Easy ? I slaved over half an hour to get something barely passable.
For some weird reason, I couldn't manage to recreate my older attempts that looked much better.
The HARDEST part of all was getting the mouth "not wrong". There was just no "right" to be had no matter how much I tried.

That's because for all intents and purposes, there are no mouth controls beyond what the sculptor gives you (and that's fairly limited as well).
It simply can't be posed. You can affect it indirectly by fiddling with the chin and cheeks, but the mouth itself is entirely void of controlsà which is odd considering how many muscles are stuffed in there and how much they, and the muscles around the eyes (which are also missing) mean for your expression.

All the men in this thread are coming out as winners, but for some reason all the women look like trannies or failed goths. I was hoping for some more succes with the new creator.

Actually it can be but only in the photography page. In fact you can control a lot of facial expression in there. I'm guessing half of the people complaining about looking stoned or 'samey' never figured that out.

That's what I'm talking about: even in the posing stage, the controls for mouth and eyes are minimal. You can pull on the chin and make the corners of the mouth go up and downà
àand that's it. Considering what humans can do to shape their mouths, that's pretty anemic. Same goes for the eyes: the controls don't let you recreate some pretty basic human expressions.

Have you noticed that if you rotate the character from front to profile, the same "point of tweaking" has different controls ?
Or at least, it sure does seem like that to me. You have 3 control points for the mouth - the mouth in general and each lip in particular. For instance, from the front, you can control width and height, but from the profile, you control depth and height.
Problem is, each facial area is independent form the rest, so whenever you "pull" on the cheekbones or jaws, for instance, the rest is left exactly where it was before. You need to pull on those to get a nice-looking face, but you're left with the mouth just "floating" somehow, and the range in which you can push or pull it to be in line with the rest of the face is very small... or in extreme cases, even pulling it to the max of the allowed range is still not enough.
I most often ended up with what I could only describe as "chimp mouth".

The facial expressions are next to impossible to actually pull without making them look fake.

Yes, in the sculptorà and I consider those three control points lacking. But like I said, the main problem is that you can't pose the mouth (in the "photo" stage).

Yup. This is a problem in both the sculpting and posing stages. The face doesn't consist of separate parts, and it's actually very hard to move only parts of the face. For instance, at least 50% of a smile, if not more, lies in the eyes and cheeks ù all we can do is pull on the corners of the mouth, and those are the only parts that moveà almost independently from the rest of the face.
