I recreated the char costumazion again no HOOD, wearing black long sleeve T-shirt normal black trouses and normal shoes, all good when I finish and accepted, loggin in today my char got THE DAMM HOOD again, how I can get rid of it, and why come out with this hood ?????

I have same problem, I'm getting the hood on clothes that don't even have a hood option. When they gave the chance to remake the portrait I figured it would be fixed and no more probs. Now I have a pink thing around my neck that is the hood I guess.

Exactly the same thing happened to me. I had the hood on when I finalized, then I log in, and no hood in game but I still had it on the login. Now after clearing cache, I have no hood on my login either. So basically my hood just vanished? Come on CCP, what's going on? Give me my hood back, or give me another re-customization. This broken portrait stuff is getting frustrating. |

Considering how many people have consumed their redo for altering their portrait again, And found that due to bugs, it's still wrong... Why not simply allow everyone unlimited retrys untill the bugs are worked out? Clearly people are not happy with this release, and It appears that it's nowhere near finished. Perhaps if so much time wasn't wasted on content like Incursions... we could have gotten at least one feature w/o bugs.
Till this is fixed, I recommend anyone that wishes to redo their portrait simply wait it out. Why bother if there's no telling what you'll get?
WTB Paper bags in the meantime to cover my face. Or I can trade some scissors to somebody with a hood.

First time I made my character he was fine, and then when the final "render" came through he was blinking.
Then I remade him, and now he has a hood.

i meant after fixing the bug. i dont want them to fix the bug and im stuck with a hoodless portrait. i feel so naked without it..

Yep, its still the same issue with the hood.
But have there even been a patch today deployed?
I havent DL any patch to log in after the extended DT.
And it does not say that it has been deployed when logging in to eve.

I was also told via petition that this issue would be solved today. Although they didn't tell me anything about another character remake. I wonder if they gave you one?
And although there was nothing downloaded after the downtime, incursions are now active. So something changed from yesterday.
Either way, my hood is still missing.

it isnt fixed yet, so petitioning won't change anything. They will probably render the portraits again automatically when the fix comes, so you dont need to redo the picture

Same problem, I was hoping this new patch which I have just applied would resolve our little hood problem. It even states that it re-renders the portraits to ensure the options we selected for hoods are applied:
"Amarr hoods should now save in the proper state when finalizing a character, and should only ever appear on Amarr robes. Characters that were wearing the hood without wearing the robe will have their characters automatically corrected and rerendered."
If you're wearing a Robe, then it gives you the option how the hood appears. My avatar doesn't wear a Robe, yet I have a Hood that makes my Avatar look like he's wearing a raincoat. Unless I'm being impatient, this patch hasn't worked, but I have just had a thought about how clearing cache and refreshing certain bits and bobs so that everything is up to date, including the appearance of our Avatars, so for those who have just applied the update (including me), we might have to wait for a little while (once you've applied the patch), and we might get a different result (and hopefully the result we're looking for).
ADDENDUM: My Avatar appears to have no hood as you can see on the left, but in-game curently at the time of this post (14:11 GMT), he appears to have a hood. I'll be logging on later to discover any change.

Hi JT,
The fixing/rerendering mentioned in the patch notes only applies to characters who were wearing the hood when they were not wearing any robe. Unfortunately, those characters already wearing the hood could not be corrected as we didn't know what the original selection was. You should however be able to recustomize your character, using the recustomization that all characters received on Friday, to apply the hood to your character. The UI controls have been fixed so the hood should behave properly.
Hi Kunniz,
It seems that some characters who were not wearing any "outer" piece of clothing at all when the patch went in may have been skipped for the fixing/rerendering process. This is being addressed as we speak, so hopefully we'll all get to see you in all your glory quite soon.

I am afraid that I am stuck and since the last patch on Friday i still have not been given the option to use the recustomization that all characters received on Friday, to apply the hood to our characters.
Having said this I have petitioned the matter and recieved replies from different GM's who stated that the option is available for me, now my problem is the fact that every time i log into game i go straight into game and no message box appears giving me the option to re customize my char to my initial choice.
In other words the Friday patch was still of no use to me.
Can you enable this and double check it is working from your side as here on my end its still the same , no flag for re customization.

We are not aware of any issues with activating recustomization.. can you check in your escape menu, under the "Reset Settings" tab, to make sure you do not have the "Recustomize Character" message suppressed?

My hood was appearing / functioning normally until 2 days ago, I attempted to fix minor lighting / camera issues with yet another portrait redo. Lo & behold my hood is once again missing. Having no reserve flags to fire off, I'm stuck again looking like shmeegol, And I can't tell you thrilled that makes me. I need that bag on my head just to undock ;|
Very first in game petition has been filed, 2 days w/o an answer. I used to speak very highly of CCPs customer support, coming from many different games which treat their customers downright poorly. I was impressed before at the speed / thoroughness of their response, not so much now. This is turning into a very negative experience. One that I will not quickly forget. Funny how a single piece of clothing (or code in this case) can turn into such a problem. & while this is not a major issue for others, it is for me.

It needed reset.
Just entered the re-custom menu now , hope it holds , log in shows the change with the hood , hope the game follows soon. :)
**EDIT** in game only shows the desired hood to myself and not to other accounts.

Would like to chime in and confirm this issue is not fixed. After having my account re-flagged for a portrait redo because of a missing hood, the issue resurfaced after a day.
The hood no longer appears on the login screen or in game.
Not going to bother with another petition until this is addressed in some sort of patch notes.. erm.. Wait it already has....
Back to Diablo II over hamachi!

There are many problems with Carbon right now as far as recapturing is concerned, CCP side. At least it all draws further attention to the fact that CCP's automated anti-aliasing needs to try harder to retain our original settings.

I too had a hood. I checked that all looked fine in the picture before accepting the final image as Ok. It did. I got into game, and it looked fine.
But my alt saw me bald, as did everyone else.
Now I relogged and my hood has disappeared for me too!
Something strange, is that my alt account could see me bald, no hood. Tried export capture, and the pic had a hood on! Weird. Now after relogging he captures pic without hood again too.
I want and need a hood to join my chosen corp.
hood back! PLEASE!
edit: I have petitioned this, but I see others above in this thread that have now got the correct hood they desired. Did this fix itself, was a petition fix possible? How are your avatars now correct? |

Did anyone of you that still have this issue use the History bar that was added in a patch recently? I used it and from my point of view it seems to keep the last option in history on servers even if that is not the case locally and what shows on finalize picture.

This almost seems entirely random. Though I did have a stable hood for about 3 days, till I used a portrait redo flag... Then it went missing again. So perhaps petitions & some luck is the only way to go for now?
Already filed one petition though and it went missing the very next day..
