I have an harpy, i can probably trade it for prophecy, the question is, can i fit for 0.0? 0.1 was VERY easy for me back a month ago when i had one.
Heres what im thinking about:
5* Light/Heavy Neutron Blaster Medium Nosferatu Microwarpdrive 2* Cap Recharger Medium Armor Repairer Armor Thermic Hardener (50%) Passive Armor EM Hardener (i think its 30%) Passive Armor Thermal Hardener (30%) 2* Capacitor Relay
should i use another hardener combo? lasers insted of blasters? Should i trade the passive hardeners for a 1600mm Plate and use Light Neutron Blaster IIs? Please share with me ur ideas.

I would suggest using lasers over blasters, as amarr ships are much more in favour of them. As for the hardners, it depends what type of rat your going against, as different factions use different damage types.

Fit 6 heavy pulse and a heavy launcher or 4 heavy pulse and 2 small lasers. then a med rep 2 based armour tank, with 3 or 4 hardeners. 3 if active 4 if passive. then cap relays or webs or whatevr for mids.
Using hybrids on this shipis retarded, especially blasters since you HAVE to get close to your target which requires a mwd or oversize ab -

Edited by: Emeline Cabernet on 27/12/2004 04:16:02 Try this: 6x heavy pulse, 1 rocket launcher with defenders 2x cap recharge, 1x web 2 cpr, 3 different hardeners, t2 medium repair. Against blood use 1x em hardener and 2x thermal.

Good setup, mine is very similar. Biggest problem is the time it takes to pick up loot.

Edited by: Emeline Cabernet on 27/12/2004 04:37:30 yeah, driving 90km doing 170m/s isn't all that fun
whats an easy spawn? you should be able to take 500-750k bs's with this.

If you like speed (like I do), you could swap second recharger to tech2 10mn afterburner. Swap also one heavy pulse to medium nosferatu. Looting and killing smaller ships becomes less painful. Disadvantage is that your damage output is slightly reduced. This means you have to tank a little longer against bigger ships, but it's certainly worth a try.

Edited by: Dred 'Morte on 27/12/2004 15:59:32 Why are lasers favoured by amarr ships? the only bonus prophecy has to lasers is the -10% cap use. with Battlecruisers 3 or 4, an heavy pulse wouldnt do use less cap than a small/med blaster. Also, microwarpdriving isnt a problem for me, afaik, if you get very close to a med/long range ship has most high bounty blood raiders are, enemy will start to miss.
edit: what is the stasis web for, if u dont have mwd? frigs? even if pulses do hit at such close range, wouldnt the light drones be enough?

Lasers are more flexible than blasters, you can knock shields down at 30k+ with radio and armour/structure at 10k and under with gamma or multi freq. Webbed interceptors go down very fast with 6 heavy pulses on them, alot faster than if you try and let your drones do it themselves. MWD is not a good idea since it gimps your cap which you need to tank.

Can a Prophecy tank an npc Megathron with blasters? I couldn't. Despite having relevant resistances at 70% +
The only way I beat that 2.5mil mega was to get drones on him before he targeted me. After that it wasn't an issue. Took me quite some time to break his armor tank with 6 heavy pulse though.

with blasters, that megat has crap range, just use your speed, stay outside his range, and pound him with lasers

The Mega did 440m/s in the deadspace.
My prophecy hits 360 or so.. maybe a bit more. Can't remember. Sure he uses it in bursts. And yes I can tank his dmg alone for a while.
Its harder ofcourse with 14 cruisers taking pot shots at me. Anyhow. I got him with the help of a couple of fast warrior drones.

Edited by: Liz Bathory on 28/12/2004 04:04:02 get a 10mn ab t2, and train accel control 5, and you will get about 500m/s out of it with accel control 4, nav 5, about 487m/s, enough to outspeed the megat
any bc or cruiser with decent skills, will sufficiently outspeed any battlship but the typhoon, to control the range completely

Edited by: von Torgo on 03/01/2005 07:53:11 Come to think of it, does web actually do you any good? I mean medium drones will gank frigates effectively. Besides with nosferatu fitted, they should soon run out of cap. I haven't tested this setup yet, but I will give it try in 0.0: HI: 5x heavy pulse, medium nosferatu, rocket launcher (w defenders) MID: 10mn AB, Cap recharger, Tracking cpu LO: medium armor repairer, 3x armor hardener, 2x cap pwr relay
Use t2 modules when possible.
Comments appreciated.
Edit And to comment myself... You are much better off with web. If you're planning to use cruiser sized weapons, keep it fitted. I was very disappointed with drones ability to gank anything. In most cases it is better to have heavy launcher instead of rocket launcher.

Has anyone tried going peerly for the tanking?
Using your worst resist, kinetic, at a base of %20, let's take a look at what we can get.
Easiest way to calculate resists, I find, is looking at them backwards. Instead of %20 resist, I think %80 vulnerable. First, apply a lvl 4 BC skill to get you down to 80 * .75 = <60>. I like using an energized adaptive nano membrane II for a %20 to all. This gives you 60 * .8 = 48. Apply a hardener and get 48 * .5 = 24. A second hardener or an energized plating would get you either 24 * .75 = 18 (hardener) or 24 * .675 = 16.2 (This is the energized plating. I may be wrong here: I don't know if a magnetic energized takes a stack penalty for using the energized adaptive. If so, it is 24 * .8375 = 20.1). Still need the med repairer, giving you 320/9.6 = 33.33 armor/second with repair systems lvl 4. Apply resists, and you're tanking over 160 damage/second ([100/20.1] * 33.33 = 165.837) using your worst resist with the second energized plating w/stacking penalty, or up to 185/second using the second hardener.
I haven't the experience to tell if this is enough to stand alone in many situations, but it sure sounds like it could. I haven't heard of anyone else using them, but I've found medium capacitor boosters (yes, those booster things that clog your cargo hold during missions) to be a great way to free up your capacitor. These alone can sustain almost anything, just using a little cargo space.
Depending on the situation, they may or may not be the way to go. Sometimes nos work better, and sometimes you can just get your recharge rate high enough. Anyone care to pick through my ideas? |

That would be explosive - not kinetic.

First, apply a lvl 4 BC skill to get you down to 80 * .75 = <60>.
It's 5% per level. So explosive resistance would be 20+(80*0,2)=36

So basicly what you are saying is that use 2 hardeners, one membrane and a med repairer. Isn't that what everyone else is using already? Mind the exception that I usually use third hardener instead of membrane.

I have. It does.

Ok. A short simplified course for capacitor calculations. Let's say you have energy management and systems operation at lvl4. And let's say you use only CPR and CR (t2). First calculate your cap consumption. I'll use 25/s here as example.
Now divide it by 2,5 (or by 2 if you want to be on safe side or don't have nosf). We'll get 10/s to compare with. Now let's calculate our average recharge rate. We get equation (1800*1,2)/(600*0,8^[x+1]) > 10 , where x is the number of rechargers. => 0,8^[x+1] < 2160/6000 => x = 4 We would need 4 rechargers to keep this example setup running 24/7. (Which is pretty close approximation from my own prop setup)
