I saw a post about this. This was always my concern. Foyle is a good friend, or was.. who knows. I know better then to **** off a woman, you could get banned lose access not get any. I would say that I do trust Foyle although when I left CA their was a powertrip fight. Who was who, who did what. what title. The meetings and funds were turning CA into a rich pig (I like pigs) that had people that controlled parts and others that were being controlled. CA was great, like I said, once I saw that the funds were being controlled by essentially one person, it was the end. The power hunger grew, the control grew and the issues of self-importance ran wild.
CA is very interesting, we lost so many good corps good friends. Most decisions were already made in closed doors and we would then majority vote the rules into place on Saturdays. I would know. I handled talks, and most external issues. Foyle dealt with internal, which later she began to handle external, alot without informing people that needed to know.
The real deal was people wanted to play for fun, not for politics or managment of the forums or rules or agendas. We let Foyle run that aspect because she wanted to take the reins on these issues, and I appreciate it and many others did. Foyle did a great job handling all aspects of the alliance. Respect that.
So, back to the funds. I don't know the last rough count, but many billions. One thing I do know is Foyle will never ebay the money (I respect that), Foyle will look out for those that look our for her. I trust her. I don't give a crap about the money. The ones complaining most likely didn't contribute to it anyhow. The miners were the majority, not the fighters. The fighters were compensated with Insurance fund and got to fight die and get a new ship. What more can you ask for?
Let CA die with honor. Forget about the funds. I hope that Foyle wouldn't use those funds to kill ex-CA. Kill celestial apoc or something useful, buy a space station paint it pink and retire.

So Foyle has like 10 billion then ? Wonder if she'd like to hire the Guiding Hand to sort her sock drawer or something.

mabye they would not be getting shot at by everyone if they pvp guys did'nt do there thing
oh and it shoudl be easy to find quotes of high ranking ca members saying that they dident give a flying fk about the miners when they really got under attack(like when xan was causing havoc in wicked creek/cache etc). so in all honesty, i think the miners woudl have been better off without your pvp'ers Spelling errors ahoy.. |

Sir I have no idea who you are. There was almost no protection to mining operations, unless managed by corporations that would group together to mine for a few days then get back to PvP.
I am sure Xanadu (if around) or FA,SA,Xetic would say there was no protection for mining operations from the Former CA. CA was an alliance but essentially broken into regions that were made up of corporations that worked together.
I believe the history with Cache would be a great example of this. RUS and fellow corporations ran security of that region (although timezones were an issue). There was only one time that the true CA came to the Cache regions aid, and that was before RUS was dominate in that region.
If VOTF has an issue with the funds, then I believe only a few in VOTF have any right to speak on the matter. One being Xirtam (if playing anymore).
Let's not kid ourselves, you enjoy pvp, you fight because you want to, WE arranged the benefit of the tax to allow you the ability to have your ships and mods replaced. It's like car insurance except it's free. Duke came up with the idea incorporated into Omega to have the ship replacement fund. We came up with the idea of the taxation of stations and minerals from my experience with what other "alliances" were doing specifically TPS.
The idea was presented to have certain corporations run security for regions and get compensated from that stations %, but that never worked, because nobody wants to be told what to do where to fight or FFS sit in deadspace and wait for hostiles to come.
Make sense? I hope. I am very proud of Curse and what we accomplished, and the people that made CA what is was.....

I wouldn't call it protecting space. I would call it playing the game. Protecting space was only when we had calls to arms, for HED-GP, which I never liked that place.

Well in comparison:
For the NSA, VNTR held the funds and organised most of the alliance operations and administration. Destable, Alexandra Belani and Talitha from Everlasting Vendetta were instramental in carrying out all the adminitrative tasks of the Alliance.
Once the corporations of the NSA started splintering off, all the Alliance funds were redistributed to NSA corps, and that was the end of it. Destable is of course the most honorable person in-game that I have ever had the pleasure of working with, and he did what was right.
Alliance funds belong to the corps in the Alliance. If the Alliance is breaking up, the funds should be redistributed to th corps that want it. Just because one person thinks they did a lot of work for the alliance, it does not (imho), give them a right to take the Alliance funds for themselves.

Just think if someone in one of the lesser pvp alliances was to keep all of the funds, there would be an absolute ****storm of whining and name calling. The fact that most of the corps that were in CA the day or week before it disbanded don't care about the minerals and isk assets of CA speaks volumes for former CA corps goals and aspirations within the game. Please take note of this all you people that think CA was full of evil people.
If it was any other alliance than CA in this topic there would probably be people petitioning it. CA is the best bunch of people I've ever met in a game (Donatello from Lineage 2 was cool too, damn you for not keeping in contact, this is Burro buddy, you playing EVE yet?)
Who really cares what happens to the minerals and isk. If it was say 10 billion, and if we just divided it up amongst the 2500 people or so in curse it would only be 4 million each, whoopee. The fact that one person has a lot (not sure on the numbers) of isk as opposed to everyone having their tiny share doesn't bother me any, and I only have 32 million and 3 battleships!!!! only one of them insured, wait I have like 10k mega and zydrine hidden somewhere too.

VOTF was in CA from day 1, most of our members went and played WOW for a month or so, so you are saying that 1 month of most of the corp being inactive nullifies the other 16ish months of hard work we put in? wow....
Also, some of us (like me) didnt leave to go play WOW so there were still a handful of people in VOTF still defending CA.

Edit- by all the "were" and "we" parts of that i mean CA as a whole.

Your right Shiwan. I agree that the funds shouldn't be sitting in Foyle pocket and in fact should be hunted till the end of EVE if that is the case, but I don't know what is going on as of now. Foyle removed me from the CA forums hasn't responded to my posts, so I wouldn't know. One thing I do know is I like to hear all sides. Right now I don't really care, about the sides. I knew this kinda crap would happen. I never wanted one person in control of the funds. Sorry you guys are getting screwed, really.
Again: I believe that ALL corps of substance that were in the CA should get a share. PERIOD.

Did someone say foyle had 10 billion?
Better make that 6 billion.
About 3 weeks ago she came on TS, and told us she bought an omen for 4 billion from Blue flame.
Maybe she spent the other 6 billion fitting it?

She can keep it. IF she has chosen to keep the funds, she has joined the Duke club- by her own doing (The Foyle 401k retirement fund)
The fact of the matter is, we were never going to see the monies anyway- so it's not like we lost anything in the long run.
Besides- 7 billion isk- it's like buying herself a perpetual death warrant- over such a piddly amount. I mean there are xetic with personal worth of 15 bill each. CA's total operating funds was less than INDIVIDUAL xetic pilots wallet.
Keep it in perspective. CA was never about money- if she's chosen to make it about money then she has made a statement by keeping it that is hard to deny- or undo. So be it.

I didn't go and play wow, instead I continued to pvp in curse space daily. Also, I never once made a claim to the CA insurance fund...
I think folye will keep the ISK in her wallet. Why you ask? Because without it, what is she? another carebear pilot who stays docked all day long, and we all know how popular they are.
We did run some mining ops, and we did contribute to the fund, but personally I couldn't care less what she does with the ISK. She signed her own death warrant a long time ago, and no amount of ISK will change that.

To be honest, I would have liked to have seen the ISK go to setting up a PvP University..
eg. A corp based in empire, with representatives from each of the major PvP corps in the game, where players interested in PvP could come and have fun learning how to PvP. It would provide an avenue for new people to join in PvP and possibly form up new alliances, or join existing ones. A non-partisan approach with a bankroll would have meant we might have had a new generation of PvP'ers coming into the game with "tricks of the trade" and made the pvp environment better for all. It would have dispelled the association of "PvP" and "Piracy" once and for all- and demonstrated that we all play the same way and it's perfectly ok.
But this wont happen. Instead of the monies helping alot of people, it's going to help 1 person. It was never intended for this purpose and it IS dissapointing that this appears to be the case.

I guess Foyle has now proved everything i said about her correct, and those that stood at her side wrong...
Additionally, i guess it also proves that the director of her first corporation was right when he said she was stealing from them...
