It would need enough CPU for the probe launcher, MWD, web scrambler, able to tank enough damage for others to warp in; and enough cargo space for the probes themselves. Any suggestions?

Edited by: ariola on 09/01/2005 21:38:33 I think your best bet is to use scan probes with a Covert Ops frig with covert ops cloak.. When you get a fix on your target, you can warp in cloaked, and then have your posse gang warp to you.
Otherwise, when you finally get a fix on your target and warp-in at the usual distance of something like 50km - 100km, your target will just warp away when (s)he sees you.

Buzzard Covert Ops, Has 5 Midslots and large amount of base CPU. and you can warp to someone after your probes find them and let your corp mates warp to you and your newly found targets. __________________________________________

probe launcher, 2x Auto Cannon mwd, web, 7.5k scramble 3x cpu
not exactly perfect but faster and more capable than u can make any other standard frig & it's cheap as chips

problem with covops ships and probes is:
- only buzzard (and gallente one with crapload of cpu's in lows) can fit both cloak and probe launcher.
- probes can be seen on scanner. this combined with the long time it takes to scan down someone results in eventually catching only abandoned ships, afkers or some really really stupid people. which you could as well do without probes.

I've been thinking most tier 1 crusiers would fit the bill. The Probe launcher is a utility module, requiring no launcher, and losing a tier 1 crusier won't be a problem.

as finding many safe,, i can say, use a covert ops ship. if you cant fly one use a grifin, its got plenty of cpu, (rather slow) but it is effective, with plenty of mid slots,
the problem with covert ops is there warp speed of 13.5 au a second, make a safe of your own, eject from the ship and make the 3au bm's in your pod, pls remember you ship is in space and can get nicked, so move it every 10 minutes and you will be fine,
and dont forget, traingulate, < speeling,

I didnt think you could make SS bm's in a pod as no cargo bay, is it true that pod bookmarking works? -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Despite having a cargo bay of 0.0m¦ you can drag bookmarks to your pod's cargo bay and jettison them if you want, as they also don't take any volume. Or you could just leave them in p&p.

Truly funny. Perhaps someone will start a "Ppl caught by probes non-afk" or something...

Why would you need to jettisson anything to make an SS again ? Just curious. Ive never jetted anything when creating BMs. Waste of time imho. |

No experience, but wouldn't it be possible to just bring the probe launcher only online when using it and keep it offline the rest of the time?

I've no idea, but he asked so... :s
At the time I assumed he was talking about jetting bookmarks to give to someone else for some reason, but that doesn't really make a lot of sense.
