Hi,
I've been working on a new wormhole intel gathering site for a little while, and figured I'd let other people have a play to get comments and criticisms. I should stress that this isn't meant to replace any of the big hitters - siggy, eveeye, wormnav, etc - it's very early days in its development.
The site can be accessed at: http://wormhol.es
The main objective of the site was that I wanted something that I could hit one button when I jump into a wormhole and have a good indication of whats going on and what has gone on there, without having to go to several sites.
The reason I'm posting really is to get some feedback on what other info I could pool to gather intel, other features, etc. I'd also like it if people test it on wormholes that they know who the occupants are and let me know if it got it right or not - this will enable me to tweak the algorithm. Obviously you can be as vague as you like - no data is recorded for queries, only data that is scraped from Eve-Kill and Dotlan is cached.
Things to note: - The search box can spaz out a bit if you type too quickly, this is an issue with the jQuery autocomplete plugin (it happens on Dotlan too) and is something I'm aware of. - None of the pilot, corp, alliance clickable links do anything at the moment other than show the internal ID number. - Collapsible panels is on the TODO list - Copy & Paste links for a given system (so you can paste them easily in chat) is also on TODO - Trusting the site currently just enables the "refresh" button so you can quickly check somewhere you've jumped into. |

Good stuff but would it not make more sense to offer an reverse search and be able to search a corp/alliance cos when I jump into a system I hit d-scan and check poco`s and know 5secs later who lives there anyway ? |

Someone else suggested that too.. how would you imagine searching for a corp/alliance? i.e. what information would it return? Where they were last active? Unless you know how to get to them (I guess stuff like wormnav et al come in useful there) then how would you make use of that info?
Also - I don't really want to create a site that people don't want to use for fear of giving away intel... that thought is in the back of my mind. |

Some people put POCOs up on an alt corp or leave the interbus ones up so it doesn't always give you the info you want.

I like it, very nice job. I also like how you data mine for intel. Just a small tip, for the Dotlan section remove the Jumps counter. The API data is no longer available for jumps in w-space, dotlan keeps it for k-space and seeing how your tool is a w-space intel tool. |

Done. You can also get information on k-space systems though it's less interesting :)
I should point out that I am trying to identify and fix errors as people are encountering, and I'm still working on improvements for the site so spurious errors might be encountered. :| |

Very Very nice. I like knowing all I can before raiding our connecting holes. If there is an active corp there I try to leave the hole alone and roll it out of respect for the holders of that system. Great Job keep it up ! |

Quite an impressive tool; the interface is extremely clean.
Minor suggestion: a way to drop systems from the page listing would be nice.
Question: will this be the only interface to the data-mining function, or did you plan on exposing that via an API (for use alongside signature tracking tools)?
EDIT:
Bug report: http://wormhol.es/sys/J133030 is listed as a C1 with a C2 static, which is wrong. This hole is a C1 with a LS (J244) static as per both WormNav and the Project Atlas listing. |

Can you add a clickable link to the PI output of the WH, i don't want it all listed for every hole straight up but if a hole is empty able to quickly see if its worth the bother to sell. Much like wormnav does. |

Hadn't thought about providing an API, but it's something I'll look into. I need to work on some refinements to the algorithm first, a lot of the variables that are used for "confidence" are ones I just came up with as a guesstimate.
Have fixed the anomalous static - there might be a few of those in the database.

Much like wormnav does. You can click on the locus ID to see a list of planets and their types for a given system. I trust that's what you mean? |

Couple of things fixed this morning:
- Systems with spaces in their name were seriously b0rking the interface - had never really run many tests with non-wormholes (which don't have spaces in) so missed that one. Should be fixed now.
- Dotlan data is now cached for a short time, previously it was scraping data every time a system was queried.
- A few people seemed to be trying to link to http://wormhol.es/SYSTEM rather than http://wormhol.es/sys/SYSTEM - so I've set up a rewrite rule for both conditions
More to come... :) |

Yeah i saw that but what i meant was possible PI products so without thinking i can just click and go yep can make all POS fuels or it can make a few P4 or all P4 items. I am a little lazy like that But not a big deal at all, the site is now my new go to without that. |

I did originally have it so the website automatically loaded info for the system where you are when you first open it, but disabled it for the moment. Likewise the website doesn't currently keep checking to see where you are to update the location. As a rule I'm not a big fan of websites just taking control away from people but i could probably add a checkbox or something to automatically update? |
