Earlier this morning a ceremony was held on the forward deck of Noobjuice's titan. Present were such dignitaries as CAMPAIGN COMMANDER FINTROLL, Backup FC Shadoo, Morale Officer Jogyn, and Commissar Krutoj. Vice Admiral Ray Butts was also in attendance.
Bobby Atlas, feigning illness, failed to attend and Atlas Alliance was represented by Dastommy, who signed the following agreement:
Quote: This war has ended today with the surrender of Atlas alliance to the Russians.
Both sides have deposited collateral with Chribba to ensure compliance, and Atlas has agreed to the following conditions:
-Atlas will provide 2 titans and 3 supercarriers to the XiX/WN/RA coalition -Atlas will drop the Atlas alliance name -The Russians and PL will set temp blue status to Atlas to allow them to evac their old space -The remaining CSAAs active in Omist will be allowed to complete their production
With the complete destruction of Atlas Alliance, Pandemic Legion has begun to de-mobilize from the region. Shamis Orzoz issued a message of MISSION ACCOMPLISHED to all PL personnel, while Shadoo presented the following interim orders:
Originally by: "Shadoo" # GET DRUNK
The somewhat poorly named VD Day (Victory in Detorid) has been marked with debaucherous celebration amongst the Legion and their Russian comrades, as Atlas forces stream outwards from their fallen capital on a cyno route of tears to their refuge in Omist.
To all former members of Atlas, the blind greed of your leadership led you to this point. We wish you a peaceful future as non-combatants of the Russian bloc.
Farewell.

Well played. Hopefully we can come back and bite you in the ass some day. Or maybe not, who cares? The Get drunk order applies to all sides?

Wow. Hard to believe an entity would agree to that. I guess it really was over.
Nice campaign, guys.

Not much choice for us really, being in total disarray as we were. We minimize our losses and give a chance for hundreds of pilots to get their **** out. Also keep in mind it's August, we had a lot of people who simply was not going to sit in front of a PC to defend internet spaceships but who appreciate being able to get their **** out.
The name thing is indeed painful but tbh I believe that with Bobby Atlas no longer among us it'd really make no sense for us to keep that name, being as he has been the life behind the alliance workings for the last 2 years.
We leave behind an alliance that has been involved in most of the biggest cap slugfests in the History of EVE, who aside from all trolling as never been afraid of "bringing it" and whose diplomatic misshaps are certainly in line with that certain "who the **** cares about srs bsns" attitude that has been a trademark of the alliance. Hopefully whatever comes next will live up to that.
And if it doesn't, we can always look back and remember the "good times".
To all of you who've made Atlas the fun place it's been for as long as I've been here, gay salute

Yeah. I can understand that. It's tough to say what one would do unless you were actually in that position.
I guess you guys burned brightly and quickly.

Edited by: ImmaSplodeYou on 29/08/2010 21:00:43 I have to give props to both sides, despite watching the forum warrioring on both sides and the valiant lagfest throughout the south, according to the killboards there were some nice fights. So I must say well defended to ATLAS and their friends, and commiserations, and Congratulations to the Russkies.
I only ask that RA and XXDEATH set up a free vodka distillery in 0-W for the whole of EVE to enjoy.
Does the get drunk order apply to Neutrals?

In other news, -A- is about to reset Atlas in digust, and has already begun roaming evacuation routes.
I heard a rumour that this was all started by Bobby being rude to the Russians on their TS. I guess that was kinda dumb given that he wasn't around to lead the alliance against the inevitable backlash.
Some interesting politics here. I understand the PL contract was until the removal of all Atlas sov or the destruction of the alliance. By losing the name, one of those conditions becomes fulfilled. I wonder who chose that condition?
Oh, and what also is not mentioned is that the entire surrender is to save supercaps in CSAAs in Omist, and that the price is is being paid to XiX in the form of constructed supercaps (presumably to sell on eBay). That's from official announcements by Atlas leadership.
I also hear PL were paid in supercaps, but that could just be rumour.
From the gameplay point of view, it is interesting that supercaps appear to be a threshold in terms of willingness to risk assets. Russians/PL happily deployed them when they had superior numbers, and may have been willing to deploy in a fair fight, but Atlas was not. The entire surrender reflects that some people value hundreds of billions of Isk more than they do their pride.
