Originally by: Mina O'Bane this is garbage, of all the cities in texas that you choose, none of them are dallas, houston, or austin, all of it is crap tiny redneck cities.
Couldn't agree more. You'd get more bang for your buck in the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex (cities of Dallas, Plano, Addison, Carrolton, Farmers Branch, Fort Worth) than you're ever going to get in the little podunk cities listed for Texas.
Either way I'm still excited and will likely be traveling to whicever theater I decide is closer to me. Now it's time to go poke my CEO and explain to him in an excited girly voice using a chipmunk accelerator that we need to do a road trip for this.
Edit I looked through the list again and the only city in Texas I see any remote possibility of a response worth the investment of your icelandic ISK is Frisco.. Will update with some suggested theaters soon.
The theaters that should have the best response in terms of density of nerds in the north dallas suburban area will likely be the Stonebriar mall location in Frisco (listed), and Cinemark Legacy on north central expressway in Plano. (not listed). the cinemark theater in allen has always had a barren parking lot when I drive past it, certainly not packed like cinemark legacy, and stonebriar. One more good bet would be the Cinemark Tinseltown on the North Dallas Tollway in Plano. (again, not listed).
and as for these theaters being in "tiny redneck cities", none of which being Dallas, Houston, or Austin, check your map, man. considering the small number of theaters even showing this, and further considering that some states are omitted completely, im pretty sure the suburbs of Dallas, and Houston count. What more do you want? For it to be right next door?
Cinemark Allen 15 in Allen - never seen this one busy, but not a redneck city, will be bypassed to go to stonebriar I think (right down the road - 5-10 minutes tops)
Movies 14 in McKinney - Far north Dallas suburb, with lots of money - not a redneck town but yeah, out of the way
Stonebriar 24 with IMAX in Frisco - The biggest mall in the north dallas area
Tinseltown Movies 17 in grapevine - In Between Dallas and Fort Worth
Cinemark 13 Cypress in Cypress - Map says northwestern Houston suburb
Cinemark 19 in Katy - west houston suburb Cinemark at Market Street in Spring - north houston suburb Katy Mills 20 in Katy - west houston suburb
links to the two theaters in Plano that I suggested Cinemark Legacy Cinemark Tinseltown West Plano
Yea, I'm not getting the complaints here (atleast for dallas). 4 of those theaters are in the DFW area... But like I said previously, I dont think movies 14 was such a great choice, because alot of people from Mckinney go to the much nicer theater in Allen which sits right on the city limit with Mckinney; especially for a big movie like tron.

Edit: I feel like I'm advertising, but... I only really said negative things about the products I mentioned. :D

Come to suburban Maryland some time and you will see that statement is false. Areas of Montgomery County like Silver Spring and Bethesda have a higher population density than DC proper.
@CCP - Don't know if the advertising agency told you - Gaithersburg market is upper-middle class families (read middle-aged guys and their teenage sons) and not yuppies (read 23-33), but that could be who you're going for. Bowie one is a bit of an odd choice though, people in Prince George's county generally can't afford a subscription.

For Massachusetts, I see these theaters are small and suburbial.
LOTS OF PEOPLE go to the REGAL Fenway in Boston and AMC Boston Common also in Boston (Downtown). If you want to advertise....that is where the college students are, and your best customers. These theaters are ALWAYS packed.

Wow!! this is amazing. Thank you very much for organising this. While i know the idea is to get more people playing eve, i understand what a big moment this is for all current Players.
I am in the UK, so sadly will not be able to see this, however, i know that you would have tried your very best to get this trailer in as many venues as possible.
I guess i'll just have to wait for my 1st fanfest to see eve on the big screen. Can't afford the flight, so am going to SAIL to iceland! Should be fun, if not a bit cold.
Fly safe Triton Dione
Mail me ingame if ya need another crew member. I have some RYA stuffs and I can offer 7 years of eve tales to help pass the time. I can make it to any UK port and is not axe murderer.
I would love to join aswell. No sailing experience, but on the other hand Im not an axe murderer either.
Hello All
This seems to have stired up a bit of interest, Not my Kind thanks to CCP but my crazy attempt to Sail to Iceland.
Details are as yet unclear, as i need to make sure that 1st it is do-able (safely) and second that it can be done in a way that does not ruin my experiance of fanfest. no one wants to spend fan fest recovering from Hypothermia.
If you are interested in this stupid endeavour mail me ingame outlining your sailing experience. This is not for the faint hearted, the North Atlantic in is quite unforgiving.

Bowie and Gaithersburg just aren't worth going to for a trailer I've essentially already seen, anyway. (as awesome as it might be to see it on a big screen, I have no way to guarantee the quality of their said 'big screens' ... Whereas if I went to the AMC and saw TRON: Legacy in their iMAX... Now THAT would be a way to watch an EVE trailer)

Edited by: Mattias Kerensky on 15/12/2010 14:45:46 WOOOT, the ones in Texas aren't too far for me to drive. (course, here in Texas a 3-4 hour drive is nothing, tis a big state) And for those idjits complaining that the theaters aren't in DFW...Frisco's in DFW, and so is McKinney, at least from the perspective of someone who lives 140 miles away. And if I can drive that far, you can get your pampered big city butts in a car and do the same. Buy a map, a gps, or download Google Earth. Nubs.

Edited by: Urgg Boolean on 15/12/2010 18:33:20 SF Bay Area dweller here. I see Blackhawk in the city listings. Just so you know, that's where all the rich boiz live. I think if I tried to go the Blackhawk theater, I'd be arrested for simply looking like I can't afford to live there. Now, rich people can certainly pay subscription fees, but in Blackhawk, you are not hitting the masses, for sure.
There is an excellent theater in Martinez CA (the county seat) that is frequented by real people, real gamers, real families, without the need to carry a Glock (Richmond or Oakland) or to drive a car that requires investment capital to own (Blackhawk) ...
