Im not THAT new, but im new to BS ship setup. This is my ship of choice, dont ask why
Dom seems to be a less preferred ship so getting good fitting ideas from the "in the area" community is hard. So im comming out to the general community for help!!
Can anyone help me with a few setup ideas. Keep in mind i use rails but can change to whatevers best (tho i think rails/blasters are best for me)
im lookin for pvp ideas, npc rat hunting ideas, and lvl 4 agent ideas (me not tanking)

Dunno about the others, but heres a fun pvp loadout.
4 x Heavy nos, 2 x Medium blasters MWD, Web, Warp Scrambler, 2 x Cap Rechargers (if you have a tackler handy, use 3x cap rechargers and drop the warp scrambler). 2 x Large Armour Reps, 3 x Hardeners (Kin/Thrm/Exp), 2 x Reactor Controls.

Prolly my skills then. Last time I tried that I had eng5/elec5 Weapon Upgrades 4...

6 carbine 350mm 1 shield boosting amp, 1 Xlarge booster, 2 hardeners 1 slot for whatever you want (100mw AB, another hardener, tracking comp etc )
5 PDU II, 2 slots for whatever you want (dmg mods, cap relays, WC, another 2 PDU`s etc)

Heres my setup i use for lvl 3 mission atm with absolutely no problems even against the bonus stage to lvl 3 guristas extravaganza.
High: 6x Compressed Coil 250mm Railguns (Antimatter M - Yes, cruiser sized guns )
Mid: 5x 18% Cap Rechargers
Low: 1x Large Automated Repairer 1x Tech 2 Medium Repairer 3x Hardeners (Depending on your targets - 1 KIN/2 THER for guristas) 2x Cap Power relays
10 Ogres 10 Wasps 25 Hammerheads
With Energy Systems Operation lvl 4 and Management lvl 3 i can run everything on this setup forever (4600 cap/around 160 second recharge rate). I cant quite run two large repairers forever yet, hence going to upgrade to Cap Recharger 2's and two large accomodation repairers plus improving skills until i can run it all permanently, tied in with getting 6 Tech 2 250mm rails the dominix in the future, the Dom can become a mighty tanker :) A friend in Xetic can tank 2 BS + Cruiser support waves in 0.0 permanently and has had a wrecking shot of 395 with his guns.
The dominix is a mighty fine ship, many do not realise that and thats a shame Im in love with my baby

HI = heavy Nosferatus and Energy Neutralisers MID = MWD, Cap Injector, use your imagination LOW = Use your imagination!
LOTS OF REALLY BIG DRONES
particularly good vs Amarr. Run away from ravens.

use the drones
no cap = no tank on the other ship although try to avoid ravens as they dont need cap to shoot at you
and im not sure you can kill him before you run out of cap before he dies once his cap is gone

really thanks alot, im trying to make my dom into an underdogg here.
Im pooling everyones ideas together to make a build of my own. Currently im trying out 6 limited neutron blasters (med)
They arent to shabby on damage and i will be using drones alot anyways. The main idea behind it is the skys the limit on what mods i want to us because of how much grid/cpu i have open...
more comments please!!! If i get info info ill try and write an all purpose dom guide.

Rollins setup works extremly well for smaller fights I'm sure.
But it still seems like a half baked setup to me, because there are plenty of ships out there that do more damage without being completly filled with damage mods and depending on a cap booster to sustain their tank.
I mean, encounter a single ship with Nos or Energy Neutralizers in that thing and you're toast.

Slothe he is asking for setups not an opportunity for you to increase you ego. So why not tell him your setup as this is what he is looking for.
I dont fly Dom much but i got owned by one which used 6 nos and pilot had skit hot drone skills so thats the style i would go for if you have the skills ofcourse

just keep in mind that the dominix has 12 combined low and mid slots, the only other tech 1 BS that does that is the scorp and the scorp lacks in firepower, which the dominix makes up with it's drone bay.

That doesn't help the Dominix at all, because you can't fit it for armor tanking without grid upgrades, and if you fit it for shield tanking the 5 medslots are gone...

I have tried that dual-250 + damage mods setup out a few times now - it really does the trick if you need to break a big tank.
I have tested it against a couple of tanked Ravens, and they could not take the damage of guns + 13 drones. They ran out of shields well before they ran out of cap. -- jamesw Rubra Libertas Militia

6 Nos's & drones doesnt seem like a bad idea, but...what about smart bombs =x
i would have to wait for them to be dry before i start attacking. During that time i mightb e trying to tank him instead. Since he wont have to use tanks because i wont be shooting he can use his little cap to fire at me. How long before i find out if he is dry or not ^.^
i like to think of it as...i wanna find out if i can take him or not early in teh fight...i dunno..

as you have decent cpu you could go totally crazy on the dom
and really have fun with you setup
use the meds for EW and and armor tank the lows + RCU's
then fill up highs with nosses as big as you can fit them to run the tank
drones do the dmg but you should be able to tank with a med armor rep just in case something doesnt get jammed or damped

nnnooo, i meant what if the enemy has smartbombs. I mean it would make sense if you seen a dom come at you with 6 nos's that it would be using its drones to kill you. Obviously, if you cant get away, then your only chance is to save what you have...to kill the drones. Then you have a draw.

Smartbombs guzzle cap. You run out, and the Domi pops out another wave. You lose.

Grid upgrades? Dominix is probably second best armour tank in game after Apoc. 2 repairers, 3 hardeners, and fill rest of mids-lows with cap rechargers and cap relays. With decent modules it can tank any 3 BS spawn forever. No grid for BS-sized guns left? Well, just fit 6 best cruiser guns, your main weapon are drones anyway.

A note/question for you cap nerds out there: the L peroxide capacitor battery provides a 12% boost to capacitor storage on a dominix. At what point is using one of these more valuable than using combined cap rechargers and relays, if 250 grid isn't a concern?
