What i like about EVE is that there are various ships all available at different skill levels and for different uses. The ship designs and mechanics in the game are extremely elaborate and yet precise that pretty much every ship has a purpose and specialization in one thing or another (this isn't an excuse for anyone to troll on random ships now )
We've recently got the Noctis to take care of our salvage-mongering needs. We also know that we'll be at least getting a few new ships soon (what with the competition winner announced). I also think that introducing even more new ships will refresh things a bit for the current/older players and what would be great is if these ships had new specialized uses. I've heard people requesting for more variety of Battlecruisers (most likely for level missioning) and even T3 BS's (once again most likely for missioning). But wouldn't it be great if they had other uses, i missions L1,L2,L3,L4 are doable with frigate,crusier,BC,BS's respectively.
So time to brain storm! What new ships do you guys think we should have and what would be their use?

Maybe we could have a ship that could be used primarily to destroy wormholes - it could have an extremely high basic mass and also the capability of warping while cloaked like cov ops ships - although of course this ship will be much less agile so cov ops ships will still have their use.
Maybe an idea that could be developed.

What I want to know is what happened to the Minmatar Tornado, whose artist was supposed to see it implemented into the game for winning the deviantArt contest? Are we waiting on comparable Empire counterparts to be developed? If so, are these legitimate T3 Battleships, or just another Marauder?

Defensive ships that specialize in fleet protection.
Flak cannons anti drone/fighter. Bonuses to defensive mods Anti web/anti warp scrambler spheres of influence. Shield bubbles that reduce small amounts of incoming damage against the fleet. Phalanx systems to shoot down missiles incoming against the fleet.
That kinda thing. Be sorta of neat to see another role introduced.

Well, BlackSparrowHawk, I have to say I'm a little peeved at what all that pod goo does to my hair and makeup. So what I'd like to have is a nice luxo-limo diven by someone else while I relax in a luxurious bubble bath in my private cabin.
I don't think that's too much to ask for. After all, a girl needs to take care of herself if she wants to get anywhere in this wild and wacky place we call New Eden.

Once T3 has been fully realised (frigs, BCs, BSs) and everyone flies one, I'd like to see T4 ships that introduce a new concept: Interconnectable, interlocking ships.
Fleet up by joining smaller ships to create a larger one.
Or maybe I just watched too many cartoons growing up.

Minelayer (Modified Industrial/transport, mines are a bubble around the ship that perform much like a HIC's warp disruption bubble, mines are fof and do not damage friendly ships, good tank, no real offensive ability beyond mines, new t2 Industrial ship hull class)
Minesweeper (Modified Destroyer hull which creates a safe bubble (smaller than the minlayer bubble) where friendly ships will not be damaged, new t2 Destroyer hull)
Anti Drone/Anti Fighter (bonus against drones/fighters for damage and tracking..probably destroyer hull, new guns to help in this, new t2 Destroyer hull, alternatively could have an aoe bubble that only damages drones/fighters within the bubble)
Subspace Disruption (basically a HIC but generates a stasis web bubble, Level 3 Heavy Interdictor)
Long Range Remote Sensor Damp (t1 Gallente EW Battleship along lines of the Caldari Scorpion)
Long Range Turret Disruption (t1 Amarr EW Battleship along lines of the Caldari Scorpion)
Long Range Target Painting (t1 Minmatar EW Battleship along lines of the Caldari Scorpion)
Wormhole Generation Ship (Ship can generate a wormhole capable of opening up into wormhole space, little control what system you can generate it to enter, This would probably be a capital level ship)
Science Ship (bonus to hacking mods and analyzer but with enough hp tank to keep itself alive while doing so and some sort of minimal armament, new t2 cruiser hull).
Deep Space Munitions Transport (higher level transport with a dedicated corp hangar for holding ammo only Level 2 transport)
Deep Space Fuel Transport (higher level transport with dedicated bay for holding fuel, this would be based on current blockade runner type transports with larger holds, ideal bay would hold enough fuel to fuel 1 large POS for 1 month, level 4 transport)
Deep Space Ice Transport (higher level transport with dedicated bay for holding ice....large hold for it, but not as much as a freighter obviously, level 5 transport)
Deep Space Ore Transport (higher level transport with dedicated bay for holding ore....large hold for it, but not as much as a freighter, level 3 transport)
De-cloaker (Modified industrial/transport, kinda like the mine layer above, but the ship produces a bubble where cloaking devices do not work.....whether friendly or not, good tank, little/to dps, new T2 industrial ship class)
Heavy Cruiser (As possible counter to the current supercap/etc blob....can actually mount capital weapons (only 1 though), has damage bonus against capital ships, low tracking, Decent tank and more weapon slots that can mount weapons for its size but fit should be able to allow 1 capital weapon (use a decrease on cpu and pg requirements to fit it, New T2 hull ship class).
Heavy Stealth Bomber (Removes restriction of only 1 bomb launcher mounted, could mount up to 3, higher level covert ops....again kinda a anti blob ship, maybe level 3 covert ops)
Heavy Dreadnought (T2 Dreadnought hull, specifically built to help counter Supercarriers, ships have bonuses on damage, new weapons systems past the current size ones etc. 4-5 of these on a field should easily kill a Supercarrier while potentially losing half of their own numbers but they should pose minimal risk to subcaps).
Hospital Ship (T2 Industrial ship, this ship would enable pilots to update clones while in the field, alternatively would allow folks to jump to the hospital ship in lieu of a station. Ship would have good tank, no offensive ability).
Q-Ship (T2 Industrial modified to be a ship of war with moderate tank and moderate DPS, almost no cargo capacity as a result of modifications, probably only catch those not paying attention...once you learned ship names you'd be careful of these pirate ships).
Cloak Ship (T2 Industrial that generates a cloak bubble, allied ships inside the bubble cannot be seen from outside the bubble, no one in the bubble can target, relatively fragile ship, no offensive abilty)

A (short) local delay upon their entry into system, and the ability to warp cloaked, would go a LONG way towards making them useful.
2. Buff Nighthawk powergrid plz.
3. Give the Rokh a small drone bay plz.
4. Hybrids are broken post speed nerf. It's really quite unbalanced.
5. Minmatar battleships pretty much suck. It's really not fair to them.
6. Amarr battleships pretty much own face. Can we bring the other races slightly more in line with them, somehow?
7. As of right now, when a Nyx blob drops in system, the fight is over. This must change. Supercarriers are awesome, yes, but there should be a counter to a supercarrier blob. Countering with a larger supercarrier blob simply results in more lag, making the fight unplayable and therefore pointless.
8. BTW, Dreads are pretty much pointless now, as well. Buff time!
as for new ships:
It'd be cool to see T2, tier 2 battlecruisers fill a rather niche roll (it'd be okay to make them super expensive). Yes, I have no actual idea, I just want a jet black Drake.

A new rarity category would be nice. Something filling the hole between limited issue (tournament prizes) and pirate/navy issue.

We don't need any new ships. What we need is a complete overhaul of every t1 ship below tier 2 bc so we can get more than rifters ruptures arbitrators blackbirds caracals and vexors in a t1 fleet. If ccp did that it would open entire new options for effective low cost pvp for any race you want to specialize in. As has been put forward before you match the t1 ships bonuses and role to its t2 varient and make it a lesser but still useful ship to use as you train for the t2 ship.
HAM mallers and prophs would be awesome or slashers with a small bonus to warp disruption range and cap use or an omen that can actually fit a tank and dps at the same time. The list is endless but would still be way easier than introducing yet more new ships into the game. Possibly some of the ideas you put forth can be adapted to the current lineup of t1 ships that never get used past the brief training time between level 1 and level 3 of a racial ship skill. But any way you cut it the existing ships need a massive overhaul long before any new ships get introduced.

also, more faction ships. syndicate, sisters of eve, mordu's legion... they all have lp stores with no unique faction ships, it's sad
and while you're at it, give us +6 attribute implants. if CONCORD can sell +6% hardwirings, then why not those?

Oh Gas Mining Ship .....good one left that off my list but that's another needed ship :). (Ferox does well at it but a dedicated one would be better).

Harpoons would be pretty good at taking down Orcas, pretty ineffective against anything else.

A parasitic ship that latches onto other ships and does insidious things like steal cargo, plant tracking devices (shows on map where your tracking devices are, by system) and mess up its navigation (make it turn random directions, and mess up targeting time)
It should be really weak (like a shuttle) and have a very small cargo hold (20m3). It should have no weapons. Maybe a covert ops cloaking device.
Maybe the "latching" process should be a concordable offense. I think it would be funny though, since the ship would be 0 meters away, what would happen if they got hit with missiles.
Just an insane idea. |

Sci-Fi writers like Isaac Asimov have considered wheel-shaped stations that spin to create artificial gravity. Maybe some kind of a mobile station for 0.0 or wormholes.
It could have a massive cargo bay, and let people dock inside it to store and enter ships. It could have a refinery, cloning station, and assembly lines.
But no defenses to speak of, it can't dock anywhere and remains in space if the pilot logs out. Maybe it could be anchored in place so it could continue to operate even if the pilot leaves. Maybe consume some basic POS fuel when anchored, but have no use for strontium clathrates.
Of course, it would move hella slow and have no jump drive. It would have to be constructed at a control tower capital ship assembly line, and then be moved through a wormhole. (no jump gates)
