I want to wish a happy new year and a deep thank you to all my favorite bot trader
1st place: ORANGEFLOUNDER in 2010 at least 10 billion ISK of earnings for me.
he is the only one who is still fighting against me to find a script which is more intelligent than a real person who is using strategies against ALL methods of scripts.
just a tip: forget it: you will never win this game.
2nd place: ORACLEOFJITA the short run winning game. mostly 100mio in a couple of hours every turn.
I hope you will be in the game also in year 2011. also a couple of billion ISK earned with your "cleverness" of using scripts.
3rd place: INFINARY, SEVENCOIL and TOBIANA
the standard macro trader. easy to earn per turn between 50 to 100mio ISK.
in my eyes a single real person.
ALL other places: some additional noob bot trader
no real win but always hit there pocket.
PS: my win is always the loss of the bot trader.
PS1: unfortunately CCP has no real way to find them. it take me 1 hour to find a bot trader. just for your information.
PS2: unfortunately all or nearly 100% of the real trader in jita doesen't know how to find and fight against bot trader.
PS3: don't ask me how it is working. that is may secret. be clecer find them and make money with them.

one example from today
ORANGEFLOUNDER
in my transaction log
BUY:
25 x 3.259.999,99 25 x 3.349.999,99 24 x 3.329.999.99
SELL:
22 x 3.600.000,01 25 x 3.540.000,01 23 x 3.500.000.01
currently no high range. but this is also working with 500K, 1000K and more difference between BUY and SELL.
every day, again and again.
a real trader will never go again into this market after the 3rd or 4th attempt.

of course. and much less time you need for trading.
but as long as these bots are coming up again into the market you have to live with them and to make profit on the special way.

Edited by: OrangeFlounder on 01/01/2011 20:18:34 I'm glad you think so highly of me.
I don't have time to track how much I pay for each item. I keep my 300 orders in use and sometimes take a loss. On any given item I trade I make a net profit, so I guess it just slipped through the cracks.
I assume you're referring to 'arbalest' heavy missile launcher I. Somehow even with you pushing me around I made a hundred mil on them in december. I guess you're not pushing hard enough Leo.
Also for you to consider my primary function in m4 is turning over the goods I get from other regions. Jita buy/sell is secondary to me.
Thanks for the <3
I like how you're so sure I'm a bot for a year but tonight is the first time you've ever bothered to send me a chat invite.

I know exactly how you are working.
I only say: to change your 300 orders frequently you don't do it 100% manually. not more not less.
I keep an eye on you. just to make sure I can talk to you whenever you are changing your order

My big trick has always been using RDP to check orders from my iPhone. This is both why I can check so frequently and why I fail at tracking orders.
Using one of my other characters I've long since advocated always being logged in (because it frustrates traders), but I also am not one to keep my trading methods all too secret (MD is a very small minority of traders anyway). Next time before you make accusations against me please talk to me first. CCP tends to temporarily ban your account while they "investigate", and while when this happened in the past I did get found innocent (still here) it still kept me out of the game for three weeks. Because of that I'm much more open to talking to people that accuse me of things.
Edit: I almost forget, not trying to be rude... HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU TOO

OrangeFlounder evemailed me in game and his method makes sense. I'm intrigued to know what leocaldari's 'evidence' is for considering this a bot.
My initial instinct is that OrangeFlounder and Leocaldari are actually following a mutually harmonious trading practise, yielding profits for both of them. But the 'method' of cooperation is competition, and the 'payment' of the cooperation is the profits they gain through this competition.
Only possible suggestion I can come up with is to maybe work together - it won't increase your profits, but it may lower the workload involved.

on request (petition) of some of my dear competitors all my accounts were banned for more than a month sometime last year.
my online behavior might have been susopicious and i work hard to frustrate as many competitors as i can but there was always enough evidence, that i am a real person. after a month of arselicking and escalating they withdrew the ban and now i petitioned to have a note on this char with a link to the result of the old case. i also changed my online behavior and trading methods. so there are trading bots out there and the way to fight them is definitely not 0.01 ing. u cant win that against a 23,5/7 bot.

Getting yourself banned by creating too many false petitions?
Sounds like a great strategy

Well the truth is that we are all wearing the shackles of a false value system. Who gets to determine that bots are immoral anyway? It's ironic that we are all using computerised technology to play a game, but have banned computerised technology from making our lives easier in playing that game. Even at the forefront of scientific knolwedge, man remains intellectually stunted by narrow-minded dogma. We punish those who innovate and act logically, because the herd morality dictates it.

If you think using bots is 'logical' then the next step to that would be everyone using them. As this is a game, intended for fun, and supposed to contain a player driven market element, it's CCPs job to protect it's game from exploitation and to keep the game moving forward, not stagnating. It has nothing to do with "herd mentality" or 'intellectually stunting humanity' or some such, it's entirely to do with making the game work as a game.

In an international online community, why would you "guess it's an English thing?"

Its sort of like how in the Matrix things had to be ****ty because humans rejected a perfect world.
The fun of this game and the value of it is in the work we must do to earn what we have. If all ships and modules were free there would be minimal fun to PvP or PvE. We measure our enjoyment by the sacrifices we make to attain it.

Get over it leo and do what you do best: no-lifing 0.01 isking 23/7. It's what you're good at. Whining about other players who do the same won't get you much sympathy...

I've always thought this a bit ironic as well. In a game involving advanced technology, we're not permitted to use advanced technology to play the game.
