfectly. CCP just messed up / or changed something in the new version, thatĘs why itĘs not working.
We all waiting for CCP to tell us what they changed, so we all know where to look and fix it.

The 'Decryptor not found' bug is back again. Invention grinds to a standstill!
The decryptor is there and has been there for about 8 hours - logged a couple of times, still isn't showing.

i reinstalled new drivers, i disabled all the things in msconfig in startup exept some things i needed for network/lan
and it did not work, tried it in every possible combination
its not my drivers, or a other program that is interfearing i think.
It does work on my other old laptop but i cant realy play on that because it gives blue screen every 4 min because thelaptop is broken

I have returned. And at me two news.
- Good consists in that that I can start now EVE on the computer.
- Bad news, I don't know that caused.
I wanted to reinstall for a long time system. But a considerable quantity of useful programs didn't allow to me to make it. And here I have dared, and have made it.
Search in the register. On 90% it is assured that this what consequence of work or programs (even for a long time removed). I already had cases, difficulties because of the conflict of work of the new and old (remote) anti-virus software.
Good luck friends!

I only recenly started running my laptop which has vista (it was free so cant complain about that) and was using my proxy for my home network for which I use analogX which uses a default port of 6588 for http traffic, where my main desktop pc is connected to the internet at 192.168.1.100 and laptop is at 192.168.107
Like many others the error after the patch all stopped working, as I used that downtime to run a virus check and other program clean up I thought I had changed something, but read these posts.\
Using the log server that is provided in the Eve directory I let that run, clicked off the colored i and ! icons and left the red ! and these warnings show when I try to click connect in eve.
(10057, 'Socket is not connected', 'ConnectEx failed with error 0: The operation completed successfully.\r\n')
Could not connect to server. Error: [PatchVersionCheckFailed.error] Version Check Failed - A network-related communication error occurred while trying to check for a patch.<br><br> Further Information: [Errno url error] invalid proxy for http: '192.168.1.100:6588' {'error': "[Errno url error] invalid proxy for http: '192.168.1.100:6588'"}
(10057, 'Socket is not connected', 'ConnectEx failed with error 0: The operation completed successfully.\r\n')
So from what I understand a proxy runs on a higher layer of tcp/ip and I can only guess that the programmers did something that makes the patched eve not see this as I can run eve on this vista laptop if I plug it in directly to my internet.
Do others get the same log errors?

CCP,
Do you forget to restart some of the Eve Gate servers that it's slower than a 56K connection ?
Not seen any patch on the EveGate in 1.0.4 btw.
I have asset to give to my corporation mates prior to leave do you think I will be able to do it prior end of September ?
Even in 2D it's good for me or do I need to send a petition to have my stuff transferred automatically ?

Lucky me, I would guess that my program cyberpatrol could also be interfering with Eve; however, uninstalling it is not an option.

Edited by: Fenris Rake on 20/08/2010 18:21:01 Apparently some people forgot that for any update, you always put a 10-20 day skill up on queue.
In related news.... anyone manage to figure out how to get rid of the "unable to connect to (IP) on port 26000" problem?
So far ccp has suggested I try pinging the server (110) and uninstalling any proxy software (of which I still have none.) Of course, I'm runnin Win7, while my crappy laptop running XP has no problems.
Any ideas from you guys? Router's port has already been opened, firewall is off. Im out of ideas.
Edit: yea I'm about to the point of reinstalling win7 which is stupid. Updating eve shouldnt make you uninstall half your programs and reinstall windows to get it to run.

Cheers GaladDamored,
I have done this and I can now access EVE, before the EVE client didn't get past the Splash screen. It now seems to be fine. I'm still waiting in CCP to come up with a solution to this problem as it's far from acceptable having to disable everything on my computer just to run it.
Not amused especially as I have lost out on 48hrs+ of skill training time on my 2 accounts.
I think I might petition but I have the feeling that I might be p*s*i*g in the wind.

Glad that this worked, another thing I can think of for the other people is that try to uninstall any program that monitors or controls your internet access, such as Anti-Virus, Firewalls, DNS Services or programs that monitor content and also try disabling Windows Firewall
Please note to include any Microsoft software that does this as well in this purge.
