Instead of fretting over numbers, why don't you work out what you'd rather fly?
The Drake utterly blows at mission running, because it takes something boring and repetitive and MAKES IT EVEN MORE BORING.
Flying a cane: - Spiralling, kitting, fighting for optimum range - Adjusting your fit to max your DPS / Tank for a given mission - Adjusting your fit to change range - Burning along at 1k/s+ and pew pewing on a flyby - Facing some actual danger when webbed
Flying a Drake: - Load mission specific missiles - Lock target, F1-F7 - Repeat
I don't care if they're more effective, this is a *game* and you're meant to have fun, not calculate your ISK/hr. You can prove anywhich way you want that the Drake is "numerically better" - this does not equate to a better gameplay experience.
FYI my major problem with the Drake is that most users are hopeless over-tanking pansies, who seek absolute safety in their ship and remove any sense of fun from the act. For that, I pity them.
Edit: Snipe

The drake is the obvious better ship. When I say obvious I mean that my epic eft warrioring means that the drake absolutely looks much better on paper; it simply has way better tank and enough damage and really good range with missiles.
Unless nanocanes can speed tank heavy missiles then I don't get how anyone got a drake kill in a cane.

I'd prefer to maximize the isk/h so I can spend fewer hours PvEing and more time PvPing. And I run a bit overtanked on a lot of setups because I occasionally dualbox with one account running missions semi-AFK while PvPing on the other.
But that's just me.

I once lost to a Hurricane because I was eating gateguns while capped out and scrammed. But yeah, you generally shouldn't lose that fight in a Drake.
Nanocane can probably get away though, unless you have a scram.
