I know there are sticky's for ship set ups, but cant find any for Destroyers. I need a hand with my Cer'cer, having problems getting a good set-up. All suggestions welcome including trying another Des. Thanks for you time

8 dual light pulse, warp disruptor, small armor repairer, and as many damage mods that you can fit. Replace any gap in your lows by a cap relay.
use named/T2 only if you can easily afford to lose it, as destroyers are very fragiles.
Don't worry too much about cap recharge, because your battles will be very short. If you find something that isn't bigger than you, it will be dead in no time or fleeing, but if you stumble over something nasty, like an assault frig or a cruiser, all the cap of the world won't save your ship.

my favourite destroyer is the gallente one, I think the important thing about destroyers is they should be cheap and cheerful.
I like:
8x electron mwd, web mapc, small armour rep, 400mm plate
works fine for pvp and npc

Edited by: Dewar Scrabulous on 04/01/2005 20:09:36 I run with a pretty cheap setup that's good for most NPC situations, even/especially big ships.
Highs 2 Small Nospheratu (Preferably Named, they're pretty cheap) 6 Dual Pulse Lasers
Medium 1MN Afterburner (Named is very important here, and still pretty cheap)
Lows 2 Energized Adaptive Nanos 1 Small Armor Repair (Named would be nice here, but I don't have one) 1 200mm Rolled Tungsten Plate (This boy might be expensive, I dunno, I looted it. Any 200mm should suffice)
With the armor repair and the Tungsten, my coercer can tank quite a lot of fire. Though it isn't as fast as a lot of other destroyer setups, it has no problems tanking multiple frigates in the 5+ area. For cruisers, it's able to go fast enough to sweep in close and mess up the cruiser's tracking. Missiles are the only real threat, but I can tank those pretty well.
Of course, for PVP, this setup will be blown out of the water. -Dewar
Edit: Editted to clarify as requested in another thread ---

Currently fitting:
8xT2 Medium Pulse 1mn AB/Small Cap battery 2 Small armour rep 2, Energised Adaptive Nano Membrane 2, DMod/Caprelay and a MAPC
It makes things go Boom. Well. This thing will TRASH most other destroyers in straight out firefights at your optimal (10km with UV). It serves me well for level 2 missions most of the time -----------

Shin Taka: I'm new to the game so it may look obvious to you but how do you manage to fit 8 T2 medium pulse on a Coercer and all the remaining equipement ? It look like the powergrid and cpu usage is way above the Coercer capacity.

He will have lvl 5 Engineering + electronics and also lvl 4-5 in weapon upgrades (5% less cpu on H slot equipment)
he also has a MAPC (Micro Auxilary Power Core +10 or so pg)

10 millions+ worth of modules on a ship that is slow and little more resistant than a frig? I know we FA are supposed to be rich, but at that point it's almost a case of funding whoever is going to stumble upon you with a cruiser.

As TiO Knows, Full fitting skillz here
And while it is a 10mill Setup on a 1mill ship, Its not like I Take that fit anywhere dangerous, and when your corp makes T2 stuff, it gets quite a bit cheaper.
I tend to keep it for level 2 missions. -----------

I use mine for light-medium frigate and all manner of drone encounters. Additionally it's a budget model, so if you do run into an interceptor you won't bust your bank getting it back.
Hi: 8x Medium Pulse (I usually use named, but tech 1 are good if you wanna go budget) Med: Webbie (again I use a patterned stasis, but tech 1 is cheaper) Low: MAPC, 2xHeatsink, and a small armor rep
This tears through the majority of the low end drones (I've done both 2nd and 3rd level complexs in it) and most non-missle frigates. Again you can make them more powerful, but this is a decent and cheap setup if you don't want to put a lot of money on the line.
