I have one simple request. Do not make everyone with female characters make characters as the above. That is an old, ugly man in drag, that is not a female. Again, left portrait is female. Right portrait is hideous. I honestly haven't seen any more images that are much better in the department of hideous man-in-drag looking female (no insults to transvestites intended, as I mean the man himself is already ugly, and now it's rather emphasized in drag).
Anywho, make the women look like women plz, ccp. Thank you.

Honestly people having been making some pretty fugly looking females with the creator. Makes me feel better because I'll feel like I'll have the only decent looking avatar in the game.

It's because the person who did the new portrait chose many male/non-feminine features for the avatar or he just didn't know what makes a woman look like a woman.

I would agree, if this was the only absolutely frightening looking female character I've seen...
Or if I had seen any attractive female characters at all...

I was under the impression the whole point of that character was to create someone who's, well, ugly. The strong jaw, sunken-in cheeks, the indifferent expression... yeah, not exactly what people would consider attractive in any case. And that's the point. Right?
It's not like it's very hard to create an attractive-looking female. But it's also boring, depending on who you ask...

Spent ages looking for the video again, but alas cannot find it. There was a video of someone using the character creator to make a (very hot) female avatar. Looked kinda suicide girl ish with orange/black hair and makeup.

Perhaps a tutorial should be included with the character creator? I'm sure fairness demands letting people create ugly women, but since it's a lot easier to screw the portrait than to make it likable (the old editor: look at my girl, i tried REALLY hard to make her less shiny and failed miserably) something like a detailed guide would be great to have.
Or maybe a direct link to the already great guides found out there. Linkage

It might actually be a good test to find people who are repressing homosexual desires.

Em...this just struck me. Having so much power to sculpt a face, has anyone tried copying his own face on the creator? would LOVE to see some results.
I have a feeling this could become a whole new hobby in EVE, drawing people's faces for their avatars...for the right amount of isk ;)

I guess the beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I wonder how many think the following are not attractive vs. good looking?
Here's a couple that I thought were pleasing looking at least for me. The latter especially is the type for me, the first was a recreation of another users avatar:
(Just made the Deteis with the newest creator which doesn't allow to use the portrait mode, blank screen)

Is there supposed to be any thinking behind this dumb comment? Or did you just have a strong unconscious desire to talk about repressed homosexuality?

From a psychological standpoint i find it interesting it made you angry. Why is that?
My reasoning is that someone who is attracted to male features, but is in denial about it, will add those features to a female he is trying to make attractive.

Because everyone likes staring in the bland eyes of an old, scarred, drugged-out pirate thug when they look at their character screen.
That's like looking down on people in WoW for choosing an elf girl because they hate staring at the ass of an orc for most of their gaming experience.

who even looks at their avatar? i have that collapsed on my char sheet. biggest image of my avatar i see is in chat windows.
and really, if you're making a female character in a video game to be able check out the polygonal backside of a digital cartoon, you've got issues. |

You do realize this is a discussion based on the incursion avatar system, right? Which will be used in the Incarna expansion, right??
So then those of us who walk around the stations will be looking at our avatar a LOT whether we want to or not. Hence some of us might just make a female avatar for that reason alone, as opposed to making a male avatar where we couldn't care less on sculpting the avatar. It's just a preference, and if you don't want to be part of WIS, fine, but don't go around and say that those who make avatars that they would like to look at have issues, it just shows how stupid you are...
EDIT @ Dante: erm.. I hate to be rude, but try again...

It's same thing as man dressing up as a woman simply cause he thinks he looks prettier that way
you can do it in privacy of your own home, but when you go outside like that, it's rather nasty. If you are a man, you better look like a man.

No, this is about the Incursion character creator. Please, keep your ideas to yourself as they are not worth any value at all.

Not that this will generate any decent replies( /trollsign) but I guess you think the only reason someone would ever want an avatar of a gender different than their own is because of some misplaced desires.
Let me give you an example as to why some people make such a choice: the female fighter pilot in the X-men 2 aircraft chase scene. Totally. Badass.
