Have just installed the patch and now eve crashes during startup! It crashes whilst the banner is still displayed, before the install page is executed. How should I proceed? Am I now to download the two gigabyte full install again? How will you provide an updated update to correct this if the vehicle to implement is also affected?
Pleased advise?

Please run repair.exe, apparently your client is not patched completely. There should be no python25.dll in the new client, it was replaced with python27.dll.
For all others, where the client does not work: Please also run repair.exe, if you have not tried it yet. If it is still broken please write a bugreport and attach a log from logserver.exe (http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Log_Server) and if possible a crash dump (http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Reporting_Crashes).

Edited by: CCP Tenitigo on 18/08/2010 14:23:34 For those encountering crashes after patching the client, please try running the repair.exe tool located in your Eve install folder.
If the crash still occurs after running the repair tool, please file a bug report and include the following information: - A crashdump generated by the client at the time of the crash - A logserver file logging the clients actions leading up to the crash - The repairlog.txt file which is generated after running the repair tool. It will be located in the same folder as repair.exe - Dxdiag file
Please include notes on when the crash occurs (before seeing the login screen, after logging in but before character select, in space, in station, etc).

That is a disgraceful preposition Atropos. The update provided is an automated feature and outside the scope of player involvement. It is your responsibiblity entirely, to ensure the update "manages" the hierarchial version update correctly. In fact, you insinuate that the upgrade issued today had limited target versions which is of considerable concern to us as players. You have my support in rectifying, however am not able to provide the previous version number for you.

Just on a hunch, since it's done things like this before, and since you said you crashedà
àoccasionally, when the client dies, but the cedega/wine wrapper does not, so part of the client thinks it's already running and refuses to open up another instance of itself. Open the activity monitor and see if you find any process that seems wine-related and kill it. With a bit of luck, that'll allow you to restart EVE. ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |

Holy jesus, they use python for connecting clients to servers? No wonder there is a TON of lag...
There are a million better frameworks for connecting via C / C++.

Thanks for the patch, CCP, but this patch made the game worse than it was before: It used to crash, but you could start it up again. Now when it crashes, you have to boot computer because you can't start Eve again:

From CCP Tenitigo's post on page 1:
For those encountering crashes after patching the client, please try running the repair.exe tool located in your Eve install folder.
Bug reports can be filed at http://bugs.eveonline.com

I installed the patch, apparently successfully. Now the client appears to not even attempt to connect to the game server. I still get "Protocol: Unknown", and monitoring my TCP/UDP connections, I don't see any attempts by the client to connect to anything.
Any ideas?
Thank you for your efforts.

3hrs and counting
Patch downloads, starts to install tells me eve installation is corrupted asks to use the repair tool to fix it, says repair tool is out of date ask to download new repair tool, does so runs starts then hangs patch waiting in the Background.
Tried not letting it repair still hangs and won't patch.
DL'd 'new' repair tool on my own not through the patch, still hangs as in repair tool.
Been trying to DL the full client for the past two hours, completed 2x and then it starts the download again. Plenty of free space for it so I don't know WTF but thanks I can't play, I'm on DL #3 now.
Direct DL dies about halfway through it is the torrent DL that keeps restarting when it is near done or done I don't watch it for the whole 15-16minutes.
Best patch eva.

After I patched my game crashes everytime I start it. I get the initial splash screen then crash before the login screen "CCP ExeFile has encountered a problem and needs to close."
Tried the repair tool. It ran through showing no errors.
Still crashes trying to start.

Problem to report but as it is not about patching it may get lost in the noise anyway...
Issue: If a skill finished training during patch time, the next skill in the queue was not started Detail: I had a full skill training queue with about 4 short (~2 hour skills) followed by a nice long one, just in case The first skill finished just into d/t, but the next item in the queue was not started.
Petition submitted.
Cheers, Arrs

No such luck with Mac users, eh?
On my Macbook Pro, Eve is as buggy as ever, but after the patch it cannot recover from crashes but requires a reboot. I can't remember when was the last time I had to reboot my computer. Now I do it several times a day.

Im gettin this as well. Windows 7, 32 bit. Currently has the "unable to connect to 87.237.38.200 on port 26000". I have turned off firewall, turned on firewall with an exception, I have accessed my router and added an exception for 26000. No go on anything. Restarted several times, and I was leaning towards reinstalling, but if it doesnt work for him im not going to bother.
I loaded up ping plotter, 110 ping. The only thing I can find is that it appears the second hop shows 100% packet loss. I dont know what this means. There isnt a dns attached to the loss.
My router is set up... my firewall is fine... so why is it refusing to connect?

For those encountering a crash with the Tyrannis 1.0.4 client before the login screen appears:
We've narrowed down the likely cause of a crash to a program called Netlimiter. It appears that only the earliest version of this software is affected (1.xx). If you have this version installed, please uninstall it and restart your computer. The client should startup successfully afterward.
More recent versions of Netlimiter do not appear to be affected (Netlimiter 2 or Netlimiter 3 Beta).
If you are still encountering crashes and do not have Netlimiter installed, please file a bug report with a crashdump so we can investigate the crash further.

Update to my little problem, I made my computer DMZ through my router, did absolutely nothing. Also updated SISI to latest client to check if I still couldnt login, and yep still count. "unable to connect to ip(SISI IP) on port 26000"
Any ideas on what to check? Just give me something to work on.

Uninstalling Netlimiter allows me to get to login screen now, so seems like a resolved issue. Thanks! What an odd thing to cause a crash. I would never have considered it. Thanks for the rapid investigation and solution!

netlimiter is clearly not my problem

Holy jesus, they use python for connecting clients to servers? No wonder there is a TON of lag...
There are a million better frameworks for connecting via C / C++.
Off topic... You can use optimized C code in python...

xp 64bit here
trying to install the latest patch, from version 167296 ->174282
hangs on install :/
cant play to till tomorrow now arg
so...a bit of help please
1. Someone maybe want to EXPLAIN how to make a crash dump? I really like enjoy about this without a link or something :)
(wtf is netlimiter no i don't have that installed...so there is either more than one cause of this issue or the patch itself is causing problems that's my guess)
2. I looked up the info on this repair tool for anyone interested as CCP really doesnt have great support S.O.P.s here: http://support.eveonline.com/Pages/KB/Article.aspx?id=750
To clarify, CCP isn't great at support because they are geeks that know how to make a good game...doesn't mean they can relate to people...:)
I've never had a prob with eve in the last year Ive been playing
P.S. hey this isn't related to the latest .NET microsoft crap is it? I updated that just before eve cause windows auto updates said to install it...

I have new information on my problem of "unable to connect to 87.237.38.200 on port 1600" with the new patch. Apparently it is LINKED to the fact I am Running Windows 7.
I have updated and connected successfully with my second computer running Windows XP. It is no longer an issue with my router or ISP. It is just this computer running windows 7 and possibly something to do with the firewall (even though its off).
Any ideas CCP? I no longer know what to try, now that I know its win 7 thats doing it.

Server status UNKNOWN.
Unable to connect to server says I don't have internet on this computer.
I beg to differ.
Tried removing my router and plugging into the modem directly no effect, turned off windows fire wall nothing. Does not work on any of my 3 computers. XP Vista 64 and windows 7
I'm not the only one either.

I enjoyed how the auto patch kept getting me a corrupted patch file then wouldn't patch because it was corrupt but wouldn't delete it or download it again but instead tried to repair it and failed over and over.
Also was fun how out of 12 downloads of the client 11 were corrupted and of course the repair tool couldn't repair anything, ever I wonder if it being a 2.5 python version had anything to do with it? I guess I'll never know as I'm not ever using it again and won't ever use your auto patch again, that is what I get for trusting it.

patched today, cannot connect. i run game client, splash screen comes up, sits there a little longer than usual (I'm assuming because its trying to connect and cannot) the splash screen drops and as I am watching task manager processes the exeFile.exe never runs over 15k, the next stage of the process never starts, so officially the game client is not booting to the character login screen. i can leave the client running in the task manager processes and it will not crash, no blue screen, nothing. just sits there at 15k forever unless i end the process. so that means no dumps because it never crashes and never connects.
i'm sick of having to spend HOURS OF MY TIME trying to figure out what the problem is when YOU BREAK IT! all we did is install your patch! we changed nothing! this should be a HINT! lol get it together CCP there is a corrupt file somewhere with the wrong info in it regarding server/login server IP/Port. just a guess....
*repair tool doesnt fix the issue* I do not have NetLimiter installed*
UPDATE: FIXED if you are having my problem what i did was delete the EVE shortcut on your desktop, go to your eve install folder, then open your BIN folder, right click the ExeFile.exe launcher and create shortcut to your desktop and run. this fixed for me.

Yeah, that's three confirmed case of Alienware cooties with the same problem, I got an email saying "We are already aware of this problem, and have added your bugreport to the existing issue in our defect tracking system." Which is super cool because either A) They're sleeping or B) They're working to fix it, however I'm not sure if other alienware people have had this problem before, if so, it seems like it would've been fixed by now. I'm pretty sure I put up a long training queue before I went to bed last night but I'm not sure it'll last unless its fixed soon D:

Sorry, should have clarified, its a different error, I'm sure some people have experienced it before, but since they no doubt figured out how to deal with it, they're playing eve, and not looking at the support forums >.<
There is an issue that seems to be effecting alienware users that stops (at least for me), about half way through loading the character selection screen, and crashes, something about abnormal execution, if I knew how to fix it, I would tell the, at least other two people, who I've seen have the same issue, and I don't, and I don't know poop about any other issues, other than there seem to be a lot of them, which is a little bit silly for a game that's...seven years old? :P I'm really just mad that all my fun is gone and therefore I'm stuck in time out :(

Far out, None of the problems suggested already are anything to do with mine. I have even re-downloaded the game costing more of my limited downloads because I'm not getting any help from CCP. AT least Give the skill que more than 24hours so I can load it up for the inevitable ccp fallouts. I can handle not being able to play the freakin game but I'v payed my due's, But then I guess the EULA say's screw the customer, In CCP's case. Remind me why the fark I pay to play this again... somebody please...
I've only be playing for around 8 months and I can remember being more annoyed than Satisfied!
So I start up the game get to the log on screen it says
"UNABLE TO CONNECT TO 87.237.38.200 ON PORT 26000"
If anyone else can make suggestion I would be greatful.

Clownzor, I'm fairly sure that this is a long lasting problem, or if it was fixed some time ago, then something in the last patch has unfixed it, because I had an account for maybe a week or two, about a year ago, and on my other alienware this exact same thing happened. I can't remember if it was fixed or if I canceled my account, but either way I like eve enough now to not want to just bail, and I have a feeling that they're trying to fix a large number of problems that the patch caused, but you can tell from reading the forums that there is a lot of work that they're dealing with.
In the mean time I'm watching that alliance tournament from this year, its over there, on the left, with all those fun buttons, and its too hot to sleep, so Imma go watch people play eve, because I LIEK TO LERN THUNS GOODLY

Edited by: Ceo Manealev on 19/08/2010 13:29:25 Edited by: Ceo Manealev on 19/08/2010 13:26:08 Since I patched the client to version 6.30.174282 (1.0.4?) I am now also unable to connect. I instead simply get:
Unable to Connect to 87.237.38.200 on port 26000
As another player has mentioned above.
I guess I could open up a port on my router, but I don't really like doing that when it shouldn't be necessary. I'm not sure why the patch would cause this sort of problem. I've ran the repair tool without any change.
Running Win 7, and yes I cycled my machine and my router :p
EDIT: There you go, found the problem, it seems I can't have proxifier running in the background anymore (which I use for another MMO), turned it off and I can now connect to EVE *shrug*.
Also I agree with what someone said about using Python for the client - server connection code... wow, talk about outdated :p

I'm having the crash at login issue. It began right after the new patch installation. I do not, and have never had, netliner installed. Is this a program that is on the ISP side or the client's side? I find it difficult to believe that netliner is causing the problem if the program is on people's local machines - because I dont have it and I'm still having the same problem.

I'm having trouble with EVE client connecting via my http tunnel/proxifier. I normally run EVE on a laptop, and use HTTP-Tunnel and SocksCap v2 when behind corp firewall. The setup has been working near flawlessly for many months, but since the 1.0.4 patch, the EVE client cannot even hit HTTP-Tunnel. The tunnel still works fine for other apps and for web.
EVE client connects normally on the laptop from my home location. However, since the patch, it is NOT able to connect when run on my home desktop machine (which also has a history of fine EVE performance).
I'm not using Netlimiter, and the client does not crash. It simply reports Server: Tranquility, Status: 'Unknown'.
Also, I AM able to open a telnet session via the HTTP-Tunnel connection to the EVE game server IP (of course it returns garbage, but the connection definitely shows up on the tunnel.
Let me know if i can provide any further detail that might help. I collected LogServer data through one complete client startup sequence. Where can I submit that?
Thank you very much. Nolanaste

Only my windows 7 computer is effected (my xp laptop, which can login and fix skills but not much else, has no problems.) Not sure what next to try.
But why would xfire be doing anything to eve? I used to use xfire alot, and alot of players use it. I dont want to have to sacrifice good programs just to play eve...

Since the lat patch I also have been unable to play using Alienware laptop. Tried all the usual stuff - patching/re downloading/re-installing, get the same error - abnormal termination.
Then I downloaded all the latest drivers for Alienware and logged into Eve for the first time since the patch.
Hope this helps. |

Installation files corrupt.
Downloaded data package corrupt.

I have wiped Eve clean off my PC and started fresh. Now it won't even let me install it because it says the file is corrupt. I've tried everything I can possibly think of and I'm aggravated beyond belief.
No, I'm not using Alienware.

Well, I am hoping someone can help me here.
I am using a 2008 macbook pro, before the patch on 08/18/10, EVE was working fine, since the patch, I can start eve and it runs fine, when I log out of eve, without turning off my computer, if I try and start EVE again, it tells me that it cannot open.
To get EVE to work, I have to restart my computer and then start EVE and it will run fine, log off and try to restart, tells me it cannot open.
I removed EVE from my computer and downloaded the client again but still the same problem.
Can someone help me please...

Confirming this. I did this exact same thing today and it's really starting to get annoying. Sometimes it doesn't even show an error, i click the icon and nothing happens. Oddly enough, I check the activity monitor and eve online is there, but it's not using any CPU or anything.

Hi,
See if clearing your cache and settings folders helps, corrupt cache and settings files can cause ingame items and information being shown incorrectly or not at all. It can also cause players, ships and items to function improperly.
For this, you need to locate the following folder, assuming that you have installed EVE in the default location C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE : ( is C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE on 64bit versions of Windows )
Press Windows Key + R and paste the following line into the Run window.
Windows XP: %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE Windows Vista/Windows 7: %LOCALAPPDATA%\CCP\EVE\
There you will find a folder that is named 'c_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility' (asuming you've installed EVE in the default location), rename/move all of the folders (for example rename it to 'c_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility.backup'), in order to save them. Then relog and try again.
Do note that copying the settings folder or any of it's files back may cause your problems to resurface, this includes the prefs.ini file.

I don't think CCP isn't in a hurry to solve the problem, I think there's a lot of problems, and I think most of the people trying to fix the problems would rather try to fix the problems than send out a large amount of emails saying we haven't fixed it yet. I mean don't get me wrong I'm bored out of my mind and pretty upset but moping and yelling and screaming doesn't seem to productive. Everyone who is locked out should do something fun together, like, well I don't know, but someone should think of something, and we should do it, like an art contest, or we should build real space ships and fight with them.

Hi All, day 3.
Just to inform you, my game still does not work.
Here is what it does do: I activate the game to start, the Tyrannis Splash-Screen shows, then the game crashes. The a windows error massage pops-up.
Here is what I tried so far: 1.Set game back to previous state and patched it again and again. *** NO EFFECT ***
2.I downloaded the full new version, I reinstalled the entire game. *** NO EFFECT ***
3.I removed all character game data. *** NO EFFECT ***
4.I installed Netlimiter latest version, not that I ever used it before. *** NO EFFECT ***
What does work: When I start the version of the game from before the patch the game starts normally, but the version is incompatible so no good for playing.
What I can do now is wait for CCP to fix the issue or reinstall my entire system. But I donÆt want reinstall everything.
Has anyone that had the same issue any tips for me / us. |

I had 17 drivers/apps to update but I didn't choose them all. I left out the bios updates and some disck updates which left 13 or so to download. I figure it must be something to do with network access although I really don't know.
After the updates and restart I managed to log back in

Hey Guys,
Reading this thread I have an idea of something you guys should try:
1. Get the latest drivers for all hardware.
2. Create a new Windows User and log into it, once you are in get to a Run box and type "msconfig". Under the Startup tab disable all items and under the Services tab check the "Hide All Microsoft Services" and disable the rest of the items. Restart the computer after doing this.
3. Try to log into EVE using this new user account.

It canÆt be a driver issue if you ask me. The main problem is the old version of EVE still works perfectly. CCP just messed up / or changed something in the new version, thatÆs why itÆs not working.
We all waiting for CCP to tell us what they changed, so we all know where to look and fix it.

and it did not work, tried it in every possible combination
its not my drivers, or a other program that is interfearing i think.

I have returned. And at me two news.
- Good consists in that that I can start now EVE on the computer.
- Bad news, I don't know that caused.
I wanted to reinstall for a long time system. But a considerable quantity of useful programs didn't allow to me to make it. And here I have dared, and have made it.
Search in the register. On 90% it is assured that this what consequence of work or programs (even for a long time removed). I already had cases, difficulties because of the conflict of work of the new and old (remote) anti-virus software.
Good luck friends!

I only recenly started running my laptop which has vista (it was free so cant complain about that) and was using my proxy for my home network for which I use analogX which uses a default port of 6588 for http traffic, where my main desktop pc is connected to the internet at 192.168.1.100 and laptop is at 192.168.107
Like many others the error after the patch all stopped working, as I used that downtime to run a virus check and other program clean up I thought I had changed something, but read these posts.\
Using the log server that is provided in the Eve directory I let that run, clicked off the colored i and ! icons and left the red ! and these warnings show when I try to click connect in eve.
(10057, 'Socket is not connected', 'ConnectEx failed with error 0: The operation completed successfully.\r\n')
Could not connect to server. Error: [PatchVersionCheckFailed.error] Version Check Failed - A network-related communication error occurred while trying to check for a patch.<br><br> Further Information: [Errno url error] invalid proxy for http: '192.168.1.100:6588' {'error': "[Errno url error] invalid proxy for http: '192.168.1.100:6588'"}
(10057, 'Socket is not connected', 'ConnectEx failed with error 0: The operation completed successfully.\r\n')
So from what I understand a proxy runs on a higher layer of tcp/ip and I can only guess that the programmers did something that makes the patched eve not see this as I can run eve on this vista laptop if I plug it in directly to my internet.
Do others get the same log errors?

So far ccp has suggested I try pinging the server (110) and uninstalling any proxy software (of which I still have none.) Of course, I'm runnin Win7, while my crappy laptop running XP has no problems.
Any ideas from you guys? Router's port has already been opened, firewall is off. Im out of ideas.
Edit: yea I'm about to the point of reinstalling win7 which is stupid. Updating eve shouldnt make you uninstall half your programs and reinstall windows to get it to run.

Glad that this worked, another thing I can think of for the other people is that try to uninstall any program that monitors or controls your internet access, such as Anti-Virus, Firewalls, DNS Services or programs that monitor content and also try disabling Windows Firewall
Please note to include any Microsoft software that does this as well in this purge.

Am still unable to start Eve, still crashes at post eve banner, before the log in screen appears. Have logged into my Eve account on a friends installation and all is good, so therefore the problem appears to be system specific to my PC hardware (as with many others amongst you too). Yes, my drivers are up to date:-)
The suggestion of creating another user was also unsuccessful on my PC and basically produced the identical crash. This somewhat concerned me, as to minimise the risk of Eve crashing I had disabled just about everything (as advised in earlier post) including my Firewall, something I will NEVER do on a continual basis, even for Eve.
So now, three days and counting: a weekend in front of us where support is unlikely to assist us, the PAX fair has absorbed the best of Eve techies to sell this product, so it is highly probable, those of us with problems, will be without Eve for a considerable amount of time yet.
However, if any of you out there have any suggestions that have worked for you that might be of interest to those of us unable to connect, then please advise.

My game is working now.
I had to uninstall: - McAfee VirusScan / Fire wall Pro Edition 7.0
I am happy the game is working again, but I am now unprotected against PC gankers / griefers.
I will look into this a bit more tomorrow. ******************************************** |

To confirm the driver issue, I just put eve on my maybe 5 year old, hasn't been used in 2 year computer, and it works fine, other than I don't really like the computer, but at least I can put on training queues. The only suggestion I could think of is finding someone nearby who plays eve and hoping they can go on and using their computer if you don't have a backup, I think they'll have the problems fixed soon.

Originally by: sunstryykar I was having issues Eve crashing before the Logon screen. My issue was Netnanny. I uninstalled netnanny and EVE works now. I need to keep netnanny installed for my kids but at least now I know what the issue is.
Attn. Sunstryykar.
I also have netnanny installed and I havnt been able to use eve for the past few days because of the same issue. However, I went into the program appliaction exceptions and added EXEFILE.EXE. All capped because the exefile.exe is DIFFERENT from eve.exe. I did not realize this until I was browsing through my eve install folder and found the exefile.exe inside of the BIN folder. I would encourage you to add exefile.exe to your application exceptions as it fixed the problem for me.
Good Luck!

Not sure if this helps, but I was unable to log on since the patch on Wed. as well. I just noticed that windows had two updates waiting. So I shutdown/installed and now I can finnaly log into EVE. BTW I first tried the repair.exe and it did not work. unfortunately, I didn't note what the windows patches were :( |

OK all I guess this is it. My subs run out tomorrow on both of my Accounts, CCP GM have replied to my Petition and we have been going back and forth for 3 days and I have tried all the stuff they suggested aside from wiping my PC and reinstalling everything. (I ain't going there) so even if they fix it I won't be able to check if it works.
Good bye EVE and all the awesome people out there in the eve world I'm really sorry that many of you are in the same position as me. I would have been sacked in my Customer service job for allowing something of this magnitude happen, or at least not fixing said problem. So I guess the only obvious thing to do is to sack CCP...

Installation files corrupt.
Downloaded data package corrupt.
Repair does not help. It causes a python exception error.
I have wiped Eve clean off my PC and started fresh. Now it won't even let me install it because it says the file is corrupt. I've tried everything I can possibly think of and I'm aggravated beyond belief.
No, I'm not using Alienware.
The following are pics of the errors I've received:
If you haven't already tried dl the patch manually or locate the file, Eve...174282.exe and delete it then try DL it again. I had the same corrupt issues where the repair tool called the patch the client and couldn't repair it as it was corrupt then wouldn't DL it again or delete it.
Manually downloading the patch and applying it solved that for me, I don't know if there is another issue you are having with EVE itself, I also tried the suggestion of creating a file named eve.exe putting the repair tool in that folder and running it so it could DL the files and 'build' the eve.exe when I thought EVE was 'corrupt' when it was just the patch, but it still didn't work for me, python error/froze up.
http://support.eveonline.com/Pages/KB/Article.aspx?id=750
I had to DL the client about 13x to get the full offline installer that wasn't corrupt, which I'm burning to a DVD and backing up incase I ever need it again. IIRC it was the web/browser DL that made it through okay after all my attempts. -------------------------------------------------------------- Fanboys would make great cult members. |

(quote) GM Retrofire Sent - 8/20/2010 10:50:00 PM Hi.
I installed CyberPatrol on my end to test this out and it seems that it does the same, I tried every filter available but it didn't allow me to start up EVE under any circumstances even with all filters off and all programs allowed. Closing down CyberPatrol did not help either, I had to completely uninstall it before it allowed me to start EVE up again.
I'll notify the developers on my findings so they can further investigate.

Well it looks like this is causing my problem of not being able to get past the splash screen to the login screen. We will see how long it takes them to patch this.

I have gone through this thread... and I have not see this mentioned...
I have not been having the exact same issue as everyone else. I also am not running any additional software (network related). I am running Vista 64 on 2 PCs and usually run a single instance per PC. What was happening, was that I could connect to a single instance of Eve without issues for about 30-45 minutes before it would drop the connection. If I started a second instance (on either the other PC or the one with the first instance)... I would loose connectivity to Trinity, TS, and several other internet connections.
I did think that maybe my router had an issue, but after checking connectivity from a 3rd computer through the router, it was not the issue. just the two PCs running Eve.
So I started to think that something wasn't right. Not sure what made me think about it, but I thought about the ports. There is this thread: Problems Connecting on Port 26000... It talks about an alternate port to use for Eve. So in the interest of just trying, I change the port on one instance to the one listed in the article and left the second instance at 26000. To my surprised eyes, the one I changed never dropped for over 2 hours, but the one I left at the standard port constantly dropped connection in 5-30 minutes after I logged in.
So I changed all of my clients to run with the alternate port and have not had any issues.
Not sure if you guys have tried it, but it might be worth it to see if you can connect and play.
I am going to do some additional investigating to see what I can find. I am by no means saying this will fix the issue. It did resolve it for me until CCP can figure out exactly what happened to cause this issue.

EVE doesn't seem to like Proxycap on my Win7 x64 installation, even though the rules are set up to ONLY redirect WoW traffic, and it worked fine up until this latest patch.
Even after quitting out of Proxycap, the game constantly disconnects me within a minute or two of logging in.
Damn it, test your patches before throwing them out like this. In my opinion we should be getting reimbursed for the time wasted by all this. |

Originally by: Goofy Goober does anyone here have a program called netnanny or anything like that on your pc's? i did and i uninstalled it and it works now... kids just won't be going on the computer till it gets fixed...
Thank you very much for this input. I was having issues with the Eve client beginning after the new patch. The splash screen would start and then an error message from windows saying it needed to shut down the client. I got so frustrated that I reformatted my hard drive and bought Windows 7 (had XP before). After installing the Eve client, all was well. Then I installed NetNanny and the same issue developed immediately with the Eve client. If they haven't yet done so, CCP needs to make a serious note of this issue. I have done the troubleshooting at my end and as far as NetNanny is concerned, it is confirmed to be the issue I and others had. What issue others are having, I don't know. I do know that I never had issues running NetNanny and the Eve client before this new patch. So CCP most certainly changed something that is connected with this. Perhaps a 3rd party program issue is part of the problem with others as well, even if it's not NetNanny that they have.
Hope this helps others as well.

Dear EVE peoples,
I wanted to update you on my situation. I'm unable to connect to the I.P. address.
1, My system dose not clash with the update nor does it crash. 2, I get the slash screen and I also get the login page. 3, I am able to connect to EVE Gate, EVE Mon, I can log into this forum.
I have tried to change from port 26000 to port 3724 and I still cannot connect port. I have allowed eve through my firewall and my Antivirus and anti spyware are not listed as problems for eve (though I wouldn't play eve without them anyway) I use Avast antivirus and SUPER anti spyware for protection. I've cleared the cache and everything else I have been asked to do. I have installed and recorded my connection via Pingplotter and I get massive Packet loss when my line leaves my country, however I can connect to servers elsewhere and other online games...
I have also contacted my Internet provider and they have also checked my connection to the internet and they say I have a good connection, They don't have the authority to check the eve I.P. address 87.237.38.200 I wonder if the address is incorrect?
Anyways that is where I got to so far. I still think this is a patch error made by ccp, possibly forgot to tick a box or 2, it can happen.

We have deployed a client to Singularity (v6.31.175988) that may help address the following issues:
- The client crashes before the login screen appears.
- The client is unable to connect to the server when connecting via proxy software.
If you are experiencing either of these issues we'd appreciate your help in verifying that the issues are resolved.
Steps to setting up an install for Singularity can be found here. The current Singularity patch can be downloaded from here.
Please remember to create a copy of your Tranquility client before applying the patch. The Singularity client is not compatible with Tranquility.

I'm seeing weird memory behavior, with memory usage going up by about 60 megs per star gate jump. I have witnessed a bunch of memory being released (300 megs one time) but mostly it seems to keep climbing.
I've also experienced intermittent eve client crashes when jumping through star gates which I think is related. Normally does half a dozen or more fine, then maybe slows down a bit then dies completely jumping from one empty system into another (even when its been doing that jump fine a couple of minutes before and does it fine again after I relog). I seem to end up in the destination system after the crash.
My computer grinds to a halt as it tries to make a dump with me looking at the departure star gate. As the four or five times this has happened have all been in low/null sec I've been forced to manually kill the processes to get back into the game before someone kills me.

I'd love to say I'v fixed my problem but after 9 days with no eve, I have tried almost everything and if I were confident with IT I would reinstall everything but I'm not so I won't. Today is the last day of my subscription with 2 Accounts equaling over $40 a month not much for CCP but allot for me. It is a shame to not have seen many replies on this thread from CCP. They have suggested I uninstall Avast and super-anti spyware and my fire walls, but I don't want to become unprotected in the cyber world that would be like flying my pod through red territory in Null sec back and forth for 5 hours hoping not to get podded.
So this is I guess my last goodbye to eve. Goodbye pod people. EVE is now un-installed from my system and all ticking along very well. I guess all I need to do now is overcome the addiction withdrawals.

has there been an actual fix for "cannot connect to ********* on port 26000/3724" issue?
or has everyone given up wasting time on asking ccp?

Still waiting for at least an ETA on the patch passing singularity tests and being moved over to tranquility. (To fix the network stacking issues).

Any ETA on warp destination detection exploit ? For someone "committed to excellence" having such issue since the times of supersafespotbuster v.2 should be extremely embarrassing.

but still 13days of eve kinda sucks guys will we get our lost gametime refunded or a sp gift or something like that? Fly like your going to die because death comes to us all. tm |

Be prepared
Before patch day, start a long skill on your character if you are concerned with possible loss of skill training time. Should there be difficulties in patch deployment, you will at least be using the time to train skills. Lost skill training time is not reimbursed by customer support.

Regrettably I failed to follow this and put a long enough skill in. Which is my own fault. I don't think they should give any sp out for this. The part that makes me irritated is losing vacation time from work and school and not making isk and increasing standings with all my pilots.

I just patched EVE, I haven't played in two weeks so I'm not sure if there have been any more patches between now and then but my issue is:
HARD CRASHES/FREEZES
The system totally locks up, "Caps Lock light does not toggle when the key is pressed." (A method I use to detect hard-freezes.
Anyways:
It's either this new patch for eve, creating some loops that the cpu thread gets stuck in or it might be something to do with my gfx card. ATI X1900XT, not the latest drivers though, will update and see if it works.
OR, it could be a USB 3G internet dongle but I am very skeptical about that since the system has only locked up when EVE was running.
Of note is that it crashed during session changes.
While:
Switching ships
Ship initiating warp to a gate
Hope this helps with the issue. -

I've been having issues before and after this patch. The EVE client will crash and kill my internet connection everytime I use an out-of-game browser session (like browsing through a website). To fixt the issue, I have restart my computer. Any thoughts on this? Is there a way to fix this?
OS: Windows Vista (with all the latest patches) RAM: 4GB

Why cant they just leave it alone??
just STOP MAKING USELES PATCHES!!!

Originally by: Renaka Calmindra Yeah, that's three confirmed case of Alienware cooties with the same problem, I got an email saying "We are already aware of this problem, and have added your bugreport to the existing issue in our defect tracking system." Which is super cool because either A) They're sleeping or B) They're working to fix it, however I'm not sure if other alienware people have had this problem before, if so, it seems like it would've been fixed by now. I'm pretty sure I put up a long training queue before I went to bed last night but I'm not sure it'll last unless its fixed soon D:
