Even after the #2 optional patch is applied, one of my clients is sporadically experiencing the Overview duplication problem when undocking from a station.
I have been able to 'fix' this problem by switching overview tabs.
Fail patch is still fail.

I'm also experiencing sporadic overview double-vision. Further, the corporation wallet transaction tab is not showing correctly. When filtering by "buy" or "sell" it's showing items from 2010.09.22. This is new as far as I know. The personal wallet transactions are showing fine with any filter.

Personally i think an "optional" patch would have been something like ohh i dunno if you want those pesky lights on your AW computer to work. not something that has to do with the overview. but i'm not here to rant.
for those of you that are getting the double listings on the overview. click in space hit tab twice and it should be back to normal.

Edited by: Lederstrumpf on 05/10/2010 15:09:29 Any minor patch NOT introducing new bugs is a win, as finally the end product converges to be bug free.
And even if there is new bugs getting introduced by patches:
If the sum of total remaining bugs decrease, it at the end converges to an excellent product, too!
So thumbs up for the effort of hacking away and trying to fix fast what QA didn't get!

Optional Upgrades
Build 187703
* Tyrannis 1.1 UI Fixes #2 The following update is a second optional patch for Tyrannis 1.1 and it is highly recommended that all players download and install. A full list of Tyrannis 1.1 updates can be found at the patch notes page.
The first Tyrannis 1.1 optional patch has been removed from the server and all fixes are now included in this second patch. If you chose not to install this patch the first one will be uninstalled as well. Once again, it is highly recommended you install this patch. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Their current business model suggests they they don't need to make it decent as long as they keep adding new features.
Exactly my dear lady. Other companies have realised it pays to take some time to focus on bugs and polish occasionally, not always on new features. Why can't CCP? Hell - I'm seeing nothing hugely compelling in the next expansion anyway. Who cares if it's put off, so long as we can play now? -- Frog blast the vent core! |

"what QA didn't get"??? The bastards already KNEW about the majority of 1.1's UI issues. Players had reported them during testing on Singularity! They didn't 'slip by'. The fusterclucks in Q&A simply ignored the bloody bug reports LOL -- Frog blast the vent core! |

Hello CCP,
i usually dont do that, but i need to whine a bit:
First you implement a patch, this one was bugged, then you implemented an optional patch for the patch, this one worked for me, then you implemented an optional patch #2 and delete #1, which is from my point of view not a patch, its a refactor and not optional for me but mandatory. I have now #2 and i just tried to link Characters in an evemail, wont work, unless you mark a few letters before the character names and ignore the last ones. Looking forward to find more stuff.
btw, it would be GREAT if you bring a mandatory optional patch #3 you provide it in the download area as an offline patch, as my internet connection sucks the first two weeks of a month because german internet companys suck and it needs about 15 minutes per client per computer to download one of them.
So, now that i unvealed myself as a german nerd with multiple machines and clients im just gonna wait until friday or so, when you make a mandatory optional reinstall (redownload) for the whole client.

I think whats probably closer to the truth is that the 'man at the top' has his vision of what will happen, and basically, things WILL happen on the dates he has outlined. Im 100% certain QA knew that this would create problems, but were over-ruled in order to keep the whole caboodle running on the deadlines already created/agreed by 'him up there'.

I'm pleased with these patches because...
1. I've seen many EVE patches/expansions that cripple my game play and are not fixed for several months until the next major patch comes out.
2. I like the faster response repair patches with frequent posts from the GMs. I feel like they're listening.
3. These patches aren't available for manual download CCP made them installable from in game. Though I prefer the manual patching this in game install method does work on my linux system!

I still don't get why you have to Log Into the game to download the patch. Then the client updates itself, restarts, and you have to log in again to play. *shrug*
It appears they did fix things with this second patch. I previously had "lag" when changing characters. When I would select another character the portrait took a second or two longer to change out. Now it works fine. As far as problems with the UI, not sure yet.
CCP thanks for the speedy fix(es).

Both pre and post October 5 optional patch.
Worked fine prior to original patch, did not use between original patch and October 2 patch which I did opt for.
Activate Residual Survey Scanner 1, appears to conduct scan, pop-up window that should show scan results is more of a pop-up header with a window title and pin/unpin, minimize and close buttons. No survey results are displayed (asteroids were within scan range). I deleted my cache files and the problem persists.

I'm really getting tired of posts like this and other endless tirades about how ccp and/or eve sucks so much. If the game is so bad then go play something else. Why do you continue to pay a subscription for, in your opinion, such an unplayable and unenjoyable game? Who's the idiot?
What sense is it to cry "ccp sucks!!!1!!1 look at them fail again HAHAHAHAHAHHHAAAHAAA444! ...... here's $15..." If the bugs are so 'game-breaking' and ccp is so terrible then do us all a favor stop paying to play a broken game.
If Eve, even with the bugs, is still worth your $15, then bug report it and wait for it to be fixed instead of raging on the forums like impatient children.

Edited by: Ay Liz on 05/10/2010 20:33:05 There is still that very annoying bug that turns all brackets off. You know, the same way "Hide all brackets" does. The only solution is to relog.
Happens randomly when jumping through gates in empire (i never had it happen in 0.0 yet).
