Does this work for multiple accounts? Because I might want to train up capital ship construction on one and fighter bombers on the other

Might be a good idea for all those fapping over the 5mil SP to keep in mind that the next mirror will wipe that out again :P Just sayin'. ---

For a couple minutes of work (besides the 45 min to download the new patch ) Its worth it.

Reporting for duty....AWU 5 and some ship command skills in que set to finish Saturday.
so, for characters on the same account with learning skills, the reimbursement goes to that specific character still right? So does that mean to apply skill points on your alts (on the same account)you have to pause your main accounts training?

So I logged into SiSi, queued up four days of skills, but I don't see a second folder for Eve Singularity under the CCP folder. I also don't have my new ship or the same wallet size on Singularity. Will the extra 5mil SP be applied no matter what server I am on? I am fairly new to the EVE universe and may be missing something rather simple. Thanks!

There's no new patch, it's a direct copy of your TQ folder you need to hop on. ---

Edited by: Vizdak on 01/12/2010 19:29:55 Ok, so I reread this thread and realized that the Singularity changes don't effect Tranquility. However, do the 5mil sp go to the Tranquility server for our assistance in testing on the Singularity server? I've queued up skills either way, but was just curious. Thanks again guys!
EDIT: Also curious about the redeeming process :-)

Logged in and qued. Quick question. how much skill divergence between SiSi and Tranquility is there possible? Never logged into SiSi so I do not know how often the server is updated with Tranquility.
Thanks in advance for enlightening me.

The 5 million bonus SP is only for Singularity, to allow you to try new things on Singularity.

Edited by: Aidan Patrick on 01/12/2010 20:35:39 Awesome reward.. but unforutnately I am a bit miffed about one thing. Yes, it's my fault.. but let me explain.
Initially when I read the dev blog stating the 5 million SP reward I shouted out with glee, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to All! I got so excited I completely overlooked the server name "Singularity". As you can imagine I was very dissapointed and sad when I read into it a little more.
All in all it kinda sucks that theres no reward for this on the live server, though for the amount of work it probrably isn't warranted.
Now when mirroring these servers we lose rewards we get for helping mass test. This is not a good thing in my opinion and the fact that that reward isn't something I get to keep.. Makes me not want to test. I'm still going to though because I love CCP and I love EVE, but why don't you guys do this...?
Make a script or program that can be ran after each re-mirror of the server. That script does one simple task.. It just adds mass test SP awards to the mappable SP pool on a character. You basically just keep a spreadsheet or database with a list of characters and their current reward pool. Each time they participate and get a new reward you just add the new SP amount to the already existing pool. Then, each time the server is re-mirrored everyone gets their rewards back.
This has several pros and only one con. Let me elaborate!
PROS
- Testers Actually Feel Rewarded
- Promotes return of testers for more mass test events
- Once implimented, simple to "Inject Skillpoints" over again. ;)
- Allows return testers to properly test skill dependent features even if they do not already have the skills required. They just use their reward pool and apply it to the features needing to be tested.
CONS
The implimentation methods I could think of were these...
- Redeem Items, afterall a CCP blog post referred to skillpoints as items
- Post re-mirror script
Anyways it's obviously not a huge concern, but something like this needs to be a little more clear on where the rewards are going (Calling the test server Sisi AND Singularity can be misleading at times) and a little bit more longevity on rewards would be nice.

I have a question CCP. Why did you change the prices of everything on sisi to ridiculous amounts? It's makes testing things very difficult
On a side note, I have my skill set

Let's get real. The only way removing these skills is a "massive engineering challenge" or a "giant task" is if your coders or QA department are incompetent. And since we know all about your QA department, you're really casting your programmers in a bad light here. |

The 100 isk markets were reseeded incorrectly in the last mirror, but they have since manually gone back and reseeded FD-MLJ with the 100isk items.
As for my personal test, I'm training a couple skills as normal on my two account, but I have 4 characters (two on each account) that have learning skills. It'll be interesting to see if all characters get the skill points they're supposed to.
And to try and throw-in another monkey wrench - my main on SiSi still has 100k skill points left over from Tyrannis. Although he's spent them on TQ recently, I'm keeping them on my SiSi version to see if it'll cause any complications :)

I just had another thought - people that are currently training learning skills could possibly end-up with the incorrect number of skillpoints returned to them. The overall skill point value of the character no-longer changes automatically until a skill is finished training (or if the Queue is paused). I think I'll adjust one of my character's skill training now to test that.
BTW, I'm also curious on how my main character's overall skill training will be affected. He's had all learning skills to Level 5 for years now (minus Charisma), along with +5 Implants. He'll be in that small minority of players that will actually loose a tiny amount off of his attributes (0.3 I believe). While it's a small bummer to loose any points from your attributes, the benefit of getting back all of the points from the learning skills makes-up for it). --- If you've read something I posted and want to contact me, EVE-Mail me, or contact me via EVE Gate. |

I guess the "15 minutes to spare" doesn't include the speedy 90 minute download of the "incremental" client update that weighs in at 2.6 GB. |

For all your rudeness you're doing it so incredibly wrong, I cannot help but laugh my head off.
http://games.chruker.dk/eve_online/server_status.php
For all of you who have ever wanted to get 'that specific patch' from one version to another for either TQ or SISI, have a go at that page. It's also a great way to check if the servers are up and what the usercounts are at any given time without having to relog.
As for how much of a task this is, I suggest you go read up on databases and how they work and tie into real-time clock driven programs; then I suggest you ponder for a moment the massive amount of database entries that have to be modified, keeping in mind that any given account can have up to 3 characters on it that may have learning skills trained on them and that all accounts, even those that have not been active since 2003, need to have this done to them. ---
