That worked out pretty well, didn't it? Almost as if can-flipping didn't become the new FOTM hi-sec griefing... almost...
wonder what would happen if salvaging went the way of can flagging.

If this is true why are unable to use a tractor beam on an empty wreck that you did not create and why do you get a GCC in high/low sec if you destroy an empty wreck that does not belong to you or your corp?

Working as intended.
Why is the loot considered mine than? I killed the ship, which created the wreck. It only exists because of me. If the loot is mine, so should be the salvage. You can't split it in half and call it a different thing, salvage is still loot, it's just harder to extract from the wreck.

Originally by: Xzar Fyrarr Honestly. If Salvage made salvage theifs flashy red, it would make no difference.
But, hypothetically, if it did make us flashy red, assuming you shoot the person, you'd either A) Dock up for 15 minutes. B) Dock and whine in local for 15 minutes. C) Get Killed by the person you shot. D) Get killed and then whine on the forums about how it should be nerfed.
Or. E) All of the above.
Does making someone Red Flashy make you feel better?
or E) Insta pop the ninja salvagers catalyst, causing him slight grief, and then undock. Have a friend scout out the mission in a cloaky ship (or go back with my covops tengu) see what kind of ship he brought back to wtfpwn my pve fit ship (lol), if he's got serious firepower or RR backup, I just wait it out.
Also, if salvaging was changed like this, I would bring along a warp scrambler to pop his 60 + mil noctis, just in case anyone thought they were in no danger because pve ships aren't supposed to have warp scramblers are they. ;)
Yeah.. CCP, please do this. Please.

The reason you can not tractor another persons wreck is because of the loot it contains. Not the salvage that could be contained inside.
The GMs and Devs have all decided this is the rule. Live with it or post in Assembly Hall.
Stop whining.
You can't tractor a wreck that has no loot. Logical failure.
You cannot claim that the loot is mine, when the salvage is from the same wreckage, salvage is merely looting the ship itself. It's harder than looting modules, but again, if you claim the loot is mine, so should the salvage. It's simply logical. If CCP still does not want to change it, fine. Just don't pretend there is any logic behind it, because that ****es me off.
No logic behind it? It's a ****ing spaceship game on the internet. How much logic is there supposed to be? /vag

As a mission bear. I must say that this cracked me the f*ck up! I mean get over it will ya...salvage is free for all........your choices are 1)salvage faster, 2)blow it up 3) run to forums and cry like a baby! Now will you please STFU already about salvage! For frak's sake, it took millions of years of evolution for that brain to get inside your skull, would it kill you to actually USE the damned thing?

LOL! Even mission-runners are tired of this continual crap. Go run your missions Necrron, and shut it. It isn't going to change, and it shouldn't. Of course, I would love CCP if they did change it, I'd love toasting your mission-running butt.

"Salvage"
Do you shout at homeless people for stealing rubbish from your bin?
Its SALVAGE, its a WRECK.
Infact people dont steal your SALVAGE, they use tools on the wrecks of ships to recover/save goods.
These goods infact are not yours, they are the person whom the ship belong to.
So technically its the NPCs that should be ****ed off

Create an alt, train ORE Industrial on it, get a noctis. Dual-box and salvage while you mission.
Besides, when you get to the point where salvaging gives you some good money, it's no longer profitable. So just do your missions, collect the bounties, rinse and repeat. Forget about salvaging with the same account. ____________

Just because it's science fiction doesn't mean logic, you know, making sense can't be a part of it. This applies to TV shows as well. But, discussing this, all I want is for some consistency.
If you are going to claim that salvage does not belong to me, well, that's fine. However, you can't do a quick 180 and then say that loot does belong to me. Both come from the same wreck that only exists because I created it. The only difference is that salvage requires a special module to extract.
So, either make loot, that is undamaged modules and other items that don't require a specific skill//module to extract from the wreck, belong to no one. Or, make salvage belong to the person who destroyed the ship and created the wreck.
You can't have one or the other. It doesn't make sense, and yes, making sense even in a sci-fi game is important if you ask me.

Since T1 laser crystals never wear out, if you are paying for ammo, you do so voluntarily. So, solve your own problem, switch to lasers.
A good rule of thumb in EVE, if it's not in your hanger bay, it belongs to whoever is sufficiently motivated to take it. That could be you, or it could be anyone.

Sorry, the loot does not belong to you. It belongs to the corp of the ship you destroyed. If that happens to be a player corp, expect the corpmates of the person whose ship you destroyed to come after you.
Just because NPC corps do not display this behavior does not make the loot yours, you are still stealing from the corp.

If you're running high level missions you should have no problem paying a noob to salvage your mission for a percentage cut or a reasonable flat fee. A noob with a month or two under their belt can fly a decent salvage ship.
CCP says lone wolves will have a harder time... this is just one of the ways.

Please oh, PLEEEEEAAAAASSSSSEEEEEE CCP make salvage give agro! Make it so fast and now!
Sometimes when I warp on a missioner, I have to move more than 20km away to loot a wreck, so that I can actually become flashy, and so that he can finally shot at me and let the fun begin.
If salvage would trigger agro, I would save a ton of time just moving just to steal some crappy loot from a small wreck 20+km off my entry point.
Make Ninja Griefers life easier and make salvage triger aggro. That will make us all (missioneers and ninjas) waaaaaaayyyyy happier. Then the tears would be on the shps they lost and not on the salvage they did not get.
Please CCP, PLLLLLLEEEEEAAAAASSSSEEEEE make salvage aggro!

i can never understand why people whine over salvage. yse i know salvage can give nice cash but still. it's not like you run into the ninjas all the time. for your a good mission runner, then you would be soloing level 4 missions (and some level 3s) where you have a fair amount of bSs with over 1 mil bounties. you lose salvage but you still get drops for you to sell. i had a ******ed amount of mission drops and reprocessed them (not didn't feel like selling them one by one lol) and ended yp with a considerable amount of cash. whats more there are ways to deal with this.
1. stop being a hog. get a pal to tag along with you and salvage.
2. more often than not ships have a few high slots where most would throw in millise launcher our nuets (for pvp) instead of those throw a savager and a tractor beam on (or 2 salvagers if your in a fast ship) and salvage as you fight.
3. get a t2 BS i'm told that the golem is one of the best for ratting/mission-running. not sure how true it is.
4. when you see someone warp into your mission area and start messing with your wrecks just warp away and see if the rats would kill him. hardly ever works tho.
5.do what i do on occasion. open a private chat to the guy and yell "THAT'S RIGHT DUDE KEEP CONTRBUTING TO THE REDUCTION OF LAG VIA THE DISPOSAL OF LAG INDUCING MATERIALS FLOATING IN SPACE!!!!!" as i say this i abandon all wrecks and let them have a field day:P
honestly your crying over nothing. if your getting hit by ninja too offen then you picked a bad place to run missions. the more crowded the place, the more likely it is to run into ninjas. one last thing. above all else try not to let the ninja have the satisfaction of knowing he got under your skin. if you truly feel THAT bad about sallvage then don't complete the mission what till after DT when the ships respawn and try again.

Yes, they can choose to do whatever they want in the game. I'm merely pointing out the logical pitfall in it. If they choose to keep it as it is, well, that's in their hands. I just dislike when people try to justify something using "logic" that doesn't make sense.
Want to make sense? Either make loot and salvage free for all, or make it belong to the individual that destroyed the ship. Don't split it up.
Or, you can keep it as is, just don't pretend it makes sense. Just say it's for "game balance" or whatever.
