I actually like the race-locked options, they add uniqueness to the bloodline you choose.
The only thing that I find mildly frustrating is that with the old character creator, you could make topless gallente females, but couldn't look down far enough to see their boobs. In the new character creator, you can look down far enough to see their boobs, but can't make them topless.
...CCP can be so cruel.

You do realize these restrictions were in place with the old creator too, right?

I kind of understand the op he's got a point. The new cc is very limited.I was messing with the cc trying other races on an empty slot and I noticed that you get two pair pants to chose from. Two!?!
Not only that but none match any of the shirt colors you can use.
The long female hair styles look really bad and colors are very limited as one bloodline in caldari cant even pick black to hide the bugged out hair.
The shoes are very limited and colors are off again not matching pants or shirts really. The pictures show a different coler than you get as well.
Theres an aisian character in every race yet only one black character which is minmatar lol. What if your black and don't happen to be minmatar?
The limitations on bloodlines which no longer have an impact on the game just tops it off. This is something that bothers me too and if I hadn't been playing this game so long I'd quit too.In an rpg the looks of your character are very important to some.
The new cc is great but because of some dumb choices and limitations along with a few bugs,If I had to rate it it would get no more than 5/10 as is.

I spent ages on the Character Creator and I can't find a look that represents how I feel my character should look. Although I have several accounts I feel related to each toon and in my imagination they each have a personality and accordingly should have a certain look. My Pvp toon is a real evil piece of work and all this Character creator can do for Caldari is turn out pretty boys which is not the look that I'm after. I'm not enraged about it bt I am P'd off.

Don't think anyone is saying it does not have limitations, but you have to remember it's still a work-in-progress.

*shrugs* I know there's people who wouldn't mind their avatar looking like a paper bag or a pile of secretion as long as they can shoot ships, that doesn't mean it has to be valid for every player.
EVE is still advertized as a MMORPG and RP and looks are important for the immersion for a lot of people.

After asking about the race-locked art assets via petition, I got this response:
Indeed some character options are limited to certain races or bloodlines, and are not available for other bloodlines or races then. However, these restrictions are intended.
I think this is completely unfair. So I'm going to leave EVE Online. You can't have my stuff.

I really really want to say something snarky, but Syn was nice about this whole thing, so I'll restrain myself.
Personally, I think you're making a mistake. You obviously like the game if you've played for 6 years and while I understand that you're not happy about the whole "Now we're Mongolian" thing (trust me, I'm not all that excited about it myself), I don't know that you'll be happy with this decision you've made.
Be that as it may, good luck, Goddess bless you, and for the love of humanity don't biomass yourself, just in case. --Vel

Yes, I agree that its very sad that when CCP finally rolls out such a WONDERFUL new toy after so many years they are limiting it to our bloodline and sex. Its very sad since it have such HUGE potential. But we will see what Incarna will bring. I am very sure we will be able to tailor our character further - most likely for a fee - later on. So I guess thats what I will do.
Still, with my second recreation posibillity of my character, I think I have got an OK portrait, although it does not hold the qualities of my original portrait- which you can see here. or, in my signature!

What on earth makes you think I don't care for the role playing aspect of EVE?! And I care a great deal about my looks! And I took painstaking efforts getting my Avatar right, thank you.
Leaving the game, however, because (quoting CCP) "some character options are limited to certain races or bloodlines," is rather bizarre, though. In fact, having no racial limitations is what would go against true immersion! In that sense, I can only reiterate my statement about finding OP's reason for leaving highly contrived. Especially since racial differences in looks have existed since long before I even started this game. --

Quite. The OP is essentially quitting because the game is now more like he wants it, and he doesn't like that the game is moving in a direction he likes.

I don't think it's bizarre.
If CCP had only kept the same options for the same bloodlines most people wouldn't have problems with it. I think no-one would have objected to a "re-creating your character but in a more realistic way" thing.
The thing is that they changed some bloodlines beyond recognition and on top of that removed a lot of options from the bloodline that always had them, and for which people picked that bloodline in the first place. The fact is that some bloodlines have options they never had before and some lost options they always had. Differences are good - but not if you're stuck with options you didn't want when you picked your character the first time.
Perhaps it's not the case in your case or you may have found an agreeable alternative; well that's very nice for you. I just don't understand why you refuse to see that some people who didn't are very unhappy about this.

Should CCP go ahead and make every races ship the same configuration and number of slots, power, CPU, turrets, special abilities, etc.
I never expected to be able to look like just any race or have the same face or hair as others. MMOs do it for diversity...no one wants to play a game where everyone dresses and looks the same...Maybe go play minecraft?

Oh look! I've found a dummy on the floor here. Whats all this about clothes? look at the charater pictures, can you tell me what they are wearing? Clothes will only be important once walking in stations become available and thats still filed under soonÖ so theirs plenty of time for CCP to expand on the excellent start they have made with this latest patch. Sure take a break, I've taken one and am now back playing eve.

When I tried out the character creator on SISI, I was hugely disappointed in the lack of "quirkiness" in all the options - it's mostly "(gay) bikers in space" (as someone aptly put it). Not a quitting issue, but disappointing at the time.
I mean, when I first joined EVE, part of the initial imaginative thrill with the character creator was all the whacky stuff that spoke "strange s-f future" to me (weird clothing, accessories, obvious implants, tattoos, strange visors, etc.)
But now, on live, and on reflection, and after some playing about, I'm thinking what the hell, if EVE want to go for microtransactions on the extras, I'm happy with that. CCP are doing probably the best job of any indie MMO developers out there (I've been reminded of that by revisiting PotBS and FE recently - both great wee MMOs in their own ways, but still falling far short of CCP's standards of excellence).
So: as long as they do implement some more varied, characterful accessorizing in the (hopefully) near future, I'm actually quite happy to give them more money for tarting up my avatars, it's a pretty good deal really, all things considered. They're not my enemies, they're my friends, they've given me a lot of gaming pleasure in fair exchange for my dosh so far, and I'm happy to chuck an extra bob or two their way for a bit of fluff now and then.

You are quiting the game out of this vanity bull****? i was thinking that people can quit when they have their beloved Nyx nerfed to frigate's capabilities, but now, the reason just makes me think that yould have probably quited anyways. Also CC is not finished yet, read the topics about it they will add loads of stuff later, now it's just BETA
