I wasn't sure which forum would be best for this, so after 20 minutes of indecision I plumped for this one.
Jon Hallur has done an excellent job with the music of EVE, some of which is genuinely memorable and definately helps enhance the atmosphere of EVE. Even those of us who largely play with the music muted (for whatever reason) will have a handful of tracks that they enjoy.
My most favourite track of all time is "Below the Asteroids", I've always envisioned myself dancing to this song. The problem was ù it wasn't made for dancefloor. I was planning to do this remix for years but several tries I've done before didn't satisfy myself and didn't carry the feel of the song the way I wanted it to.
Now I think I've nailed it. I'm not completely happy with it but I've road-tested this remix in my DJ sets without announcing what song it was, and it blasted the dancefloor!
So here it is: Jon Hallur ù Below the Asteroids (HMage Radio Remix)
I've also done a dancefloor friendly version for DJ's: Jon Hallur ù Below the Asteroids (HMage Club Mix)

This is one of my favorite tracks. You have done it so much justice. Very well done on both mixes. --

Thanks for that mix. I love EVE Music, but after 6 years it gets very redundant and even repulsive. I wish they added a lot more songs per expansion than they are at the current rate.

Very well done! Would love to hear this extremely loud with lots of flashing lights.
This track and "I Saw Your Ship" most remind me of the game. Would love to hear some OOG versions of some of the mission/combat music as well.

Very. Nice.
Always nice to see someone able to adapt a beautiful melody like this for the dancefloor without wrecking it (no cheese for me, thanks). RealX's own version from fanfest 2006 was nice, but I have to say that this is probably better and appeals to a larger crowd. Keep up the good work!

Soundcloud needs a way to stick something on autorepeat.
I like the club mix best. This track is begging for vocals.

Sounds good.
If I had to make a criticism it would be that there is imo too much repetition - that's mainly I guess because the source is quite repetitive. It would've been better if you had added a bit more to it to break it up, like e.g. this remix. In that remix adding Aura and the completely new material at 3:57 onwards etc breaks up the repetition nicely.

Yes, that kind of repetition is part of the genre. I've heard that remix, it's not danceable in my opinion. And by 3:57, my radio mix is over. Have you heard the club mix? It has a breakdown.

I wish I knew how to do this kind of stuff. I've dabbled in set mixing with different tracks and stuff, but never creating a new track like this.

Edited by: Triple Entendre on 28/12/2010 02:58:41 Okay, yeah. These are frankly brilliant. Great work. Reminds me I should get to work on my Massive Attack-influenced mix, too.
I have to ask, though, is there an Assemblage 23 influence here at all? This can only be good.

Very nice, I like it.
I think I like the radio version more than the club one, but I have to give both another listen through some proper hardware.
As for the correct section of the forum to post to, it would probably have to be "My EVE" that has the description "Discuss the EVElopedia and share your EVE videos, guides, resources, songs, jokes and more!". -
