What godless lag!
There was no honor in that fight CCP. What else did you fix?
Yeh, yeh... I know the routine...
I would file a Petition, but knowing you folks well enough, I won't waste your time, nor mine!

Yeah that was hideous.
At least I got my pod out (eventually) - at least I didnt have to worry about aggression timer when docking, it was long gone......

worst lag i had since the "FW lag" was fixed, clients totaly locked up any hardly responded to any commands
felt more like client side lag to me compared to old FW lag
and i am on a quad core with 8 gig ram and decent graphic card like many others that hat similar lag
did people outside FW expierience this too? or is it FW exclusive again like the last time?

Wow! Been a long time since I have seen a lag of this dimension! Watched my ship die without being able to do anything about it! Great job!

Edited by: Alica Wildfire on 19/01/2011 22:28:53 Totally lagged out. I can hardly remember anything like that. Maybe last time in a lowsec 1000 shipfight I think. And there it was way better than this. Grid loaded, I could see the overview, unable to lock something. Then finally a Guardian showed up. But I never managed to fire a shot.
The fight was over before I could lock another target.
I had released my drones, which I later found out. Wellą Epic lagfeast. But by the way, GF, Amarr. Hope to battle you again. -- FREEDOM, PUNK & AUTOCANNONS

Yeah, absolutely awful. I had brackets off and all graphics to low going in, as lag was so bad in earlier fleet movement and skirmishes, and ended up turning off effects in the first 30 sec of the fight. (should've done it beforehand but forgot.) That.combined with a fairly high-end system meant I could just about tell what was going on, but I fared a lot better than most of the fleet or most of the other side it seems. Not seen anything like it since fw lag was fixed.

I can't play anymore because the network lag is so bad. Undocking and docking takes at least three minutes, as well as changing systems. I can't look at my character sheet or the market without waiting at least 10 minutes for them to load. It might just be an issue with the network I'm on, but I really hope CCP can do something, otherwise I'll have to cancel my subscription until I'm back at home with a decent connection.

+1 for the lag
warped into the battle to be faced with a frozen client for 15 minutes
maybe 0.5 fps if I was lucky
woke up in my shiny new clone in Amarr with a -3.0 sec status thanks should be fun getting out !

Same here, Quadcore Machine with ATI 5850 HD I just closed the Client and restarted it to lower the Graphics and disabled all the Effects and logs. But that all didnt helped. It was definately a Sever Lag. I wasnt able to enable any Single Module or to select anything.

I think the closest comparison I have to that lag is probably the 500 man test server capital/titan testing that occurred in December 2009; same time everyone got all the skills and those tight xmas presents on Singularity. There was what 50 Titans, 150 MoMs, and 300 Dreds?
I don't know how CCP could hypothetically justify saying "logs indicate nothing" when all you have to do is look at the battle info...one side is smoking pods right and left, and the other side can't even lock enemy ships. I suppose we all collectively decided to play a trick on ourselves. Furthermore laws of probability indicate strong correlation between a previous days patch and recently unprecedented grid lag for a SMALL fight experienced my the whole of the Amarr militia fleet. That is if the petitions get the standard response. And I say "I don't know why" merely as a literary tool. I'm well aware of why.

I had the same experience. Tried several minutes to even target someone. Didnt work. So i jumped out, wich also took several minutes.
Seriously? You expect that kind of lag in the big sov wars where hundreds and hundreds of people clash. But not on a 100vs100 scale.

Edited by: David Devant on 20/01/2011 18:19:36 Confirming that this was indeed terribad. The reason all the pods were on your side was nowt to do with lag though.

Confirming, was in that same fight last night. It was mostly unplayable. Couldn't lock anything after the first two targets, couldn't switch mods on or off, couldn't launch drones. I have no idea what the reason was, but the fact that this was our first big fight after the patch on Tuesday indicates that it is a result of that patch.
If I were to speculate on the reasons, I would say a mix of the new characters portraits being fetched from the server, combined with extra server overhead for the Incursions.
On the other hand, it could also be that the Huola system was on the same node as the Ashab system, where there was a major Incursion/Invasion/CCP Event running with about 400 in local which could have swamped the server.
But whatever the reason, we've never had lag as bad as this in FW or anywhere in losec before. On the 26th of November last year, we had a fight of the same size in the Kourmonen system with almost no lag.
Come on CCP. Really. This is unacceptable.
I have a dual quad core with a GT8800, had brackets and effects off.

Fight tonight in Tama. Gallente vs Caldari Militia.
Caldari got WTFPWND because of the biggest lag monster i have ever seen.
Roughly 40ships between both sides, on the Nourv Gate.
FIX THIS CRAP NOW PLEASE! WE DON'T GET MANY FIGHTS THESE DAYS, WE'D AT LEAST NOT HAVE TO ATTRIBUTE OUR WINS TO LAG.

yer. it's obvious to me that until this happens to NC, PL or IT or someone with some "pull" with ccp us peons will just have to not shoot each other...
instead everybody in FW should just play online poker, betting systems on the hands.
i don't know how ccp think they are going to handle 400people in lowsec systems fighting sansha - because we all know the low sec systems are running right on the edge of horsepower anyway. //sometimes less is more...zero

At the current rate, I think CCP will have managed to alienate every single customer segment they have by the time the summer patch comes out. I will petition Wednesday's fight tonight and urgently suggest that people from Cal/Gal militia do the same for the Tama fight.
The worrying thing is that CCP might ignore this lag altogether for a long time because they show almost no interest in losec in general.

We flown yesterday with 30 man trough Minmatar FW Space and noticed that we had always some minilags similar to the Big Lag. It happened always when the 30 Guys decloaked on a Gate and when PPL launched Drones. The Lag was always between 3 and 7 Seconds long if we decloaked or launched Drones. Does anyone know why this happens ???

Another example of this yesterday I jumped into a 7 pirate frig gate camp it was just me vs 7 of them and it wouldn't let me delcoak until they jumped through the gate then I was able to move again, guess its getting worse now.
