Mech, umm no **** u can tank a deimos if ur tankd for kinetic and thermal, wats ur point?
Eagle is a fantastic sniper but it's dmg is nothing on the deimos, try hitting with ur 250mm rails a deimos orbitting u at 500m. Ull hav a hard time.
Ur very arrogant (edit: + annoying) and when i get trained for a deimos i will come 4 u  to show u the light of course. Dont forget u can choose ur dmg type 2 with the drones, which is a huge strength.
Deimos is easily the most dmging hac apart maybe from a ganking zealot, so stfu and sit down u noob.

Mech, I suggest you stop posting in this thred. Besides being wrong and voicing situation sensitive oppinions as if they were general facts, you are also completely derailing the topic.
The topic is: why is the Deimos so slow?
The topic is not: my Eagle can tank any Deimos.
The Deimos is 10 m/s slower than the Thorax hull. This would be just fine, it's heavier with a lot more technology packed into it, if it wasn't for the fact that it is the slowest Heavy Assault Ship while at the same time the naturally shortest ranged Heavy Assault Ship.
This completely goes in line with CCPs policy of not complementing the races combat philosophy with ship design. It is another example of how CCPs devs really need to sit down and ask themselves: 18 months into the game, and what has changed?

Yeah, it is a bit too slow. Then again, I've never had trouble closing the distance.
On the Eagle debate. The Deimos has only 6% loss on cap for fitting an MWD and has a handy slot for a nos as well. By the time you'd finished kiting the deimos your cap would be in a much worse state from your own mwd than you think and should he close the distance and switch the nos on you're so called invincible tank is going to go down the toilet a lot faster than his armor is.
Only one way to find out though

The Deimos DOES have the highest dmg output of all HAC's period under right circumstances. Your attempts to make yourself look clever by stating resistances as a defense are poor to say the least
Its like saying "Hey, that Gankageddon with 8 HSII's isnt putting out much dmg to my Muninn so it must suck but that Caracal firing explosive heavy missles is owning me , NERF the Caracal"

The Deimos can seem a little sluggish, especially compared with the Vagabond, but then to fly it you'll have Spaceship Command 5 (and maybe Evasive Man 5 if you fly Intys), as well as not having to put a 1600mm plate on it like the Thorax, so it slips through the ether with far more ease than its parent ship.
As for powergrid/CPU, I think it's pretty balanced. You can squeeze 5*Electron IIs, a M Nos II and a M Rep II on there without having to use any PDUs, RCUs or CPUs - and you'll have a fantastic tank as well as death being spat out of the weapon systems.
As for the whole Eagle Vs Deimos thing, I think public opinion has settled this: Range Vs Close-Range, former wins at arms length, latter wins up close - simple.

I'll gladly duel the guy with either of my ACs if that's what it takes to show him that Eagles aren't exactly top rung on the elite cruiser ladder, as I think I'm rather well versed in Eagle euthanasia now... as for the Deimos being ponderous, how about sticking on a named overdrive? People are pretty reluctant to use low-slot speed mods on expensive ships, but why not have a low-slot layout something like this:
1 med armor rep II, 1 active exp hardener, 2 cap power relays, mag stab II, local hull overdrive?
Doesn't sacrifice much, adds 34 to base speed and by my shoddy math about 150 to MWD velocity, and bam: You've got the deadliest AC ever.

i have enough with 390hp/4sec to tank those drones
the only thing i cant hold with my eagle is ....

and i have to watch out with bs,ses and heavy NOS
medium NOS wont hurt me that much, i could still hold my L shield booster II with a test , with decent skills and modulles cap from eagle ownz ..

It would actually be a complete doddle Id bet, You must be using small guns some dmg output is reduced a lot and you also must be slow as **** with 2 plates meaning that the Eagle could keep you as his optimal for 250mm II's and spend as much time as he needed to chew through your (considerable) armour.
So HMV consider Andy Williams and Dean Martin to be "easy listening" do they? Tell that to my mate Dave, he's been deaf for 20 years.
